Path 1 – The World Moves On
The first breath of fresh air felt strange after the stifling presence of the Forgotten Gate. As Mallory and her friends erged from the underground ruins, the weight of what they had done settled over them.
They had sealed the gate, trapping whatever lay beyond. But the king’s words echoed in Mallory’s mind:
"No seal lasts forever."
She glanced at the sky—gray clouds churned above them, unnatural in their stillness. The land itself seed uncertain, as if reality hadn’t yet decided whether to calm or break.
Greg groaned, rubbing his arms. "I hate this. The apocalypse was bad enough—now we’ve added ’haunted sky’ to the list of things trying to kill us."
Quinn adjusted his twin daggers. "At least we’re alive. Let’s call that a win and get moving before sothing else tries to eat us."
Mallory agreed. They needed to leave the ruins behind—but the problem was, where to next?
Alex knelt, tracing his fingers over the cracked earth. "The magic here hasn’t settled. We need to watch for aftershocks."
"Aftershocks?" Greg asked, alard.
Alex nodded. "Sealing a gate doesn’t just erase its influence. There will be places where reality is weaker—like echoes of what once was."
Mallory grimaced. "So we didn’t just stop a catastrophe. We spread it."
Elara folded her arms. "No choice cos without consequences."
The words sat heavy on Mallory’s chest, but she pushed forward. They had a long journey ahead.
As they walked, the land around them shifted—trees that had once stood tall now twisted unnaturally, rivers ran in reverse, and whispers still lingered in the wind. The Forgotten Gate had been sealed... but the world had already begun to change.
Sowhere in the distance, a shadow moved.
And the hunt began.

Path 2 – The Breaking of Reality
Darkness.
Then light.
Then sothing beyond both—sothing infinite, unknowable.
Mallory stood on the threshold of existence, her mind stretched across ti, space, and power. The entity had beco part of her, and she of it.
Her friends watched in horror, their faces distant, unimportant.
Greg was screaming.
Quinn had drawn his weapons.
Elara was casting every spell she knew, but none of them worked.
The Forgotten King’s form wavered, the ancient ghost unable to bear the presence of what Mallory had beco. "You do not understand what you have unleashed," he said.
Mallory smiled.
"Don’t I?"
She raised a hand, and the air rippled.
The ruins shifted, folding inward like paper. The Forgotten Gate was gone—but instead of sealing it, she had beco its key.
The entity whispered to her, filling her mind with knowledge, with possibilities.
"You are beyond them now. Beyond kings and ghosts. Beyond ti."
She could see everything.
She could change everything.
Power humd through her veins, and for the first ti in her life, she felt whole.
And then—
Greg stepped forward.
His hands shook, but his eyes held fierce determination. "Mallory. Listen to . I don’t know what’s happening to you, but you don’t want this."
Mallory tilted her head. "You assu I have a choice."
Greg clenched his jaw. "There’s always a choice."
A flicker of sothing—doubt? humanity?—passed through Mallory’s mind.
The entity recoiled.
Greg took another step. "You’re not a god. You’re not a monster. You’re Mallory. Our Mallory."
Sothing cracked in her mind.
Sothing human.
The power surged, resisting, fighting to consu her completely. The entity shrieked, twisting around her, trying to drown her in its will.
But Greg refused to let go.
And Mallory had to choose—
To embrace the entity completely and ascend beyond mortality—
Or to hold onto herself and fight back.

Path 1 – The World Moves On (Continued)
Their journey took them north, where reports of strange disturbances had begun to spread. Cities once untouched by the apocalypse were now suffering spontaneous reality fractures.
People vanished, only to reappear days later with no mory of where they had gone.
Monsters that had never existed before now road freely.
And through it all, one na kept appearing in whispers—
Mallory.
Not her, but sothing that bore her na.
Greg noticed it first. A worn piece of parchnt, nailed to an old wooden post. The ink was faded, but the words were clear.
"Beware the Shadow of Mallory."
Greg turned to her, face pale. "I know we sealed that thing. So tell why people still think it’s here."
Mallory stared at the parchnt, unease crawling up her spine.
She had a feeling the Forgotten King’s warning hadn’t been just words.
Sowhere out there, the entity was still reaching for her.
And the seal would not hold forever.

Path 2 – The Breaking of Reality (Continued)
The struggle lasted only seconds—but to Mallory, it felt like eternity.
Greg’s voice was distant, but it was real. More real than the infinite knowledge flooding her mind, more real than the power tearing her apart.
She could feel herself slipping away, becoming sothing more and sothing less all at once.
The entity scread in her mind:
"LET GO. BECO WHAT YOU ARE ANT TO BE."
But she didn’t want to be sothing else.
She wanted to be herself.
With a final, desperate effort, Mallory tore away from the entity’s grasp, severing the connection.
The backlash sent her sprawling, the world shattering around her.
When she opened her eyes, she was on the ground, panting. Her hands trembled—but they were her hands. No longer shifting between reality and nightmare.
The entity was gone.
Or at least, it was no longer inside her.
Greg grabbed her shoulders. "Mallory! Are you—?"
She nodded, even though she didn’t feel fine.
Sothing had changed.
The Forgotten King had vanished. The ruins were crumbling, as if the very fabric of their existence had been unwoven.
Alex helped her stand. His expression was unreadable. "What did you see?"
Mallory exhaled. "Everything."
Quinn stepped beside them, blade still drawn. "And what are we supposed to do now?"
Mallory looked at the sky.
It had changed.
No longer the sa gray clouds—but fractured, as if the world itself had been rewritten.
She had won.
But at what cost?
