Chapter 513: Not their daughter!

“Ja-Javier...”

Jennifer sensed a different feeling flowing through her heart. It made her legs go weak and her half-opened eyes were at the bay of being shut down.

But just one pull lifted her from the ground. She felt her head was kept at the thigh of soone.

“Jennifer... Jennifer.. open your eyes.” Javier instantly tapped on her pale skin to make her regain her consciousness. He found her eyelashes moving slightly, which made him a bit relaxed to know that she hasn’t fainted yet.

“Sh... Jennifer..” While Javier’s face indicated as if a ghost had haunted him. He couldn’t believe that his dear wife was lying in this condition on the road.

Without thinking twice, Javier lifted Jennifer from the ground in his bridal style. Bringing her into his car, he opened the door of the passenger seat and helped her to sit there.

At this point, Javier knew that her body felt too light in his hands, but at the sa ti, there was no doubt that she was too weak. Her face resembled a white marble right now.

.....

Javier made sure that she was fine at the seat and instantly rushed to the forr seat to speed away from the area.

However, Jennifer was still not able to reopen her eyes. She found herself still having the urge of recovering and this put all her hopes on hold.

But how she caught her own breath with ti ultimately brought her out of the daze. Her unconscious state started to lose its impact on her body when a few things struck her mind.

“Where are we..going..”

Javier didn’t answer. He simply brought his other hand to check her temperature and was relieved to know that she wasn’t going through a fever either.

“What were you doing in the middle of the road? Aren’t you afraid that any car would have hit you?”

“B-but.. how co you ca here?” Coming into Lucas’s territory must not be an easy task for Johnson’s heir.

It was rumored that Javier’s condition was extrely bad and he was recomnded on bed rest. As far as she heard, Lucas believed that Javier would never cause any problem with his actions.

But witnessing Javier being unhard and riding his car so leisurely in the state, made Jennifer still a bit concerned. “If Smiths learn that you-”

“Do you still believe that Lucas has the power when he is charged with murder attempts?” Javier’s question left Jennifer stunned. He didn’t face her but she could see him being ruthless to her.

“I’m worried about you...”

“Don’t be. After all, you weren’t worried about when you hid about Austin and he called Lucas.” His sarcastic speech was like putting a needle in her heart.

She wanted to protest but it didn’t appear to her that she was in any position to do so. In the end, Jennifer pressed her lips into a straight line to finally admit that it was her fault.

However, Javier’s questions weren’t complete. He didn’t move his face from the road but still asked, “And answer. What were you doing alone on the road and lay there?”

Till now, Jennifer found her heart stopped beating rapidly. It returned to its normal pace and she was glad to find her energy restoring its way back.

Yet it wasn’t the only wish. As Jennifer’s eyes took a glance at Javier’s cold behavior, she felt her spine being filled with beads of sweat. ‘I can’t lie to his face...’

He was being so distant from her that it soured her mood. But Jennifer held her hate for the ti being to say, “I was running from my ho...”

A thick frown carved on Javier’s forehead. This intrudes on him as he can’t believe his wife would be so timid to run away from her house. “Any specific reason?”

“Umm..” Jennifer bit her lower lip as the dead fear consud her. She couldn’t forget her mother’s nagging on the door and their words poured into her mind.

“I found out sothing about myself...” She muttered what also evolved.

At this point, Javier’s grip on his steering wheel had tightened. Subconsciously, he could feel the lack of emotions in her speech which raised his bars of doubts.

“What have you found out?” he can’t help but ask, again with the sa intensity of rudeness.

But on the other hand, Jennifer’s not feeling his coldness towards her to be any reason to avoid him. She was the one who made such a situation appear in front of them.

If not because of her, probably they wouldn’t have separated either.

“J-Javier...I found out that I’m not my parent’s daughter..”

“WHAT DID YOU SAY!?” Suddenly, Javier stepped on the brakes with instant force. The car ca to a halt and Jennifer felt a sudden jerk in her body. The force pulled her ahead and she expected to be hit by the dashboard.

Yet, a large hand ca in from another which stopped her head to be clashed on the dashboard. For a minute, her heart accelerated badly which made her head turn around at Javier with a glare.

“Have you gone insane?! Who stops the car in such a reckless manner when I’m not even wearing a seatbelt!?” Fury rushed to her veins when Jennifer realized that he wasn’t paying attention to her at all.

It irritated her and she wished to speak more. Yet in the middle, Javier’s deep breathe caught her eyes. She noted the thick frown on his forehead, causing slight uneasiness.

He rotated his face to watch her again with the shocking news that was delivered to him, “Y-You aren’t Mr. and Mrs. Taylor’s daughter?”

Jennifer hesitantly shook her head.

“Then whose daughter are you?”
