"Of course I don’t mind. How could I mind?" Mosharili said sweetly with a smile. "Do you have any other questions?"

"I want to know who I should approach for the administrative position?"

"You’re interested in the administrative position? That kind of role will eat into your study ti."

"That’s fine. I can’t afford to do experints anyway, so extra study ti isn’t useful."

"Don’t you read the textbooks?"

"I’ve read all the textbooks for every grade. Only experints can help improve."

"Alright... Then you can go find Instructor Barnes. She can help you register and explain what needs to be done."

"Instructor Barnes? That’s great, I already know her! Thank you, Mosha... Mosha, um... what’s your na again?"

"Mosharili!"

"Thank you, Mosharili!" Without turning back, Angel walked away.

Mosharili stood where she was, still smiling as she watched Angel’s retreating figure.

The female classmate who ca with her quietly leaned closer and whispered, "If it were , I’d trip him, then stomp his face into the ground with my heel. Ideally, the heel would be stuck right in his mouth. Talked with you all afternoon, and he still can’t rember your na. And after you introduced yourself twice, no less."

Mosharili defended earnestly, "He didn’t do it on purpose."

"Hah." The classmate rolled her eyes helplessly. "It’s precisely because it ’wasn’t on purpose’ that it stinks..."

...

To Angel, what was the Magic Academy like?

A sea of knowledge! A hall of Magic!

And then?

And then... lots of Blood Elves? Yeah, that’s about it. In truth, he’d only rembered two nas so far, one belonged to his ntor Amos Mage, and the other was Instructor Barnes.

Amos Mage’s na was impossible to forget since he was Angel’s own ntor—trying to forget would be wishful thinking.

Instructor Barnes’ na stuck because Angel was a special recruit, which ant Barnes had to handle many of his procedures personally, leading to frequent interactions—forgetting her would be just as difficult.

As for everyone else?

To Angel, they were nothing more than symbols, perhaps not even that. Just like earlier with Mosharili, Angel couldn’t recall even her na, although he could rember magic incantations at a glance.

After walking through the long corridor, Angel soon arrived before Barnes, who was busy and visibly frazzled, and smiled at her.

Barnes, hunched over her desk writing sothing, glanced up at him briefly. "Angel, what brings you here?"

"I want to sign up for the administrative position election," Angel said directly.

"You want to run for the election? Why?"

"Because I want to earn money. I need money."

"But hasn’t Amos Mage already offered you the position of experint assistant? You shouldn’t be short of money."

"How is that possible? The pay is too little; it’s not even enough for one experint."

"Experint?" Barnes looked a bit puzzled.

"Buying materials," Angel explained.

"Doesn’t Amos Laboratory have plenty of materials? I don’t think he’d refuse you unless it’s sothing extrely expensive."

"But so materials are still missing; after all, those are for his experints, not mine. I can only use his surplus materials."

Indeed, the material costs Angel ntioned—twenty silver coins, eighty silver coins per experint—were calculated after deducting the materials already available in Amos Laboratory. In Angel’s opinion, materials already in the lab were essentially free.

"Alright, I think I understand. But... my advice is not to proceed," Barnes explained. "An administrative position takes up too much ti. You should spend more ti learning. As for the materials... the courses at school will provide students with the necessary materials. You can just wait until it’s your turn."

"But... what about materials that aren’t covered by relevant courses?"

"Then don’t use them! If you keep exploring Magic with that mindset, you’ll go bankrupt. Even Amos Mage only conducts experints after securing funding; otherwise, his monthly inco of two thousand silver coins wouldn’t even cover his experintal costs. Do you think you could manage it?"

Angel silently gazed at Barnes.

Barnes silently gazed back at him.

The two stared at each other, saying nothing. The surroundings humd with the noise of people coming and going.

After a long mont of silence, Angel asked quietly, "Do you have a form? Maybe I could start by filling one out."

"Alright, I knew I couldn’t persuade you. How could I possibly convince soone who’s 35 years old and still applying to the Magic Academy?" Barnes shook her head helplessly but nonetheless pulled open a drawer, retrieving a form and handing it to Angel. "There’s an ergency election tonight. Six slots in total. So dropped due to various reasons, so replacents are needed urgently. The primary election happens only once a year, two months from now."

Angel grabbed a pen, bowed his head to fill in the form, and asked while writing, "Since it’s an election, what should I do?"

"Deliver a speech, then they’ll vote. That’s about it."

"Who votes?"

"All incumbent administrative mbers."

"Incumbent administrative mbers? I thought it’d be all the students at school, or teaching assistants like you, or maybe even the Mages voting."

"Not a chance." Barnes chuckled and explained, "Ergency elections happen often. You think I could gather all the Magic apprentices every two weeks to have them vote? That would be too much of a waste of ti and resources. As for teaching assistants, we’re just here to provide support—students mainly manage themselves unless sothing major cos up. As for the Mages... I’ll bet my reputation that none of them would be interested in such events, let alone voting."
