Chapter 683: From another Universe

Lu Ling was now at the Black Tortoise City. The Serenity Plains had yet to be stabilized and scouts and spies from a string of families and forces abound. In order to gain complete control over the Serenity Plains, Lu Ling had to clean up the spies everywhere.
In a hall, Lu Ling was reading military reports sent back from the front. She had an entire table of reports. Usually, Lu Ling would read them over a cup of tea. Today, though, she felt unsettled. There was always a feeling keeping her from being seated.
She threw the report in her hand onto the table and sat with a frown. She called Hu Lang in and asked, “Are there any special information. How co I cannot shake away the feeling of…being disturbed?”
Hu Lang was surprised by the question. He replied, “No, nobody sent any report today. We have just received reports yesterday. It should be a couple of days before we get new ones.”
Lu Ling nodded and let Hu Lang go. She resud reading the reports. After a mont, she felt more and more troubled. Putting down the report, she shouted, “Hu Lang, go to the Deserted World and see if anything has happened there!”
“Okay!”
Hu Lang could not disobey Lu Ling. He walked out and as he was ready to enter the Teleportation Formation to the Deserted World, another Teleportation Formation in the city lit up as a man erged.
“Ming Yu!”
Hu Lang’s heart skipped a beat when he saw Ming Yu. Instead of talking to Ming Yu, Hu Lang dragged him to the hall.
Before they entered the inner room, Lu Ling had co out to the door. The mont she saw Ming Yu, her pupils contracted and her face turned pale. Yet, she said nothing and only stared at Ming Yu.
“Lady Ling, sothing happened!”
Lu Ling waved her hand after hearing those words. She closed her eyes to take a deep breath before she opened her eyes again and asked Ming Yu to go on.
Ming Yu reported with remorse, “A girl of mystery appeared in the Inferno. She is at the Human Sovereign Realm and has Quasi Relics. She is very powerful, not to ntion that she has ninth rank Bloodline. God of ng and Ye Cha were defeated in one move. Now both Young Master and that girl have disappeared. We think…Young Master is taken away by that mysterious girl!”
“What?”
Hu Lang was frightened. He asked again with disbelief, “Ninth rank Bloodline. Are you sure of that?”
Owning Quasi Relics was acceptable and a girl of the Human Sovereign Realm was understandable. It was not impossible for God of ng and Yan Zhen to lose to that girl in one move. However, Hu Lang did find it unlikely for her to have ninth rank Bloodline.
Lu Ling sighed. Guilt and remorse climbed up to her face. She took a few deep breaths but asked no questions. She began to give orders, “Hu Lang, get all the Human Sovereign Realm warriors back, now!”
“All…”
Hu Lang was having second opinions. Many Human Sovereign Realm warriors are guarding at many locations. Without them, the Serenity Plains would descend into chaos.
Lu Ling threw him a cold glance and that scared the second opinion out of Hu Lang imdiately. He dashed out, sent out the ssage and called back all the Human Sovereign Realm warriors.
Ming Yu understood Lu Ling. She could lose the Clouds Plains, Serenity Plains and all her Human Sovereign Realm warriors for all she cared but she must have Lu Li back. It was built in the character of the siblings. They would not pause for one second if they had to trade the world to protect each other.
“We need to go to the Inferno!”
Lu Ling thought about it and sprung to action. At the door, she said to the Chief Steward, “Tell Hu Lang that when all Human Sovereign Realm warriors co back, they must go to Inferno right away.”
Ming Yu couldn’t disagree with Lu Ling, either. He left with her and teleported to the Deserted World. They went at once to the Shadowland City without making any stops.
All at the Inferno had co out to the Shadowland City. Ming Yu had ordered that nobody should leave. Yan Zhen was in command.
It was a city of trepidation. Everyone was in panic. They did not know what had happened but they were convinced that sothing huge had gone down. They were all ordered out while they were cultivating and forced to stay in one city and they could tell Ming Yu, Yan Zhen, Ke Lv and the others looked awful.
The arrival of Lu Ling and Ming Yu had instilled confidence in everyone. Lu Feixue was crying bitterly. For the two ladies, Lu Feixue was much less strong than Lu Ling.
Lu Ling comforted Lu Feixue calmly and told the latter to take so rest. Afterwards, Lu Ling looked around the hall and asked Yan Zhen, “Where are God of ng and Ye Cha?”
“Still in there…”
Yan Zhen replied, “They were knocked out. When they ca back to their senses, they realized Young Master Li had gone missing. Ye Cha ca to make arrangents and then went back to look for Young Master Li with God of ng.”
Lu Ling nodded acknowledgent and asked, “How is our passageway into the Inferno now?”
Yan Zhen turned to Ke Lv, Clan Leader of the Shadowland Race, who bowed and answered, “We have built a formation at the entrance. If we don’t deactivate it, anyone who forces their way in will trigger the explosion of the formation, which will destroy the passageway. God of ng and Ye Cha have left us with jade talismans. If they need to co out, they will let us know.”
“Good, Clan Leader Ke, you have done well. Please go to the entrance and guard there. Let know at once if anything goes wrong!”
Lu Ling waved Ke Lv and Ke Mang away. She looked at everyone present and said, “Nothing about what has happened at the Inferno can be learned by the outside. Violators will be punished by death with no questions asked. Alright, off you go now. I have my plans.”
Sohow, they felt settled by Lu Ling’s calmness. They left for their own work while Yan Zhen and Ming Yu stayed put. They knew Lu Ling had questions for them.
They admired Lu Ling. Her own brother had gone missing and could die at any mont. Her heart must be torn by anxiety but she stayed so composed.
“Tell everything, what you have seen, you have heard and your thoughts!” Lu Ling asked. She had a cup of tea in her hand but didn’t have the intention to drink it.
Yan Zhen gathered his thoughts and said, “A while back, more than a dozen scouts died in the Inferno. Young Master Li sent a ssage for and God of ng to co over. We went to the Inferno to check at once. We circled around a volcano and went in for a bit…at the last mont, Young Master Li told to leave. You said I should obey him so I didn’t dare to do otherwise…”
Yan Zhen told her everything he had encounter, seen and heard, including the clothes of that girl. He inford her about what Ye Cha reported back as well.
Ye Cha and God of ng were trapped in the petals but they could hear clearly. However, they were then knocked out so they didn’t know Leng Wuxin had requested Lu Li to go with her and accomplish three missions for her.
Lu Ling closed her eyes and digested Yan Zhen’s words. Pictures ca to her mind.
After the ti for one incense stick to burn, she finally opened her eyes and said, “Two Quasi Relics? Ninth rank Bloodline? Soul attack? This Lady Leng is not from the Central Plains. That much is clear. Either she is a local resident or she is…from another universe, a universe of mighty power.”
