Xu Wanwan went to the bathroom and splashed so cold water on her hot cheeks. The icy cold tap water made Xu Wanwan feel refreshed, wishing she could subrge her whole body into the cold water right away.

Looking at herself in the mirror with an unusual flush on her face, plus the unfamiliar reactions in her own body, even the dull Xu Wanwan realized she must have been drugged. If she guessed correctly, it should have been the fruit wine!

Xu Wanwan felt very dizzy now. She recalled Lu Renjia who had been hostile to her and reminded her about holding her wine glass properly. Could it be her?

Xu Wanwan opened the faucet again and splashed more water onto her face, sobering up for a mont.

No, the wine was ordered by Wu Mingshi and handed to her by him. Lu Renjia didn't even touch it, so it couldn't have been her.

Could it be Wu Mingshi then? Why would he do this?

Xu Wanwan felt increasingly dizzy now, barely able to stand steadily. She leaned against the wall and tried to take out her phone to call Ye Jinng for help.

The wash basin in the bathroom was shared between males and females. Wu Mingshi walked in and saw Xu Wanwan's flushed face and surging aura.

"Wanwan, are you alright?" Wu Mingshi pretended to show concern.

Xu Wanwan ignored him. Her fingers trembling as she tried dialing Ye Jinng's number. Before she could finish, Wu Mingshi snatched away her phone.

"What are you doing? Give back my phone!" Xu Wanwan tried to warn Wu Mingshi sternly.

But her voice ca out soft and tender due to the drug, striking directly at Wu Mingshi's heart.

Wu Mingshi grabbed Xu Wanwan's phone and without a second thought, pressed the power button to switch it off.

Ye Family Ancestral House

After dinner, Old Ye and Ye Junli and Ye Jinchen went to the study to discuss company affairs, while Ye Jinng sat on the sofa watching TV with her grandma and Madam Ye.

Since Ye Junwen was not involved with the company matters, he also stayed in the living room. However, his eyes were not on the TV.

"Jinng, I heard that young Shu boy from the Shu family has returned from the army?" Old Lady asked.

"Yes, Shu Ning returned on Mid-Autumn Festival and has gone back to school," Ye Jinng replied.

"Oh my, ti flies. It's been two years since we last saw him," Madam Ye exclaid.

Ye Jinng felt a bit uncomfortable being stared at. She pretended to yawn and imdiately got Old Lady's concern, "Jinng is tired? Go back to your room and rest then."

Ye Jinng promptly got up from the sofa, stretched, and said "Good night Grandma, good night Mom, good night Uncle." Then she hurried upstairs.

Madam Ye shook her head smiling, "This girl, she only woke up when we got ho. Now she's tired again already. What a little piggy."

Ye Junwen narrowed his eyes. Not long after Ye Jinng went upstairs, he also returned to his own room.

Back in her room, Ye Jinng imdiately locked the door and patted her chest, "Phew, Uncle is so creepy."

Ye Jinng threw herself onto the bed and checked her phone. It had been 15 minutes since Xu Wanwan last texted saying she's safe.

"Ah, how long is this party going to last? It's almost 9 pm already."

Thinking so, Ye Jinng texted Wanwan:

JinngNotFat: Wanwan, what ti are you finishing up?

A minute passed without any reply from Xu Wanwan.

Ye Jinng thought this was odd. If Wanwan could text her punctually earlier, she should have replied to her ssage instantly too.

So she texted again:

JinngNotFat: Wanwan, are you there?

Another minute went by with still no response.

Ye Jinng sensed sothing was wrong. She started to feel anxious and called Xu Wanwan right away.

"Sorry, the number you have dialed is turned off. Please try again later. Sorry..."

The chanical female voice ca up over the phone. Ye Jinng's heart sank as she started pacing nervously in her room.

Ye Jinng took a few deep breaths to calm herself down, and forced herself to think of solutions.

"Could Wanwan's phone be out of battery?"

But Ye Jinng soon rejected that possibility. If her phone was out of juice, Wanwan would have definitely texted to inform her beforehand.

So Wanwan must be in danger now.

"No, I need to go to Haiyu Club imdiately to find her!"

Just as Ye Jinng stepped towards the door, she halted. No, the family mansion was in the suburbs, very far from the city. Even at top speed driving, it would take minimum 50 minutes to get to Haiyu Club. If Wanwan was truly in danger, it might be too late.

As various thoughts flashed across her mind, she got an idea! Brother Junting!

Since He Junting was in the city area, he could get to Haiyu Club way faster than her from the family mansion. Moreover, she intended to play matchmaker between him and Wanwan. This damsel in distress situation must involve Brother Junting!

Ye Jinng swiftly found He Junting's number and called him. The call was picked up quickly.

"Hello, Jinng, you..."

"Brother Junting!" Ye Jinng cut He Junting off right away, "Sothing might have happened to Wanwan!"

"Please go to Suite 607 at Haiyu Club to check if Wanwan is still there. I can't reach her and Wanwan cannot have any mishaps! Wuuu..."

The earlier composed Ye Jinng instantly broke down crying. She had promised to protect Wanwan thoroughly this morning, yet now Wanwan was already in trouble by the evening.

Hearing Ye Jinng's anxious sobs, He Junting grasped the gravity of the situation. He promptly replied, "Alright, don't worry Jinng. I'm at Yunhai now which is very close to Haiyu Club. I'll go over to check right away."

"Yes, you must call once you find Wanwan!"

"You got it." He Junting said and hung up right after.
