She hadn’t visited the manor many tis, each occasion filled with trepidation, and she had barely interacted with Old Master Quinn. He must have heard about her divorce and, out of respect for her late grandfather, was compelled to make that call.

After all, everyone knew why she had married Nathaniel Quinn in the first place.

The Quinton Family is quite complicated. Nathaniel’s father was Old Master Quinn’s second son, whereas the uncle she was supposed to et tonight was the youngest son whom the Quinton elders cherished. At the ti, Old Madam Quinn was in her forties during the pregnancy, requiring the doctors to exert all efforts for the mother and child’s well-being.

Naturally, that uncle was spoiled since childhood, and in terms of age, he was only a few years apart from her, causing an implicit awkwardness each ti she addressed that young man as uncle.

Soon the car stopped at Quinton Manor. Eleanor Hollis hesitated to get out, feeling her current state sowhat disheveled, and her face was swollen.

Before she even entered the hall, she saw Joelle Quinn waiting outside.

Joelle’s face was filled with malice, "If you dare speak ill of my brother in front of Grandpa, I’ll tear your mouth apart right there. Eleanor Hollis, you signed that divorce agreent yourself, so don’t think Grandpa will pity you and you’ll co crawling back shalessly!"

Eleanor loosened her hair and used a hair tie to pull it back again; she didn’t want to et Old Master Quinn looking disheveled.

"Eleanor Hollis! I’m talking to you!"

Joelle said this and tried to push her, but was stopped by Beatrice Sullivan.

"Joelle! This is the manor, don’t be so impulsive."

Beatrice Sullivan was Joelle’s mother, and Eleanor’s forr mother-in-law.

"Eleanor, you know well that after marrying into the Quinn Family, you haven’t had a child in five years. Even a streetwalker should show so results after five years. Don’t bla anyone for your divorce with Nathaniel. In this day and age, no one wants a woman who can’t conceive. We pitied you when you lost a child and took care of you for five years, so hopefully there’s so gratitude in your heart. Don’t talk nonsense in front of the elders later, or your grandmother’s illness won’t be cured in a lifeti."

Beatrice wore a smiling face as she affectionately approached to hold her arm, "You know how we treated you well, deep down. Old Master Quinn values your grandfather’s relationship with him and will certainly ask why you got divorced. Don’t leave us with any embarrassing remarks."

Eleanor saw her extending hand and felt it was like a venomous snake, hurriedly dodging away, "I understand, Mrs. Quinn, don’t worry, I won’t say anything inappropriate."

This marriage had long lost its point to continue, especially with such an unfaithful man; she wasn’t keen on holding onto it any longer. Since he favored Grace Lynch, she would let go, and see if those two can stay together in the end.

"Mom, look at her attitude! Pretending we’ve mistreated her! Humph!"

Joelle couldn’t bear holding it in against Eleanor for even a mont, rembering how this woman had even hit her, stirring a burst of anger inside.

Beatrice calmly withdrew her hand, unbothered by any embarrassnt, "Eleanor, I know you’re a smart person, go on in."

This sentence was a veiled threat: if she spoke wrongly before Old Master Quinn tonight, even money wouldn’t be able to heal her grandmother’s illness.

The Quinton Family has significant power, and for Beatrice to obstruct things would be very simple.
