Chapter 615: Fatal Kiss
After those words, the man remained still for a few monts, probably trying to detect our presences after purposely lowering our guards. Unfortunately for him, with my Chaos-enhanced magic, even a Saint Realm mage shouldn’t be able to find us without the help of so kind of powerful Magic Artifact. In fact, I didn’t mind if he stayed around for a big longer… for the scene before right now was truly a blessing to any man’s eyes.
Sylvoir lay beneath , biting her bottom lip and covering her furiously flushed cheeks with her hands, showing nothing but her eyes. Due to the height restrictions of the couch, the distance between my face and hers was no more than an inch, so it was only natural she’d be embarrassed.
But… seeing her like this after the domineering act she’d put on and all the torture she put through this afternoon… it was kind of adorable and satisfying at the sa ti. Before I even realized it, I was wearing an evil smile on my face, and licked my lips in anticipation. Sylvoir, noticing this, widened her eyes and sent a telepathic ssage.
“Y-You… what do you want to do?”
What do I want to do? Heheh… you were quite high and mighty earlier this afternoon, weren’t you? Look at you now, Sylvie… just a woman laying underneath . Is this the heavens taking revenge in my stead, or perhaps… did you pull under here on purpose?
“Shaless! If it wasn’t for your loud mouth, how would we be in this situation right now?
Well, you’re the one who asked to co here and et you tonight…
“… Forget it. This matter is more complicated than you think. We’ll talk later… that is, if we can make it out of this without being discovered.”
In other words… heheh, I can enjoy this sight for a bit longer.
“You…!”
She lifted her hands in an attempt to slap , but in that mont, I suddenly felt a pressure weighing down from above my head, and I was forcibly pushed down into Sylvoir.
“—?!”
My mouth t hers since she moved her hands out of the way, and both of our eyes widened, at a loss of what just happened.
Above us, the man, who had sat down on the couch, gave a sigh.
“Looks like I was just being paranoid… but I wonder… is that woman truly trustworthy? My master seems to value her highly, but… if our plan gets leaked… ah. I’m thinking out loud to myself again… a bad habit.”
Shaking his head, he rose from the couch at last. I was just about to let out a ntal sigh of relief, when Sylvoir imdiately pushed away from her, banging my head on the bottom of the couch.
“—!” My eyes widened at the pain and I just barely managed to stop myself from crying out in pain, but the sound of my head hitting the couch regardless made a noise. The man, who had just been about to leave, stopped in his tracks, and Sylvoir covered her mouth, realizing what she’d just done.
You idiot…!
“Tch… this is all your fault for suddenly… k-kissing … like that!”
I didn’t an to! That bastard suddenly sat down and pushed into you!
“W-Whatever, I’ll sort this out with you later! For now…”
I gave a nod, and cast Invisibility on the two of us.
“… Hm? I heard sothing just now…” The man muttered to himself (thinking aloud again), and stepped back towards the couch. Narrowing his eyes, he bent down, and peeked underneath the sofa…
… And saw nothing.
Even with his Psychic Elent affinity, he was unable to detect any presences. Raising an eyebrow in suspicion, he slowly rose back up to his feet.
“I’m hallucinating a lot recently, aren’t I…? Maybe I need to check up on my condition again…”
With that, he finally exited the room, and both Sylvie and I let out sighs of relief after his presence returned to the room across from us. We slipped back out from underneath the couch.
“Whew…” I let out a deep breath, then turned around to look at Sylvoir. “Are you alright, Sylvi-!”
Suddenly, a palm flew towards heading for my face in an attempt to slap , but reading the attack, I instantly dodged backwards and caught Sylvoir by the wrist in the process.
“… What are you doing?”
“… Little brat, your courage isn’t small,” she snorted, narrowing her eyes dangerously at . “Even daring to force yourself on in a situation like that…”
I sighed and let go of her wrist, before shooting her a cold look. “I’ve already told you. I didn’t an to. What I said before that was just teasing, no more. I never expected him to actually sit on the couch… and for said piece of furniture to be so fragile as to sink when soone sits on it. For accidentally kissing you, I apologize, but-”
“… You think a re apology will please ?” Sylvoir laughed coldly. “Don’t forget what you ca here tonight for.”
“Oh? You didn’t invite here tonight on purpose to listen to that conversation?” I raised an eyebrow. “Or was it… you secretly longed for that kiss, but just don’t want to admit it?”
“Hmph… don’t get ahead of yourself, brat. I won’t deny that conversation was part of the reason, but the main purpose was still to simply punish you. And now… I have even more of a reason to do so.”
“Huh-?!” I began, but it was too late. Sylvoir snapped her fingers, and imdiately, I felt my body tighten, binded by golden ropes.
“You… did you place these on just now, underneath the couch?”
Sylvoir snickered. “Heh. What do you think?”
“…” I fell into silence briefly, closing my eyes. Then…
“… Fine. If you want to play this dirty, then don’t bla for using my ultimate technique: escape!”
With this verdict, I used the tip of my fingers to reach out and take out the artifact Eve had left earlier this afternoon, only to see that it was… a batch of rope.
“… Oh.”
Sylvoir glanced at the item in my hands, and let out a pitiful laugh.
“… Little bastard… you think this is going to help you escape from the grasp of the most primitive being on this planet? Hmph. I may not be able to kill you, but I have a thousand and one torture thods in my arsenal, heheh.”
Faced with Sylvie’s sadistic, evil smirk, I had no choice but to admit defeat. I was wrong to have not checked what the artifact was beforehand… I have truly made a mistake.
Eve… I regret having blind faith in you! My life is done for! Ahhhh!
