"There’s no need to keep looking, Yunjin, I’m back."

Gu Ya, who had just returned from outside, happened to overhear Su Yunjin’s words. Aunt Bao saw Gu Ya and imdiately smiled with joy, "Young Master, you’re finally back! You don’t know how many tis Madam sent to check on you."

Su Yunjin was equally delighted upon seeing Gu Ya.

Gu Ya’s gaze fell on his little wife, and Aunt Bao, sensing the couple had sothing to discuss, tactfully left the room.

"Husband, why are you so late in coming back?" Su Yunjin ran a few steps and threw herself into Gu Ya’s arms, hugging him tightly. When he did not return promptly, Su Yunjin had been worried sothing might have happened to him.

Gu Ya lowered his head to look at his little wife in his arms and chuckled, "Good girl, didn’t I co back now?" Gu Ya did not realize Su Yunjin was anxious because she feared sothing had gone wrong. He simply thought she was playfully complaining.

Su Yunjin pulled her head out from Gu Ya’s embrace.

Her voice was tinged with grievance.

"Husband, I thought you had run into so trouble." Gu Ya said he’d be back before dark, but with his delayed return, Su Yunjin couldn’t help letting her thoughts wander.

Gu Ya was taken aback by her words at first, then his expression softened with warmth. "Yunjin, I’m sorry for making you worry."

His large hand gently patted his little wife’s back, and Su Yunjin asked again, "Husband, did sothing happen? Why were you so late in returning?"

"Nothing happened, Yunjin. Don’t let your imagination run wild." Gu Ya hesitated montarily before responding to his little wife. Su Yunjin didn’t believe him, "Husband, you’re lying."

If there really was nothing wrong, Gu Ya wouldn’t have hesitated earlier. Sothing must have happened. Su Yunjin stared at Gu Ya, demanding an answer, "Husband, tell quickly—what exactly happened?" Leng Jingxian, that madwoman, might be a fool, but she was, after all, the Pri Minister’s daughter and had clever, resourceful servants.

Gu Ya went to see Leng Jingxian this afternoon, and it was highly likely he had encountered trouble. His little wife’s eyes darted about, causing Gu Ya to imdiately sense she was misunderstanding the situation.

"Yunjin, stop overthinking. Nothing happened. I only returned late because I had to make so sudden arrangents, which delayed ." This afternoon, Gu Ya had gone to Leng Residence. Coincidentally, he discovered people from King Chu were also present. To avoid alerting them, Gu Ya chose not to enter and instead devised a plan to investigate the situation further.

At Leng Residence, Gu Ya learned that Leng Jingxian had already been detained by King Chu’s n, who planned to send her back to Jincheng tomorrow.

Not only did Leng Jingxian abduct his little wife today, but she even harbored murderous intentions toward her. Naturally, Gu Ya would not let Leng Jingxian off lightly. Though he knew Leng Jingxian would be sent away tomorrow and could no longer pose any harm to his wife, Gu Ya still intended to deal with her.

As Leng Jingxian was set to be sent away tomorrow, Gu Ya planned to ambush her on the way. To ensure the plan would be flawless, he had taken so additional ti to prepare.

However, Gu Ya did not intend to share this matter with his little wife. Su Yunjin stared at him with a hint of skepticism, "Husband, is this related to ?"

"Yunjin, weren’t we planning to visit the lantern festival? If you want to go, we should head out now. Otherwise, if we delay further, the festival will end."

It was already late.

If they hurried to town now, they could still catch the tail end of the lantern festival.
