Chapter 26 - Special?
At the sa ti, after having lunch with Javier, they all were sitting in the living room while the television switched on.
While Jennifer was bored now after watching so many web series which were available at this place, she was now craving for sothing exciting.
Looking at Javier, who was sitting beside her, her heart was craved to ask him the usual questions. But she was afraid that he might ignore her plea.
After all, if he has bought this villa on this distant island, he knows how to use his boredom and treat the lonely ti here as well right?
But her outspoken nature was in her favor. Her curiosity to ask him general questions has risen to the next level due to the lack of people to interact with here.
"Javier, can I ask you so random question if you don't mind ?" Jennifer finally pulled so courage out of nowhere and asked him too freely.
Javier, who was just looking at the television, looked at Jennifer from the corner of his eyes and nodded his head lazily when he added on, "Go ahead. What do you just to ask?"
Jennifer kept a pillow in her lap and motioned in his direction, "Nothing.. just so random stuff. See, you and I are both stuck here with each other's company. So, I thought, Why not entertain each other."
Her words sound genuine to his ears. He knew that she isn't those types of people, who are cunning. At least this is what he thinks but who knows what is hidden behind her innocent mask?
For a few minutes, Javier didn't answer her anymore. He stayed absolutely silent, which kind of made Jennifer frown. 'Is he angry? don't tell that he is not soone who will chit chat?'
If that was the case, Jennifer was confident that she will be super bored at this place. With nothing else to do in her hands, all that ca to her mind was the hurry to go back and escape this place sohow.
"Javier?" Jennifer tried her luck once again when she called out his na which seems to pull him out of the daze he was in. "Alright. Just ask what you wish to ask ."
She was happy that he finally agreed to her words. There was literally no smile on his face, which is usually there. His signature dangerous smirk was also missing which made her wonder why is he acting so distant now?
Ignoring his attitude was hard but sohow, she managed to do so, "Tell , why did you kidnap from my wedding? I an I know that it's because of Lucas, there must be so other reasons as well, right?"
"Well... I will reveal that to you soon but at the right ti. Need to get work done through Lucas and we believe that he will just cooperate with us for sure... if we have you in our hands."
His reply was boring for her because this was sothing she already knew beforehand. Jennifer had expected that he might answer sothing interesting but here was his dull reply.
Coughing, she asked back, "Alright I shall wait for that day where you will tell ." Hearing this, Javier lifted his eyes to look at her face and smirked inside his heart.
'You will totally co to know the real reason, Jennifer..' he can't believe that he was able to maintain so calmly despite her sitting so close to him.
Later on, she asked him, "Tell what your age is and where you studied? If we can't talk about your official work, then why not in your personal life?" Jennifer simply suggested it out of her mind.
If things were in her favor then why not utilize the ti accordingly. She should just for the things to be right and it was mostly fun to know about so other person. especially when you are living under one roof.
Javier seed to think about it first and replied "I grew up in different places. It is really difficult for because... I also sotis wonder how many counties I have lived in with my mother."
"So you used to travel a lot? Hmm?" Jennifer can only think like this when he ntioned, "Sothing more private. This island was also one of those places where I used to co when I wanted to be alone out of the ss that I had in my life."
"Your life… ss?" It was unclear in her mind. A pout appeared on her lips thinking about the life of a Johnson Heir.
Her mother used to tell her that they get a luxurious life and they have to go through so intense training to be used to this lifestyle. No one is intentionally born into the Mafia family but they are made to be accustod to their basic lives.
But his story seems different to hear. It looks like he never had those lives of mafia kings rather he would just sit and enjoy his normal routine.
Even his actions are more down to Earth! He can do everything that is mostly done by servants! Either it is cooking, laundry, cleaning, and whatnot?!
"So, you 're saying that you never had the chance to live a normal life?" Their random conversation was going slightly but the heaviness of her this question was very much high.
She received a shock from his head. "I lived a life… which I wanted. It wasn't accepted by many still, they can only see what I'm doing and zip their mouth. I never gave my life's control in soone else's hand until…"
"Until?" Her ears were all on his talks but he dropped a smirk on his face which made her think of the last ti she saw it.
He was beautiful, dangerous, and smart. It makes her feel shiver but his attitude towards her feels warm as well. She doesn't know if it was only exclusive for her but Jennifer can imagine how many girls must have thrown themselves on him… God, who can resist such a man?
When Jennifer was just figuring out his physique, Javier noticed her lingering gaze. He had no idea what she is imagining in her small mind but he found the right opportunity to shut her mouth and ask the most awaited question in his mind.
"So, I shall ask you. Do you have anyone special in your life?"
