Capítulo 1915: Chapter 1915: First Awakening of Love
After resting for a few days, Su Yunjin finally regained her energy.
That day, Su Yunjin spent the whole day entertaining guests who ca to congratulate them, and she was so exhausted that her back hurt, she didn’t even want to move a finger.
Later, she had Gu Ya massage her shoulders. At first, Gu Ya was quite diligent, but eventually Gu Ya…
Just thinking about what happened that night made Su Yunjin’s face flush.
Su Yunjin patted her face with her hand, trying not to think about those embarrassing monts.
Gu Ya went to Zuixiang Restaurant early this morning. Su Yunjin planned to go to the storeroom to check the gifts they received on their moving day.
Aunt Bao had asked Su Yunjin to inventory the gifts at that ti, but Su Yunjin was so tired she couldn’t do it.
Gu Ya was even busier.
So the gifts collected that day had been sitting in the warehouse without anyone checking them.
Today, Su Yunjin finally had so free ti, and both children were sleeping. She could take this opportunity to inspect the gifts and see if anything was missing or stolen.
Wealthy families in town always inspect gifts afterward to prevent theft by servants.
Su Yunjin planned to tally the gifts and categorize them.
Valuable ones would be placed separately, and the cheaper ones would be set off to the side.
There were many gifts received. Su Yunjin couldn’t do the inventory alone. She needed to take two maids to assist her and also have the butler who managed the storeroom join in.
Although the butler managed the storeroom, the key was in Su Yunjin’s hands. The butler was only responsible for overseeing the items stored and accompanying the servants to put things away.
Upon entering the storeroom, Su Yunjin reviewed the gift list and discovered that the items delivered by those who ca to their manor to give gifts were not cheap at all. Quite a few were precious pieces of jade.
Bird’s nest, ginseng… and other premium supplents were also among the gifts.
Su Yunjin roughly looked over the gifts in the storeroom, realizing they had received more than she expected.
As the saying goes, reciprocity is key. Since Su Yunjin accepted others’ gifts that day, she surely would need to return gifts whenever others have events.
Su Yunjin instructed the manager to keep the gift list safe, so that when returning gifts to others, they could refer to it to return sothing roughly equivalent.
Su Yunjin was busy in the storeroom all morning, finally completing the gift inventory.
Stretching lazily, Su Yunjin realized that inspecting gifts wasn’t as easy as it seed.
She left the remaining inventory tasks to the butler and planned to go outside for so fresh air with Aunt Bao.
Not far away, Xue Chu was pacing back and forth for quite a while.
Yet he didn’t approach.
Su Yunjin found it strange and turned back to instruct Aunt Bao, “Auntie, could you ask Brother Xue if he needs to speak with ?”
Aunt Bao nodded and walked over to Xue Chu.
Soon enough, Xue Chu followed behind Aunt Bao.
“Madam,” Xue Chu spoke respectfully.
Su Yunjin was stretching, “Brother Xue, you’ve been watching for quite a while. Is there sothing you need to discuss with ?”
Xue Chu appeared slightly uneasy and a bit embarrassed.
Su Yunjin found Xue Chu’s series of actions rather peculiar.
Finally, Xue Chu looked at Su Yunjin and asked, “Madam, I was wondering if you still have any of the ointnt you gave us last ti?”
“Brother Xue, why do you need that?”
Su Yunjin was sowhat surprised.
With a tense face, Xue Chu explained stiffly under Su Yunjin’s gaze, “Madam, when I escorted Linglong back last ti, I discovered she was injured!”
