Chapter 98: Chapter 31: Hunting the Evil Spirit Divine Mage

Just as the life-annihilating palm strikes were about to land,

BOOM!

A dull shockwave exploded in everyone’s ears.

The nurous palms that had been ambushing them all exploded at once, turning into Necromancy Black Mist.

Even so, the backs of several ordinary police officers were seared by the Necromancy Black Mist, and they cried out in pain.

The Transcendents who had snapped back to their senses all felt a surge of relief. ’If Zorn hadn’t just counterattacked, we would have all likely been injured, and the ordinary people would have probably all been killed instantly.’

Just as the Transcendents reacted and raised their guards,

Zorn moved like an afterimage, swiftly arriving in a nearby alleyway.

In the dark and silent alley, faintly illuminated by the scattered golden halo of the sun, a Level 5 Necromancer Bloodline Mage dressed in white sun robes stood shrouded within a plu of undead gray mist.

A strange expression appeared on his gaunt, hollowed-out face.

His sinister eyes stared at the reckless Level 3 Fighting Master.

The confrontation during the ritual just now

had wiped the world of its color and sound.

They had seized the opportunity to scatter and escape.

When he arrived here and saw these Low Level Transcendents and humans,

as a Necromancer Bloodline Mage, his first instinct was to kill these humans and turn them into Undead Warriors to create chaos.

This would not only create a better chance for him to escape,

but also deal a harsh blow to these reckless low-level Transcendents.

However, the Level Four Soul Feeder in the group was rather difficult to deal with.

Therefore, when he attacked, the Level Four Soul Feeder was his primary target.

But he never expected that his strike, which had covered everyone, would be shattered with a single punch by that insignificant Level 3 Fighting Master.

Moreover, that strange Gang Qi had not only illuminated his position but also caused his withered skin to feel a slight stinging sensation.

What stunned him even more was that

the reckless Fighting Master actually dared to charge him.

A Level 3 chasing a Level 5.

’Does he have a death wish?’

"Heheheh..."

A laugh like the rasp of old tree bark echoed through the alley.

At this mont, Director Caroline, Mr. Demon, and Miss Ranger also rushed over to provide support.

Even facing so many people,

the Level 5 Necromancer Bloodline Mage was still confident of victory.

It would just take a little more ti, that’s all.

"Hsss... ROAR..."

A sharp, piercing, and bizarre sound screeched from the black undead gray mist behind him.

Imdiately after, a giant, black, withered Undead hand, large enough to fill the alley, abruptly unfurled.

It lunged at the group with extre speed.

Just then,

a golden light descended from the sky.

BOOM!

The withered Undead hand was blocked by a Battle Shield bearing the symbol of the Holy Fierce Sun.

As that sacred power spread,

SZZZZZ...

the black, withered Undead hand was rapidly evaporated.

It was a Knight riding a Light Elental Warhorse, who had descended from the sky to block the attack.

The Knight on his Elental Warhorse was so burly and tall that he nearly filled the entire alley.

"Nice work. Leave the rest to !"

His voice was deep and resonant.

A Level 5 Sun Knight. This was the main force for fighting mbers of the Sun Secret Cult.

Seeing the Level 5 Sun Knight had caught up, the Necromancer Bloodline Mage

pushed his left hand against the wall.

A strange black ripple spread across the wall, and he sank directly into it, disappearing from sight.

The Sun Knight, riding his sun warhorse, leaped directly onto the wall and gave chase at high speed.

’A Level 5... he must be a powerful Grand Knight Commander,’ Zorn thought to himself.

’At least for now, the Holy Fierce Sun’s foundation is still very powerful.’

’If not for the internal strife, or if the continent hadn’t fallen into turmoil,’

’the Holy Fierce Sun’s dominion of Faith could have lasted for several more decades.’

’But the Holy Fierce Sun Church, which has ruled the continent for centuries,’

’has long since rotted from the inside out!’

’Now, all it takes is a solid kick,’

’and it will all co crashing down.’

’Of course, a group of powerful Knights with true Faith might also rush out and give you a brutal beating!’

This ti,

the Sun Secret Cult had clearly run into the latter.

With the Sun Knight in pursuit of the Necromancer Bloodline Mage, the entire city block erupted.

Throughout the area, the sounds of gunfire, combat, and clashes between Skills and Magic rose and fell, weaving a vast web of danger.

From ti to ti, terrifying roars would also ring out.

It was impossible to know which Summoning Elent master had summoned what terrifying creature.

BOOM... BOOM...

The violent impacts coming from deep within the buildings also revealed the intensity of the battle.

Not to ntion the terrifying struggle between the golden Holy Fierce Sun and the deathly silent Dark Jungle.

A confrontation of this intensity

would completely ruin the area around this city block.

Terrible corruption, embers of power, lingering taboos, and drifting curses!

For ordinary people, even coming close to any of it would be an unbearable and terrible disaster.

anwhile, the group had returned to the defensive line and continued to huddle together for protection.

Ti ticked by, second by second.

With the previous experience fresh in their minds, everyone was exceptionally cautious.

In the space of a breath, while maintaining his Forbidden Curse, Upper Rank: Ringed Snake’s Eye, in a low-energy state, Zorn gained a flash of Insight.

When he released a bit more of the Ringed Snake’s Eye’s power,

a very familiar aura and scent filled the air.

The Evil Spirit Divine Mage had actually fled from the vicinity of the block Zorn was guarding.

’Is this... the intersection of fate’s trajectories?’ Zorn’s thoughts stirred.

’Because he’s only Level 4... he was overlooked.’

’In this battle to besiege the Sun Secret Cult, many experts from both the Ogrande City governnt and the Holy Fierce Sun have co.’

