The Lich of Glory Knight Spirit: Moving towards Krimasha! Chapter 54 - 38: The Knight’s Wanderings (Part 2)2
"Who knows?"
The patrons were all chattering.
A drunkard staggered over to Gray, "Baron Gray, do you rember ? I once gave you two silver coins, do you rember?"
Gray was stunned for a long ti before he rembered, "I rember now. I gave you silver coins."
"Yes, you gave a hundred, then I offered you two," the drunkard laughed, grabbing Gray’s hand, "I lost all my money again, it’s all your fault, you gave so much money. Now I not only lost everything, but I also owe a lot. This is your responsibility; you must compensate and give more money. This ti I need two hundred."
"But I don’t have any money on ."
"You don’t have money?" The smile on the drunkard’s face disappeared, "Who are you kidding? You’re a noble, how could you have no money? You just don’t want to give it to !"
Gray stared at him in shock.
"Give money! You must have money on you!" the drunkard said as he reached out to search Gray.
The bartender couldn’t stand it any longer and whispered: "Get this guy out."
Soon, three burly n appeared before Gray. They separated the drunkard from Gray and escorted the drunkard out the door.
The drunkard was still struggling and shouting, "You’re not giving money! What kind of knight are you! Where’s your knightly honor?"
"Shut up! If you keep talking nonsense, you’ll get beaten!"
The drunkard was thrown out.
When they returned, the burly n shrugged apologetically at Gray, "Sorry for the disturbance. We hope Baron Gray doesn’t mind."
"Thank you, thank you so much!" Gray bowed sincerely to them.
"No need to thank us." The burly n whistled as they returned to their seats.
The tavern erupted into laughter and the noise resud.
Gray found a place to sit.
"Baron, would you like sothing?" the bartender asked while wiping a glass.
Gray looked around and noticed no one was gambling today. He could only say, "I don’t have any money."
"No money? Oh, would you like to treat you to a drink then?"
"No, that’s not necessary. Just let sit here for a mont."
Thinking it over, the bartender said, "Alright then, the custors are few today. The seat is available. I hope you enjoy your stay."
"Thank you."
Gray sat quietly, as still as a piece of armor.
The people around him gradually paid less attention to him and went back to their own amusents.
The Black Cat quietly said, "The human world is complicated, you gave that guy money, but he lost even more because of it. In the end, he only rembered giving you two silver coins. Were you really helping him?"
In the tavern, a prostitute and a client began to argue. The client slapped the prostitute and cursed.
"Look at that woman; according to knightly honor, you should help her. But she has no other ans to support herself. If you teach the client a lesson, she will face more trouble later."
A drunkard was thrown out for not paying his tab.
"Look at that man; according to knightly honor, you should help him too. But he is addicted to alcohol. If you give him money, he’ll just drink more, which is bad for his health. He could die in so corner, leaving behind his poor and helpless family."
A musician was splashed with beer by a drunk patron and pressured to apologize, while the perpetrator laughed.
"If you help him, he can no longer perform here and must leave his ho. He won’t appreciate your help; he might even resent you. Do you want that?"
"No, but... what am I supposed to do?"
"I don’t know either, I was never a knight. But I think maybe no one knows what to do, which is why true knights are so rare. Most people just watch from the sidelines and don’t intervene. This is how most people understand knightly honor. There’s always a reason behind everything; it’s not sothing one person can change."
"Unachievable oaths, what’s the point of swearing them? Was the knight’s vow ant to be broken from the start?"
"I know it’s hard to hear, Gray, but it’s the truth. Knightly honor has withered; it’s not like the knight dramas. You might be the last ’adult’ who believes in knightly vows in this world. If a hundred-fifty-year-old Lich can be considered an ’adult.’"*
Gray slowly stood up.
"What are you doing?"
"I’m leaving. Not only did I not find the answers I was looking for here, but I also feel even more lost," Gray said.
...
At this mont, Yilin was already at the port, preparing to board the ship.
A large group of soldiers had already started lining up, boarding the ship in the dark.
"Careful, don’t rush! Making too much noise will alert the other side!"
"Shh! Shh!"
Turning her face, Yilin looked at the opposite bank against the wind.
The camp on the other side appeared normal, probably not noticing anything yet.
The river was about two kiloters wide. From this distance, even if there were so noise here, it wouldn’t be easily detected there unless there were torches lit or a whole army causing a commotion.
Of course, even if they were discovered, it didn’t matter; Yilin had ways to handle it. Though she didn’t understand why the King attacked the Beisher Duchy this way, now was undoubtedly the best opportunity.
As long as she defeated the King, just once, she would successfully protect the Beisher Family.
"There shouldn’t be any problems, right." She bit her lip and said to herself, "I can do it; I can definitely protect the Beisher Family!"
"Miss Yilin! Baron Gray has been found!" Mike hurriedly arrived, out of breath.
Yilin turned sharply but quickly collected herself, "Where was he found?"
"Just outside the camp."
"Where is he? Bring him to ."
"Yes!"
"Miss Yilin..." Ebi Robos hesitated to speak.
Yilin sighed, "Gray is my lucky knight. With him here, I feel more at ease."
Soon, Gray was brought before her. He was pushed along, looking sowhat flustered.
"What are you doing?" Yilin barked at the soldiers pushing Gray.*
Gray silently watched her.
"It’s good to have you back. Get ready to board the ship. Just follow ." With that, Yilin turned to walk towards the pier.
Just then, sothing unexpected happened.
"Gray" suddenly roared, drew a dagger, and took a step forward, grabbing Yilin from behind and pressing the dagger to her throat, dragging her towards the pier.
The scene instantly fell into chaos, everyone stunned, swords quickly drawn from their sheaths.*
"Gray! What are you doing—!" Huoersi bellowed.*
"You’re not Gray." Yilin gasped heavily, glaring at the person holding her.
"I never said I was." A raspy voice replied. The person wearing the sa armor as Gray laughed, "How did you think of keeping soone in the army who no one had seen? Soone who could easily get close to you. It was so easy to impersonate him. Hahaha."
Yilin’s eyes widened in terror.*
...
At this mont, the real Gray was still lying on the grass where he and Shelley picnicked, staring at the sky in a daze.
