[He Junting] was playing pool with the Shi brothers, [Shi Shuan] and [Shi Shuning], at Yunhai when he received the call. As soon as he hung up, he grabbed his clothes and rushed out.

When [Shi Shuning] heard [He Junting] call out "ngng" on the phone, and saw how flustered he was, he assud sothing had happened to [Ye Jinng] and imdiately shouted, "Junting, what's wrong? Did sothing happen to ngng?"

[He Junting]'s footsteps didn't falter as he replied in a cold voice, "ngng said that [Xu Wanwan] might be in trouble and told to go check on her right away."

[Shi Shuning] imdiately breathed a sigh of relief that it wasn't ngng who was in trouble. He exchanged a glance with [Shi Shuan] and they both followed after [He Junting] right away.

...

At Haiyu Club, [Wu Mingshi] turned off [Xu Wanwan]'s phone and imdiately tossed it in the trash. He reached out and dragged [Xu Wanwan] along.

[Xu Wanwan] wanted to struggle but the drug had left her without any strength. On the contrary, [Wu Mingshi]'s icy touch made her want to cling to him.

But the shred of reason left told her she must not do that. She wanted to cry for help but her voice would not obey her. She dug her fingernails into her palm, trying to use the pain to cling to that last bit of lucidity.

[Wu Mingshi] supported [Xu Wanwan] as they exited the bathroom, only to run straight into [Lu Renjia] who had been following him.

Seeing [Xu Wanwan] leaning into [Wu Mingshi]'s embrace, [Lu Renjia] imdiately scread in jealousy, "Well, well, [Xu Wanwan], I didn't expect you to shalessly seduce [Wu Mingshi] like this!"

[Wu Mingshi] had not expected to run into [Lu Renjia]. He bellowed, "Shut up, [Lu Renjia]!"

Then he sidled past [Lu Renjia] and continued towards the elevator.

Seeing [Wu Mingshi] yell at her like that and recalling his coldness towards her these past days, [Lu Renjia]'s anger was stoked. She turned to launch into a torrent of abuse but noticed sothing seed off about [Xu Wanwan]'s condition.

Although [Xu Wanwan] was leaning on [Wu Mingshi], she appeared very resistant. Her steps were unsteady as if she was being dragged along.

[Lu Renjia] thought about [Wu Mingshi] slipping sothing in [Xu Wanwan]'s drink earlier. Could it really have been laxatives that left [Xu Wanwan] so weak?

Were they going to the hospital now?

Was [Wu Mingshi] trying to make a good impression on [Xu Wanwan] by drugging her and then taking her to the hospital?

[Lu Renjia] was unwilling to just let [Xu Wanwan] go like this. She had to make [Xu Wanwan] embarrass herself in public.

With that thought, [Lu Renjia] followed them and gently called out, "Mingshi, what's wrong with Wanwan? Does she have a stomachache? Why not take her back to the private room for so hot water?"

[Wu Mingshi] jabbed the elevator button, irritated that [Lu Renjia] was being so annoying. He glared fiercely at [Lu Renjia] and snapped harshly,

"Lu Renjia, see a doctor if you're sick. If you keep pestering , don't think I won't hit a woman!"

[Lu Renjia] trembled at his yelling. Her eyes imdiately grew red.

"Mingshi, I'm just concerned about my classmate Wanwan. Why are you yelling at ?"

[Wu Mingshi] closed his eyes and took a deep breath. The elevator was about to arrive. He could only gentle his tone and plead, "I'm sorry, Renjia. Wanwan isn't feeling well so I'm taking her to the hospital. Go back and tell our classmates to head back to school after they've had their fun. Be a good girl."

[Lu Renjia]'s head spun at [Wu Mingshi]'s gentle tone and his "Be a good girl". She imdiately forgot her purpose.

Stars in her eyes, she obediently murmured, "Okay."

Just then the elevator arrived. [Wu Mingshi] supported [Xu Wanwan] inside and pressed for the first floor. [Lu Renjia] still stood dumbly outside watching him.

Just as the elevator doors were closing, as [Lu Renjia] was about to turn and leave, her gaze happened to catch [Xu Wanwan]'s lips move.

"Save , save ..."

The voice was very soft. [Lu Renjia] didn't catch what she said at all. But she knew [Xu Wanwan]'s eyes were on her.

[Lu Renjia] focused her mind and carefully read [Xu Wanwan]'s lips again.

"Save...save ."

[Wu Mingshi] also heard [Xu Wanwan]'s plea for help. He imdiately pressed her face into his neck as the elevator doors shut completely.

[Lu Renjia] now understood what [Xu Wanwan] mouthed. She puzzledly murmured to herself, "Wine's gone? Nine nine five? Please, save...save !"

[Lu Renjia]'s eyes flew wide open.

Could [Xu Wanwan] not be having stomach pains? And [Wu Mingshi] wasn't taking her to the hospital? Then...

A possibility occurred to her. [Lu Renjia] hurriedly jamd the elevator button. Luckily another elevator on the 6th floor opened right then. She rushed in and punched the 1st floor button.

[Lu Renjia] couldn't believe [Wu Mingshi] would do sothing so fiendish just to get [Xu Wanwan]. That was against the law!

The elevator swiftly arrived at the first floor. [Lu Renjia] ran out but didn't see [Wu Mingshi] in the corridor. She imdiately sprinted for the entrance.

Just as [Lu Renjia] neared the entrance, she saw a taxi pulling away. Through the window, she could make out [Wu Mingshi] inside.

"[Wu Mingshi], [Wu Mingshi]!" [Lu Renjia] called out a few tis, trying to chase it down, but the taxi had already driven off.

[Lu Renjia] stamped her feet in frustration. She wanted to call [Wu Mingshi] but realized her phone was still in the private room. With no other choice, she turned to head back.

Just then, a Range Rover pulled up at the club entrance and [He Junting] imdiately jumped out, running into the club.

In his haste, he accidentally bumped into the dejected [Lu Renjia] with his arm.

[He Junting] murmured an apology without even glancing at her and continued sprinting for the elevator.

[Lu Renjia], already in a foul mood, imdiately erupted.

"Hey! You...!"

She was about to curse him out but the words died on her lips when she saw the man's face.

Wasn't he that flower arranger's good friend?
