Eleanor Hollis took a deep breath before stepping through the door.

Several people sat on the sofa in the living room, all of them elders of the Quinton Family, whom she had never seen before; yet tonight, they all gathered.

"Eleanor, co here."

Old Master Quinn gestured, pointing to a spot in front of him, and frowned slightly upon seeing the swelling on her face.

Eleanor obediently walked over; despite her grievances against the Quinton Family, she dared not act out in front of this elderly man.

"I heard you and Nathaniel are getting divorced, Eleanor. When your grandfather passed away, he entrusted to ensure you stayed with the Quinton Family. Your parents have already given up on you. Without the protection of the Quintons, it’d be tough for you to survive out there."

Everything Old Master Quinn said was truly the case. Eleanor indeed lacked parental love. Her mother sent her to the countryside, severing ties with her grandparents in a fury. Consequently, she grew up in the countryside.

"Grandpa Quinn, I’m the one who wants the divorce this ti."

She touched her swollen face and said, a cold smile appearing at the corner of her mouth.

Beatrice Sullivan was trying desperately to curry favor with Old Master Quinn; she couldn’t let her succeed.

Old Master Quinn’s frown deepened at her gesture, wondering if this child had been hit.

He glanced at Beatrice Sullivan and Joelle Quinn as they entered, thinking that the second son’s family, true to form, remained disgraceful.

He hadn’t paid much attention to Eleanor’s life over the years, believing she was having a good ti with the Quintons. But now it seed she was constantly bullied.

She didn’t even dare to tell the truth in front of him, under these circumstances, the divorce indeed seed warranted.

"You’ve been with the Quintons for five years. Even if divorced, you shouldn’t leave with nothing. Nathaniel, you have so many properties under your na. Gift Eleanor a house at random; don’t have her leave without a place to live."

He was testing his grandson with these words to gauge his attitude towards Eleanor.

Nathaniel Quinn’s face darkened halfway, as Serenford was the largest trade city in the country, the price of any random house wasn’t just a re million. How could Eleanor get such a windfall?

He was about to speak but noticed Joelle Quinn had already interjected ahead of him.

"Grandpa! That house is my brother’s premarital property, having nothing to do with Eleanor Hollis. It was she who wanted the divorce, so why should we compensate her? Perhaps she has a fling outside, which is why she doesn’t want to stay with my brother!"

Joelle spoke without restraint in front of the old master.

Eleanor sat there calmly, her hands clenched into fists on her knees, showcasing a deanor of endurance.

Compared to Joelle’s arrogance, she resembled a neglected child.

Old Master Quinn instantly exploded, slamming the table hard. "Absurd!! Joelle, without evidence, you sar your sister-in-law! Who taught you that?!"

Seeing the old man genuinely angry, Beatrice Sullivan hurriedly pulled Joelle’s hand, signaling her to speak less.

"Dad, Joelle is still young and immature. Don’t take her seriously."

Old Master Quinn squinted his eyes, having discerned the family’s attitude towards Eleanor. Suddenly, he felt he’d failed his friend, causing his chest to swell with indignation.

Eleanor remained silent, for there was no need for her to say much now. The old master was a smart man; he must have already figured things out.
