In another courtyard, Ding Rong heard that Lin Nian had already left, and she nearly collapsed.

She cursed while sweeping everything from the table to the floor.

What a joke, they had heard that Commander Lin left on a flying demon, and a very powerful one at that — how could they possibly catch up to him?
“What is going on here?”
Suddenly, a calm voice spoke from outside.
Hearing the voice, Ding Rong quickly recovered her senses and rushed towards the newcor.
“Nanny Jin, please speak to my aunt, and ask her to send soone to bring Lin Nian back. He can’t leave; how could he abandon
to chase after another wretched woman?”
Nanny Jin, initially looking gently at Ding Rong, suddenly grew cold.
“Miss, you are the legitimate daughter of the Ding Family; how can you speak such unbecoming words?”
“I…”
“Lin Nian is the Commander of the Sky City Guard; even if he weren’t, a man of his age isn’t suitable for a young lady of your tender age to be fond of. Miss, why can’t you understand?”
Nanny Jin didn’t give her a chance to respond, continuing her reproach.
She glanced sideways at the scattered items and the burnt hole on the carpet, her disdain evident on her face.
