Before coming to the inn, he’d planned it out—if they were caught, they would claim Third had sent them to cause trouble for Lin Caisang. They didn’t even know where Third currently resided.
"Mistress, please ask them to stop. We honestly don’t know anything. Soone just sent us to trouble you because they said you were flaunting yourself too much in Sky City and would certainly beco a threat to them."
Second chid in, following the lead of the commander and addressing Lin Caisang.

Lin Caisang let out a mocking laugh.
These three—they must think she’s a gullible child.
"You’re accomplices to that murderer captured earlier, aren’t you?" she asked.
At her words, the leader and Second both lowered their heads, avoiding her gaze, but Four reacted differently—his impulsive nature betrayed him.
"How do you know that?"
Eyes wide with disbelief, Four stared at Lin Caisang.
"Shut up!"
The leader slapped Four’s forehead with his palm.
"What, are you trying to stir up even more trouble?"
Old Five had already been caught. If they admitted to being associated with Old Five now, wouldn’t they also end up captured?
And being dragged to the Commander’s Manor wouldn’t be the worst of it—what mattered was their disguise as guards. If the commanders saw them in said uniforms, wouldn’t they assu they were tarnishing the reputation of the real guards?
If that happened, the people from the Commander’s Manor would treat them even more ruthlessly!
"I..." Four snapped out of his daze after the leader’s slap.
Realizing he’d inadvertently admitted it, he almost wanted to bite down on his tongue out of regret.
"I didn’t say anything; I didn’t say anything!" He hastily shook his head, denying what he had just blurted out.
