Chu Wang’s gaze was bloodshot, his face filled with mockery.

Although Chu Wang had long known that Su Yunjin held no feelings for him, he still couldn’t control his anger upon hearing her words.

It was the first ti Su Yunjin had seen Chu Wang lose his temper in front of her. Chu Wang had always presented himself as gentle and courteous in her presence. Despite knowing him for so long, Su Yunjin had never seen him in such a fury.

Chu Wang softened his tone.

He spoke again.

"Miss Su, I apologize if I scared you." Even though Chu Wang was still seething inside, he forced himself to restrain his emotions. The woman before him was the one he desired—he couldn’t afford to frighten her.

Su Yunjin regained her composure. If she had previously guessed Chu Wang’s feelings for her, seeing his wrath now only confird her suspicions.

Alard and bewildered, Su Yunjin couldn’t fathom what Chu Wang saw in her. She was rely a married woman who had even borne a child. Chu Wang held such an exalted status—how could he possibly choose her? Su Yunjin was completely baffled.

Nevertheless, regardless of Chu Wang’s reasons for fancying her, Su Yunjin knew she had to put an end to his delusions. She had never harbored feelings for Chu Wang nor entertained the idea of marrying him.

She needed to make things clear to Chu Wang as soon as possible to avoid further trouble in the future. "Young Master Chu, we are but strangers brought together by chance. We have no bond, so what need is there to sever ties? You have helped on several occasions in the past, and for that, I am truly grateful. However, words carry great weight, and as a married woman, I must consider my husband and child. I hope you can understand."

Young Master Chu stared at Su Yunjin. How could he not hear the underlying ssage in every word she uttered? She was trying to distance herself from him—completely. But so what?

The woman he wanted could only belong to him.

Young Master Chu said nothing, his gaze fixed intently on her. Su Yunjin couldn’t discern whether he had truly taken her words to heart, but she had already said her piece. Chu Wang was a clever man; surely, he understood her aning.

She had stated things so plainly—Su Yunjin believed that, after today, Chu Wang would not harbor any improper thoughts about her again.

Young Master Chu departed, and Su Yunjin felt a weight lifted from her chest.

Su Ningxiu, who had been held back by Chu Wang’s subordinates, finally managed to escape.

"Little sister, little sister." Su Ningxiu spotted Su Yunjin and ran toward her in a hurry. Seeing her sister rush over, Su Yunjin quickly asked, "Second sister, what’s the matter?"

Su Ningxiu looked Su Yunjin over from head to toe. "Little sister, are you all right? Did that man surnad Chu give you any trouble? You have no idea how fierce his two subordinates were just now. I was held back by those two and couldn’t get out." ntioning the two n who had blocked her, Su Ningxiu was still livid.

Su Yunjin chuckled, "Second sister, don’t worry. I’m fine, and that Young Master Chu didn’t trouble ."

Su Ningxiu observed Su Yunjin closely, reassured that she didn’t seem upset or distressed.

"Little sister, as long as you’re safe. But tell —what did you talk about with that Young Master Chu outside? What couldn’t be said here at the restaurant? Why go outside to talk?"

As they spoke, Su Yunjin and Su Ningxiu returned to Zuixiang Restaurant together. Su Ningxiu’s question had been overheard by the other patrons of Zuixiang Restaurant, who all turned their gazes toward Su Yunjin.

Everyone was waiting for Su Yunjin’s response.
