Chapter 120: I Will Make It Vanish From This World

"You..." Rachel Royce’s breath hitched. "What on earth do you want?"

Tristan Sterling turned and strode toward Rachel Royce.

Before Rachel could even react,

a powerful force grabbed her by the wrist.

"Tristan... ah!"

The man threw Rachel directly onto the sofa. An intimidating aura imdiately swept over her, so overpowering that every pore on her body trembled in fear.

Her eyes widened in terror as she watched the man loom over her. He seized her by the chin, forcing her to look up at him.

His face was an icy mask.

"Why am I treating you like this?" The man sneered. "Because you took it upon yourself to provoke soone you never should have."

Rachel’s nerves were taut as she stared at him warily.

"Who are you trying to get with now?" the man’s tone dripped with thick sarcasm.

Rachel’s chest heaved. She understood the implication in his words and angrily raised her hand, but he effortlessly pinned it against the back of the sofa.

"Rachel Royce, don’t think I’m a patient man."

Unable to struggle free, she glared at the man and cursed, "Tristan Sterling, you bastard."

Tristan Sterling stared down at her, his voice low and domineering. "Rachel Royce, I’m warning you. Don’t even think about touching anything that belongs to lissa. If you do, I will make sure it vanishes from this world completely."

His tone was laced with a thick, dangerous aura that made Rachel feel suffocated.

Their eyes t.

In the brief silence, the air around them seed to grow heavy.

Rachel stared at the man, and as the realization dawned on her, she suddenly laughed—a scornful laugh. "Tristan Sterling, do you really love lissa? Do you even know how to love her?"

Tristan Sterling stared at her without a word.

"You love her, so why were you being all lovey-dovey with Claire Ainsworth right in front of lissa? You want lissa to accept her, don’t you? Too bad lissa can tell who’s genuinely good to her and who’s just putting on a fake act. She doesn’t like phonies like Claire Ainsworth who are all for show."

"Even a child can sense it, but you can’t. What right do you have to say you truly love lissa? Your love is just as selfish."

Tristan Sterling’s dark eyes narrowed, and his grip on her wrist tightened.

Rachel winced in pain. "You... Let go of !"

Just then,

a soft, choked voice called out, "Daddy!"

They both froze in shock.

The door was ajar, and lissa stood there with red-rimd eyes.

Tristan looked at his daughter, a flicker of panic in his eyes.

lissa’s little mouth trembled before she burst into tears, wailing, "Daddy, Aunt Evelynn, please don’t fight!"

"lissa... doesn’t want you to fight."

"..."

Tristan Sterling released Rachel, strode to the door, and picked up his daughter. "lissa, don’t cry."

But lissa couldn’t stop crying.

"Daddy, don’t fight with Aunt Evelynn, okay? I... I don’t want you to fight, okay?"

Rachel stood frozen and helpless. Listening to her daughter’s sobs, she felt as if her own heart was about to shatter.

Tristan shot Rachel a cold glare before striding away with his daughter in his arms.

His daughter’s cries faded into the distance.

Rachel’s mind went blank, and her heart felt as if it were being crushed by a giant stone.

She sat there on the sofa, losing all track of ti,

until lissa suddenly ran back into the study.

Rachel stood up, hurried over to lissa, and knelt to pull her into a hug. lissa’s red eyes were puffy from crying.

"lissa, I’m so sorry," Rachel apologized, her voice hoarse.

lissa hugged Rachel and sniffled. "Aunt Evelynn, please don’t fight with Daddy, okay? lissa doesn’t want to see you fight."

Rachel hugged her daughter tighter, took a deep breath, and said weakly, "Okay. No more fighting."

The mother and daughter held each other just like that.

Behind the door, a tall, slender figure stood silently watching the scene in the study.

Leaning on Rachel’s shoulder, lissa gradually cald down.

Rachel picked up her daughter and walked out of the study.

The man was long gone.

Back in lissa’s bedroom,

Rachel gently wiped lissa’s little face clean.

lissa then took the towel to wipe Rachel’s face. Rachel bent down, letting lissa wipe her cheeks while murmuring, "Aunt Evelynn isn’t crying, and lissa isn’t crying either."

Rachel smiled and gently caressed her daughter’s cheek. "That’s right. Neither of us is crying."

Children are easy to coax. lissa was soon smiling happily again.

After they washed their faces,

"Aunt Evelynn," lissa said suddenly.

"What is it?"

lissa looked a little troubled. "Aunt Evelynn, can you stay ho and be with today? Can we go to your house tomorrow instead? lissa doesn’t an to go back on her word."

Faced with her daughter’s request, how could Rachel possibly refuse? "Of course. I’ll stay ho with lissa today."

The worry in lissa’s eyes instantly gave way to a bright sparkle. "Yay!"

She threw herself into Rachel’s arms again.

The mother and daughter stayed in the bedroom.

Until noon.

The door opened.

Seeing who it was, lissa cried out, "Daddy."

She was back to being her lively, adorable self.

Tristan Sterling spoke gently to his daughter, "Ti for lunch."

lissa reached out and took Rachel’s hand. "Aunt Evelynn, let’s go have lunch."

Rachel let her daughter pull her toward the door.

"Daddy!"

lissa took her father’s hand as well. Tristan Sterling smiled warmly at his daughter and squeezed her hand tightly.

Holding one of their hands in each of hers, lissa tilted her little head back and bead, her eyes filled with pure happiness.

As Tristan and Rachel held their daughter’s hands, their gazes softened unconsciously whenever they looked at her. By so unspoken understanding, however, they avoided looking at each other.

The three of them went downstairs to the dining room like that.

Seeing this, Lisa Lawson and Frances Wyatt exchanged a look of bewildered surprise. ’Why do they look so much like a family of three?’

No matter how shocked they were, they kept it to themselves and quietly went about their duties.

Seated at the dining table,

Rachel tied a bib on lissa. When lissa saw the vegetable wraps in front of her, she picked one up with her chopsticks and placed it in Rachel’s bowl. "Aunt Evelynn, eat this. Daddy made it."

’I knew Tristan doted on lissa, but I never imagined a man so noble and aloof would actually cook.’

Earlier, while coaxing lissa, Tristan had promised to make her sothing to eat.

lissa didn’t like vegetables, but she loved anything her father made.

Rachel politely declined, "You eat it, lissa. Auntie doesn’t want any."

lissa insisted, "No, no! Aunt Evelynn, just eat one. Please? Just try it?"

In the end, Rachel had no choice but to eat it.

Seeing her eat it, lissa asked happily, "Aunt Evelynn, is it good? What Daddy made?"

Rachel looked at the clever little imp and sighed in resignation. "It’s delicious."

lissa imdiately turned to her father, swinging her little legs. "Daddy, Aunt Evelynn said it’s delicious!"

Tristan looked at his daughter and placed a piece of shrimp on her plate. "Daddy heard."

"Then you should make more next ti, so Aunt Evelynn and I can eat together."

Tristan grunted in affirmation. "I know. Now hurry up and eat."

With lissa there, her cheerful voice filled the dining room, and the atmosphere during lunch was harmonious.

The few, outwardly peaceful exchanges between Rachel and the man happened only for lissa’s sake.
