"Is my gift really that strange? What’s with those looks? Do I seem like such a miser to you?" Ji Mingqian beca annoyed and embarrassed, glaring back at them, speaking with irritation.

Without a second thought, Li Mochan responded, "You do."

Ji Mingqian, "..."

This guy must be looking to pick a fight with him, right?

"Why are you giving Asheng a necklace?" Ye Jiuliang looked at him with curious eyes, speculating, "Did you do sothing to wrong her, and you’re using the necklace as a way to apologize?"

As a couple, they always seed to think the worst of him. Ji Mingqian was so annoyed he could die, wishing he could take a large hamr and smash them both.

"It’s just a necklace, what are you thinking? Hurry up and scram." He said with disdain.

Ye Jiuliang chuckled, hooking his arm around Li Mochan’s elbow, "I’m hungry. Let’s find sothing to eat."

After seeing off Li Mochan and his partner, Ji Mingqian took a breath of relief.

At last, they had left.

He looked down at the necklace in the palm of his hand and smiled.

He thought that he had thrown away the necklace he gave him. It seems he still had so conscience, after all.

anwhile.

Leaving the hospital and reaching the car, an intense wave of nausea hit Ye Jiuliang, and his complexion changed slightly. He turned and ran towards a large tree across the road.

Li Mochan grabbed a pack of tissues and with long strides, caught up to her in no ti.

Under the tree, the slender figure of the woman was hunched over, curled up into a ball, her silhouette sowhat pitiful.

"Ugh—"

Ye Jiuliang heaved, having hardly eaten anything all day. What ca out was just water, nothing more.

Her stomach churned, feeling extrely uncomfortable.

Li Mochan crouched down beside her, pulling out a tissue to wipe her mouth corner with gentle movents, "What’s wrong, did you go too long without eating?"

Looking up, her pale, jade-like cheeks showed an unhealthy pallor, and the corners of her reddened eyes were damp, instantly tugging at Li Mochan’s heartstrings.

Her soft voice, slightly hoarse, spoke, "It’s terrible."

Li Mochan’s heart lted into a ss, his cool fingertips caressing her cheek, "Let’s go to the supermarket and you can pick out whatever you want. I’ll make you sothing delicious when we get back, okay?"

Ye Jiuliang curved her lips into a smile, but within a few seconds, the smile fell off her face, and she pouted, "I want to ride a motorcycle."

She also wanted to drink, to eat spicy hot pot.

Li Mochan let out a speechless chuckle, moving his fingers down to lightly scratch her jaw, as if he were petting a cat, "Should I buy you one?"

"Don’t want it." Ye Jiuliang leaned forward, resting her forehead against his shoulder, listlessly said.

Buying a motorcycle to just sit at ho wasn’t interesting, and would make her even more agitated.

The woman’s curled eyelashes fluttered, like tiny hooks scraping across his heartstrings, darkening Li Mochan’s eyes.

"Then what do you want?"

"To eat fried chicken legs." Her muffled voice answered.

Li Mochan laughed softly, "Alright, I’ll make so when we get back."

"And I want so snacks." She added.

"Okay, we’ll buy so at the supermarket."

Ye Jiuliang hooked her arms around his neck, acting spoiled, "I’m too weak, can’t walk anymore."

Li Mochan couldn’t help but grin, lifting her in his arms, his eyes warmly gazing upon her, "Will this work, hm?"

After a busy day, Ye Jiuliang felt weak and couldn’t muster any energy, "It’ll have to do."

"You," Li Mochan shook his head with a light laugh, stepping away.

...

Night fell, and a cold wind blew icily.

In the empty room, it was so dark you couldn’t see your hand in front of your face.

The figure on the ground suddenly moved, and like a carp flipping over, sprang to its feet.

Aqiao looked around defensively, her gaze suddenly drawn to a person in the corner.

She scrambled over, her knees knocking painfully against the ground.

"Madam, are you alright?" she asked with a trembling voice.

With the bleeding on her body temporarily stopped but having lost too much blood, Mo Yu’s face was ashen. Perhaps because the shock was too great, she seed sowhat dazed.

It was rare to see Mo Yu looking so despondent and dispirited; Aqiao called out again, "Madam."

Suddenly, Mo Yu flew into a frenzy, pushing Aqiao away, "Get away, get away from ."

Taken by surprise, Aqiao fell to the ground, her face filled with confusion.

"Madam?"

Mo Yu suddenly stood up, her eyes red as she looked at Aqiao, "It’s all your fault, can’t you do anything right? Mo Su is not Ye Yuan’s daughter, how am I supposed to face Ye Yuan?"

Feeling guilty about this matter, Aqiao’s eyes darted around, and she didn’t dare to speak.

Highly unstable emotionally, Mo Yu grabbed Aqiao by the hair, hitting and scolding her.

"It’s all your fault, all because of you, this useless thing, it’s all your fault."

Aqiao’s face showed pain, yet she suffered the abuse quietly, allowing herself to be beaten and scolded.

At that mont, the sound of the door unlocking was heard.

With a "click," the door opened, and bright light poured in.

Mo Yu looked stunned, the sudden brightness dazzling her eyes; she raised her hand to block the harsh light.

"Young Miss," Aqiao raised her head and upon seeing the person Gu Xinuo was dragging, her face showed horror.

This is bad, why is the Young Miss here too?

Still under the effect of the drug, Mo Su felt weak all over, even speaking felt arduous, "Let go."

Gu Xinuo sneered coldly and pushed her inside.

"You and your daughter enjoy your reunion, I won’t disturb you."

Mo Su lost her balance and sat down hard on the ground.

She turned around just in ti to see the door close.

"Bang—"

Suddenly, a figure dashed past her, heading straight for the door.

Mo Yu slapped the door, screaming hysterically, "Let out, I want to see Ye Yuan, let out, Ye Jiuliang, let out."

She didn’t want to be trapped here; she wanted to see Ye Yuan; she couldn’t believe that Ye Yuan could truly be so cruel toward her.

Taking a careful look, Mo Su recognized who the out-of-control, screaming person was, her expression turning odd.

She tentatively called out, "Mom?"

At the sound, the figure in front paused suddenly, Mo Yu slowly turned around and, upon seeing Mo Su, a flicker of lucidity passed through her eyes.

"Young Miss," Aqiao stood up, her steps dragged as she approached.

Using her hands to prop herself up from the ground, Mo Su shifted her position and sat back against the wall, asking puzzledly, "Aqiao, how co you’re here too?"

"Young Miss, it’s a long story. We were originally going to find Leng Yi today, but we fell into Ye Jiuliang’s trap," Aqiao said with a hoarse voice, casting a glance at Mo Yu.

"Moreover, the family head’s identity has been exposed; Ye Jiuliang already knows that the family head is her father, Ye Yuan."

Upon hearing this, Mo Su frowned, unavoidably recalling the words Ye Jiuliang had said to her that day.

Could it be that there’s sothing she didn’t know?

"What was my father’s reaction? Does he fully believe Ye Jiuliang?"

"The Family Head, he..." Aqiao started to speak then stopped, her gaze fleeting to Mo Yu’s bloodshot eyes and she fell silent.

Impatient with her hesitation, Mo Su had a bad premonition and said impatiently, "What about my father? Spit it out, don’t beat around the bush."

Having already been subjected to a beating, Mo Yu was emotionally unstable, and so Aqiao didn’t dare to reveal the truth outright, "I..."

Just at that mont, Mo Yu rushed over, her hands pressing on Mo Su’s shoulders, shaking her violently, "How can you not be his daughter? I hate you, I despise you! Who on earth are you the daughter of?"
