The sun quietly shone over the rolling hills of Kapu.

Soldiers on the castle walls were taking down the rosemary flags symbolizing the Beisher Family, along with the antler flags symbolizing the original lords of Kapu. In their place, a black flag was hoisted.

People busy at the foot of the mountain stopped one by one to watch.

...

Dovna coldly questioned, "Haven’t you found them yet? They’re just two ordinary people, and you’ve been searching all night? Still nothing?"

The middle-aged knight wiped his sweat and replied, "My lady, we were delayed too long by the one called Erwin, and completely lost track of those two who escaped. The casualties were heavy, his magic equipnt was too formidable. If not for his magic stone running out at the end, we wouldn’t have stood a chance."

"Heavy casualties an you don’t know to summon other troops?"

"The other troops were only assembled this morning..."

"You told everything was ready, and yet you only prepared one troop? Is that what you’re saying?" Dovna’s voice suddenly rose by eight octaves.

"I..." The middle-aged knight kept wiping his sweat, stamring, "You said there were just three human knights, so I didn’t expect..."

"So it’s my fault, is it?" Dovna’s gaze grew even colder.

"I wouldn’t dare!" The middle-aged knight was so frightened he dropped to one knee, hurriedly saying, "I will imdiately gather all available forces, no matter what; we will find them within three days! All exits are blocked, they can’t leave Kapu!"

Quietly watching the trembling middle-aged knight, after a while, Dovna finally stepped forward and walked past him.

As she passed the middle-aged knight, Dovna softly said, "Three days. You better keep your promise and bring those two to in three days."

The door was wide open.

Dovna left, leaving only the middle-aged knight in the entire hall, yet he remained kneeling on one knee, unmoving.

A Green-armored Knight, with his hand wrapped in bandages and one side of his face swollen, hurriedly entered from outside, reaching out to help the middle-aged knight to his feet.

"Lord Sean, are you okay?"

"I’m fine... What could be wrong? It’s just a scolding, after all."

"We injured so many people, and she did nothing, yet she dares to bla us. It’s really too much. We helped her overthrow the Earl, and now it feels like life is even harder."

"Shh... Miller, don’t talk nonsense; if she hears, it’ll be troubleso." After thinking for a mont, the middle-aged knight nad Sean whispered to the Green-armored Knight nad Miller, "That armor set..."

"The one Erwin wore last night?"

"Yes, that one. Find a way to make him reveal how to replace the magic stone and how to use it. Once we capture the other two, we’ll have three sets of magic armor. Our situation will be different by then."

"But... she has demons behind her."

"Do you think demons care about who is loyal to them?"

"I understand." Miller nodded firmly.

"Go. Do it quietly, don’t let her find out."

"Alright."

Turning around, Miller quickly left the hall.

...

At the castle gate, the carter delivering supplies was being checked by soldiers.

The soldiers on the walls glanced back now and then.

The entire castle was silent.

...

In the corner of the castle courtyard, a window tightly against the ground resembling a drainage outlet let a slanted shaft of sunlight fall on Erwin’s face in the cell.

With a slight flicker of his eyelids, he opened his eyes. Moving slightly, a wave of pain brought sweat to his brow.

He could only grit his teeth and endure it.

Injuries covered his body; though minor, their multitude was overwhelming.

With great difficulty, Erwin finally managed to regain his composure, inching towards the corner to sit.

There is always a gap between ideals and reality. As proved by experience, adventure did not et Erwin’s expectations.

Villains might not be more cunning than those in stories, but whether one can calmly make the right decision at the crucial mont is a real issue.

"Maybe I shouldn’t have considered sneaking into Kapu from the start; it sounds thrilling, but it was indeed a foolish idea. When were we exposed? We’d just arrived on the first day... No, it wasn’t even 24 hours. From arrival to incident, it was only four or five hours. So, it was undoubtedly a pre-set trap. Was it Mr. Simon’s probing that was exposed? Or were we already exposed when leaving White City?"

"We were actually quite low-key in White City. If leaving White City exposed us, it ans they had agents there, who were very deeply concealed."

"They must have been preparing for a long ti. Acting against Kapu is a matter of recent months, but the planning likely started a year ago."

Mumbling to himself, Erwin began coughing violently, bringing up a trace of blood.

In a daze, Erwin suddenly realized Dovna was standing in front of him, breaking out in a cold sweat.

"You! When did you co in?"

"Just now, when you were talking to yourself about when we discovered you. Haven’t I already said, Aspa is watching you? You don’t believe ?" Dovna said, her eyes unblinking, expressionless.

It must be said, Dovna’s appearance was indeed a bit terrifying.
