Chapter 1601: Chapter 1601: Bearing Grudges

Aunt Bao waited nervously for Gu Ya’s decision.

“Young Master, this matter is my fault. If you need to punish , please do so. I won’t have any complaints,” said Aunt Bao.

Over the past two months, Aunt Bao had taken good care of the young mistress. This incident was also a result of her good intentions. The King of Chu coming here was purely an accident, and besides, the King of Chu’s feelings toward the young mistress didn’t stem from this incident alone.

Gu Ya naturally wasn’t going to punish Aunt Bao.

“Aunt, let this matter end here. I don’t want to hear you bring it up again!” Gu Ya’s words left Aunt Bao completely stunned.

Aunt Bao stared at Gu Ya in disbelief.

She couldn’t believe Gu Ya had forgiven her so easily.

Seeing the surprise in Aunt Bao’s expression, Gu Ya added, “This must not happen again! From now on, whether it’s the King of Chu or anyone associated with him, they are not allowed to approach my wife! Otherwise, I will show no rcy, including for this ti!” His voice was cold and commanding.

Aunt Bao nodded repeatedly.

“Young Master, don’t worry. I will keep your instructions in mind. I won’t let anyone related to the King of Chu approach the mistress again.”

Gu Ya chose not to hold Aunt Bao accountable this ti. This filled her heart with gratitude, and silently, Aunt Bao resolved to take even better care of the mistress and the two young masters.

“You may go,” Gu Ya said, gesturing for Aunt Bao to leave.

Having finally spoken the words that had been weighing on her heart, Aunt Bao heaved a sigh of relief.

Just as she was about to leave, Gu Ya called out, “Wait!”

Aunt Bao turned back to look at him. “Young Master, do you have more instructions?”

“Does the mistress know that the King of Chu ca here?” Gu Ya asked her.

That day, Su Yunjin had been unconscious the entire ti, so she didn’t know that the King of Chu had visited.

Aunt Bao answered honestly, “She doesn’t know.”

Gu Ya let out a small sound of acknowledgnt. “Since she doesn’t know, don’t let her find out about it.”

Aunt Bao nodded again. “Understood, Young Master. I will keep it to myself.”

“Go about your work.” This ti, Gu Ya didn’t call her back.

After Aunt Bao left, Gu Ya raised his gaze toward the house where his young wife was staying.

Inside, a lamp was lit.

A warm, soft glow filled the room.

Images of his young wife playing with the children popped into his mind, and Gu Ya’s eyes unconsciously softened.

The children and his wife were the two most important people in his life.

Even if the person was the King of Chu,

he would never allow anyone to take his wife away from him.

His woman was his to protect and his alone.

Gu Ya walked to the doorway and, as usual, pushed the door—but then he realized it was locked.

He paused in surprise.

Inside, he could hear the babbling of two children and his wife’s laughter.

Gu Ya’s handso face darkened slightly.

“Yunjin, open the door!” Gu Ya knocked, his voice a bit stiff.

Su Yunjin deliberately teased him and refused to open it. “Husband, tonight I’ll sleep with the children. You can go find yourself another room to sleep in.” After all, the house wasn’t short of spare rooms—there were even two empty ones for him to choose from.

Gu Ya’s face darkened a bit more.

“Yunjin, be good. Don’t be mischievous!” he said. What a joke—he had a wife, and of course, he was going to sleep with her. There was no reason for him to stay in so side room while having a wife!

Su Yunjin huffed. “Husband, weren’t you complaining this afternoon about nibbling your fingers? You can sleep by yourself, and I definitely won’t be able to nibble you!”

She was still sulking about how he had teased her in front of her second sister earlier. Now she was determined to teach Gu Ya a lesson.

Let’s see if he dared to ss around in front of her second sister again.

Gu Ya chuckled.

So his little wife was holding a grudge!

The incident from earlier in the day had long escaped his mory,

but evidently, it was deeply etched in hers.
