Chapter 97: Chapter 30: Make the World Lose Its Color

They opened fire on the charging carriages.

RAT-A-TAT-TAT...

Without a reasonable and effective way to counter them,

even a Level Three Transcendent would die under the concentrated fire of these steam guns and revolvers.

The charging carriages were imdiately taught a harsh lesson by the truth of the new era.

In an instant, chaos erupted as horses and carriages were overturned.

Just as the many police officers thought it was over,

seven or eight Transcendents suddenly burst from the wrecked carriages.

They charged toward the crowd, ready to kill.

There was an armored Warrior.

A hidden Assassin.

A Divine Mage who raised a Shield.

A Wizard who unleashed ice spikes.

And a Dream Maker.

The officers quickly opened fire.

But these people had clearly co prepared.

The Warrior at the front charged forward, using a shield he’d found sowhere to block the bullets.

In the midst of the attack, PSSSHH!

Blood gushed from a police officer’s neck like a waterfall.

An Assassin had snuck over.

Zorn’s Thousand Streams·Gale Step suddenly erupted.

He threw a punch at the empty air beside him.

With a dull THUD, a figure tumbled out of thin air.

It was a young nobleman in a brown formal suit. A trickle of blood escaped the corner of his mouth, and his eyes revealed a look of stunned disbelief.

He couldn’t believe that his prized Invisibility Skill had been so easily seen through, and that a single punch had broken him out of his stealth.

Zorn clenched his fist and charged forward.

This was a Level 2 Assassin, and his Sequence was clearly of average strength.

It was obviously a very common Sequence given by the Sun Secret Cult to a noble mber they were trying to win over.

Though it wasn’t strong, it was still an Extraordinary Sequence.

And with the resources of a nobleman, he had managed to reach Level 2.

Zorn could have finished him with a single punch.

However, this was a perfect opportunity to level up his Thousand Streams·Gale Step.

Zorn needed to pursue him for a while using Thousand Streams·Gale Step, and only then finish the kill.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

Zorn’s fists clashed with the Assassin’s weapon several tis in a row, sending sparks flying.

The dagger in his hand was nearly knocked loose, and the Assassin’s expression imdiately darkened.

He began to constantly dodge and weave around Zorn, trying to use his speed and agility to create distance.

But this only made Zorn more satisfied.

anwhile, the other Transcendents had also broken through the defensive line set up by the police officers.

The few Transcendents on the police side imdiately began to fight these Sun Secret Cult mbers.

If these few Transcendents hadn’t been present,

the thirty-odd regular police officers would most likely have been slaughtered by these enemy Transcendents.

But with the allied Transcendents here, it was the attackers who were dood to be annihilated.

After fighting with the Assassin for a mont longer,

Sensing the ti was right,

power erupted from Zorn’s feet.

He brought down a Heavy Strike with Shattering Spirit·Skull-Splitting Fist.

The Level 2 Assassin tried to use his Block Skill to parry it.

But he had clearly underestimated the power of this punch.

CRACK... BANG!

The punch shattered the bones in the Assassin’s arm before landing squarely on his skull.

The young noble Assassin collapsed to the ground, no longer breathing!

A single, fatal blow.

It was just that simple.

Turning around, Zorn rejoined the battle.

After all, the other Transcendents weren’t nearly as capable in a fight as he was.

And for Zorn, a nutrient for his Evil Spirit Wizard Sequence was slaughter.

The more he killed, the more he gained.

Even without absorbing his opponent’s Sequence Spiritual Essence,

the act of killing alone was enough to earn Zorn a handso sum of Spiritual Essence.

This batch of charging Transcendents was not particularly strong.

With Zorn joining the fight,

the battle naturally beca one-sided.

After killing four Transcendents in a row, Zorn finally eased up a bit.

Killing too many could easily expose his true strength.

After finishing off this group of Transcendents and dragging their bodies aside,

Director Caroline quickly re-established the defensive line.

Zorn, anwhile, stood behind a corner, experiencing the breakthrough of his Thousand Streams·Gale Step.

The other Transcendents, however, all glanced at Zorn to varying degrees.

’This Fighting Master is incredibly strong.’

That was everyone’s shared consensus.

Then, everyone turned their attention back to the Golden Palm Beach Club in the distance.

But the scene that t their eyes made every one of their expressions grow increasingly grim.

Thousand Streams·Gale Step: Level 1 (0%)

Zorn, in the corner, examined his newly broken-through Thousand Streams·Gale Step and nodded slightly.

After the breakthrough, Zorn’s speed was undoubtedly faster.

Furthermore, he could now combine it with his other techniques to do many things that were previously impossible.

Slowly composing himself, Zorn looked toward the distant Golden Palm Beach Club.

He saw that the top three or four floors of the seven- or eight-story Golden Palm Beach Club building had been torn to shreds by a terrifying power.

Large amounts of debris were scattered in all directions.

A golden sun was slowly rising above the building.

RUMBLE...

RUMBLE...

Amidst the deafening roar, bolts of golden lightning fell again and again, lashing the building below as if to tear everything apart.

But from the building below, black trees, vines, ancient woods, flowers, and plants were growing at an incredible speed, forming a dense, nacing jungle that continuously blocked the falling golden lightning.

Not only was an eerie black Forest growing around the club, but strange black patches of grass and trees were constantly appearing in the surrounding blocks as well.

Deep within the black jungle, a blurry figure could be vaguely seen.

The terrifying powers of Sequence Forbidden Curses were clashing.

The entire city block was covered in a golden halo by the sun.

Zorn even felt a strange sense of comfort, as if he were bathing on the edge of a sumr beach.

But the eerie black jungle was terrifying.

A horrifying power was brewing deep within the black jungle.

RUMBLE...

As the roar of thunder echoed throughout Ogrande City,

countless gazes converged from all directions.

They all saw the golden sun slowly rising within Ogrande City.

It grew hotter and larger, surging with imnse power.

"Great Holy Fierce Sun!"

"Great Holy Fierce Sun..."

The mont the golden sun rose over Ogrande City,

large numbers of Believers fell to their knees in worship, praising the greatness of the Holy Fierce Sun.

And at this mont,

the gigantic golden Holy Fierce Sun ascended step by step, scattering its golden halo and ripples to every corner of Ogrande City.

It was about to bring a holy baptism to Ogrande City.

Just as the attention of the many Transcendents was fixed on the distant battle between the powerhouses,

a withered hand carrying Necromantic Power blood silently behind all of the Transcendents.

It descended gently, as if to annihilate all life.

"We’re screwed!"

"Damn it!"

Director Caroline, Mr. Demon, and Miss Ranger all sensed the surprise attack, but it was too late to react.

This damned attacker was exceptionally cunning, launching a sneak attack from behind while everyone was watching the Holy Fierce Sun.

But Zorn, in the crowd, was like a Prophet. He suddenly threw a punch behind him.

It was like a teor piercing the darkness.

The punch flew against the tide, and the clear light of the stars it carried perfectly illuminated the attacker’s face.

It was the Vice Bishop, dressed in the Sun Short Robe of the Sun Secret Cult.

A Level 5 Necromancer Bloodline Mage.

An insidious, cunning, and malicious Sequence!