’A Level 5 is already at the rank of a Vice Bishop.’

’That level can’t be let go. If one gets out, many experts will give chase.’

’A Level 4 is at the rank of a Priest.’

’Although the position is also high, they receive much less attention.’

’And that Evil Spirit Divine Mage just recently promoted to Level 4; his aura isn’t very strong.’

’Coupled with his excellent concealnt abilities, it resulted in no experts targeting him.’

Zorn composed himself and imdiately looked at Director Caroline.

"Director Caroline, I’ve discovered a powerful Level 3 fellow hiding his aura. He just passed by here, acting very sneakily. He might be an expert trained by the Sun Secret Cult."

"I’m planning to go after him."

Even though it was a Level 4 Evil Spirit Divine Mage, Zorn reported it as a mysterious Level 3 expert.

Naturally, he didn’t want anyone else to know he had so connection to the Evil Spirit Divine Mage.

Hearing this, Director Caroline’s brow twitched slightly.

She knew the characteristics of a Fighting Master; they needed to be in combat to make any gains.

The battle here had already co to an initial close.

There wasn’t much point in Zorn continuing to stand guard here.

It would be more effective for him to hunt down the enemy.

The higher-ups in Ogrande City and the Holy Fierce Sun Church both had missions related to this.

Hunt down as many as possible.

Zorn’s willingness to hunt the enemy was, naturally, an excellent thing.

She glanced at the increasingly scorching Holy Fierce Sun in the distance and the bizarre Dark Jungle that seed to be expanding, then nodded.

"Be careful, then."

"Capturing him alive would be for the best, but if you can’t, killing him directly is also fine."

"Okay!"

Zorn nodded.

’That was the good thing about working for the officials; you could kill freely, and if anything happened, they would cover for you.’

Then, Zorn activated his Thousand Stream Mist Step, speeding down the street before disappearing into an alley.

Deep inside the deserted alley,

Zorn pulled the "Witch’s Realm" directly from a pocket inside his clothes.

Before Zorn could speak, the Mirror Witch had already opened a gate to the "Mirror World" on one of the alley walls.

Zorn leaped in. The wall rippled like water, then returned to normal.

After entering the Mirror World,

Miss Mirror Witch was waiting off to the side, holding a ladies’ Monster Treasure Chest like a coat rack.

He took the black felt hat, Witch’s Mask, and Invisibility Cloak from the Mirror Witch and put them on.

His figure quickly grew taller by several inches, and after a series of rippling micro-adjustnts, his face beca cold and grim.

He had successfully transford into the indifferent young man, "Mr. Giant," Ogg Joffrey.

To store items in the Magic Mirror, one needed the Mirror Witch’s help to carry them.

A normal Transcendent who wanted to enter the Mirror World via the Magic Mirror would have to pay the price of losing their Mirror Image for a period of ti. How could they possibly be qualified to have the Mirror Witch carry things for them?

But in front of Zorn, Miss Mirror Witch beca courteous and polite.

His originally profound and vast Star Trace Fighter aura rapidly changed into the aura of an "Evil Wizard," carrying a faint trace of malevolence.

It was completely different from the deeply intense aura of an Evil Spirit Wizard.

And this was the benefit of Zorn’s long-term planning, his carefully laid foundations, and his leveraging of nurous powers.

He could perfectly conceal his Evil Spirit Sequence aura and display the aura of an "Evil Wizard."

He brushed a hand over his face, and a layer of Black Mist swirled over it.

His gaze passed through the Mirror World, a perfect reflection of reality.

The Evil Spirit Divine Mage, who was still unable to perfectly control his Sequence, had a faint aura that lingered, leaving an incredibly clear trail in the Mirror World.

Zorn’s pupils constricted as he examined it for a mont.

"After him!"

Following the Evil Spirit Divine Mage’s aura, Zorn gave chase.

After passing through three alleys, crossing two wide streets, and circling around the Fog Zone,

Zorn stopped on a street near the gray mist and the riverbank.

His silver, vertical pupils glowed with a cold light as he searched for the trail left by the Evil Spirit Divine Mage.

’A very cunning fellow. He entered the Fog Zone but didn’t go deep inside. After making a feint toward the Fog Zone, he headed south along the riverbank.’

’Is he... planning to escape to his steamship, pack his things, and run?’

Just as Zorn was looking for a suitable reflective surface to travel a long distance,

a cold set of Divine Curse Words suddenly rang out.

"...Divine Binding!"

Zorn couldn’t make out the low, secretive Spell that ca before, but the final words exploded in his ears.

Everything around him instantly dimd.

Dark clouds pressed down to the height of a two or three-story building.

Seven or eight thorny chains descended from the dark clouds, moving with the speed of a whirlwind to bind the unsuspecting Zorn tightly before he could react.

No matter how much Zorn struggled, he couldn’t break free.

"You’ve been chasing

this whole ti. I couldn’t shake you no matter what."

"Since you love the chase so much, you might as well die here!"

A voice like Divine Punishnt bood down.

From above the viscous dark clouds, a black Hamr of Divine Punishnt ca crashing down.

BOOM—

A violent explosion erupted across the entire street intersection.

A large number of passersby were caught in the sudden attack.

For a mont, screams, wails, and cries of pain rose and fell as people fled the area in droves.

At the sa ti Zorn’s body was smashed to pieces,

CRACK... CRACK...

the sound of a mirror shattering reached the Evil Spirit Divine Mage’s ears.

The world with the carriage before his eyes also shattered into pieces in an instant, just like a mirror.

Francis’s expression changed abruptly.

"Damn it... The one chasing

was a Mirror Image!"
