If the demon core in their brains isn’t destroyed, they cannot be killed. They seem to have been ordinary people or beings when alive, but once their blood and energy were drained, their bodies rotted away, leaving only their souls contaminated by demonic qi. Though not strong individually, there are simply too many of them,” Gu Hualing explained.
“The contamination affects not just them; so beings of the demon race have also been tainted, turning into magical beasts that know nothing but slaughter,” Cheng Yaojin added.
“You all said those demon spirits are generally not powerful, so I believe the Demon Clan would not waste resources by turning Lu Huaming into one, provided they’re not foolish. Lu Huaming’s strength and the Great Tang Governnt’s backing make him valuable, so I’m sure he’s alright,” Shen Luo declared firmly.
Hearing this, Gu Hualing’s eyes sparkled with hope.
“National Master, I’ve decided not to accompany you to the Heavenly Palace; I must make a trip to Northern Ju Lu Continent to bring Lu Huaming back,” Shen Luo said to Yuan Tiangang.
Yuan Tiangang nodded, not surprised at all, as if he had anticipated Shen Luo’s decision.
“I should be the one to go as his master…” Cheng Yaojin said with a guilty expression.

While he trusted Shen Luo’s strength and hoped he would successfully rescue Lu Huaming, the Northern Ju Lu Continent was now akin to a perilous dragon’s den, and he couldn’t allow Shen Luo to gamble his life.

“I’ll go with you,” Gu Hualing suddenly said.

Upon hearing this, Shen Luo paused slightly, unsure of how to counter.
“With accompanying you, the chances of rescuing Lu Huaming increase,” Gu Hualing stressed again.
“But your injuries…” Cheng Yaojin expressed concern.
“I can recover during the journey to Northern Ju Lu Continent; it’s not a problem,” Gu Hualing replied imdiately.
Seeing her resolve, the others found it difficult to continue objecting. Yuan Tiangang promptly took out a bottle of healing pills for her, urging, “Even if ti is tight, missing a day won’t make a difference. Rest and recuperate today, and set off tomorrow.”

From a distance, Shen Luo spotted a figure standing outside the city gate, who looked sowhat familiar. Upon careful inspection, he was montarily taken aback, then smiled wryly.
The person was wearing a moon-white monk robe, with a slender stature and handso features, exuding an air of a young noble. It was none other than Bai Xiaotian.
As Shen Luo spotted Bai Xiaotian, Bai Xiaotian also noticed him and Gu Hualing and approached them.

Shen Luo quickly admitted fault and apologized, prompting Bai Xiaotian to release him.
