Chapter 913: Chapter 913 Nearly Blew It Chapter 913: Chapter 913 Nearly Blew It Su Yunjin went to the backyard.
With Wang ng there, Su Ningxiu felt sowhat embarrassed by his gaze and followed Su Yunjin to hide in the backyard. Usually, when Su Yunjin invited Wang ng for a al, he would politely refuse, but today, with her Second Sister, Su Ningxiu, present, when Su Yunjin invited Wang ng to stay for a al, he readily accepted.
After the al, Su Ningxiu said she needed to leave, and Wang ng also ntioned he had matters to attend to. Consequently, Su Ningxiu and Wang ng left one after the other. Su Yunjin saw off Wang ng.
She turned back, smiling at Gu Ya, “Husband, why did Big Brother Wang leave in such a hurry? Do you think he could be chasing after Second Sister?” Gu Ya raised an eyebrow at his little wife.
“Yunjin, you!” Gu Ya’s tone was tinged with helplessness but also indulgence.
Su Yunjin chuckled and took out the seeds the man from the Foreign Tribe had given her to show Gu Ya, “Husband, what do you think this is?”
Gu Ya lowered his head to look at what was in his little wife’s hands.
It appeared to be seeds in her hands, but Gu Ya could not identify what kind of seeds they were. He had never seen such things before.
It was understandable that Gu Ya didn’t recognize them. Su Yunjin explained with a smile, “Husband, these are seeds given to by a person from a Foreign Tribe today.”
“A person from a Foreign Tribe?” It was rare for people from Foreign Tribes to appear in town. This place was a small town and quite remote; it was actually Yangcheng that saw more people from Foreign Tribes.
Gu Ya had been to Yangcheng a few tis, and on one occasion, he had seen people from a Foreign Tribe. Those blue-eyed, blonde-haired foreigners were a sight. Su Yunjin put away the seeds, “Husband, I will find ti to go back and plant these seeds.” Tomatoes are a sumr crop, and the season was just right for planting them.
Su Yunjin was thinking about how she soon would have tomatoes and tomato sauce, relishing the thought, while Gu Ya frowned in her ear.
“Yunjin, what’s so good about seeds from a Foreign Tribe? What if they don’t taste good when grown? You might as well leave them be.” Like Su Ningxiu, Gu Ya was also disinterested in things from Foreign Tribes.
These were tomatoes, which Su Yunjin had eaten many tis in the modern world, especially tomato sauce, which was her favorite. The taste was bound to be delicious. If they weren’t, that would be strange indeed. Su Yunjin was confident, “Husband, don’t worry! The tomatoes will taste fine once grown.”
“Tomatoes?” Gu Ya raised an eyebrow looking at his little wife. Su Yunjin knew she misspoke and quickly flashed a hint of guilt. How had she let the na ‘tomato’ slip?
Gu Ya stared at his little wife, “Yunjin, how do you know these are tomato seeds?” Tomatoes? What was that? Gu Ya pondered.
Su Yunjin casually brushed off Gu Ya, “Husband, tomatoes, you see! Tomatoes are sothing I don’t really know about. It was the na given by that person from the Foreign Tribe; she said these seeds were for growing tomatoes.”
Su Yunjin managed to get by with that excuse, and Gu Ya did not suspect anything. She silently breathed a sigh of relief, thankful she had managed to deceive Gu Ya.
That was close.
She had almost let Gu Ya discover sothing was amiss.
During the land division, the Su family had received several acres in the Gu Family village, two of which were quality farmland, on which most of the crops had been planted.
There was also half a plot left unplanted. Originally, Su Yunjin had kept that space empty to see if there was a need, saving it in case sothing ca up.
Now that she had this bag of tomato seeds, she could plant the entire plot with tomatoes.
