Chapter 1312: 600 anyway_1 Chapter 1312: 600 anyway_1 Granny Drake had a dream.

She dread that Wendy was blaming her.

How could she, as a grandmother, ignore her own son?

Awakening, her old tears soaked the pillow.

Granny Drake stared at the canopy of her bed, lost in thought.

After a long while, she sighed.

“It’s mother who made the mistake.”

Nicholas Drake sat under the eaves.

...

Every passing servant would sneak a quick look at him with curiosity, scolded by the housekeeper, they would then quickly avoid him.

The housekeeper watched from a distance, his feelings mixed.

The young master looked so much like his uncle did when he was young, it was no wonder that when he first saw him at the front door, he thought his uncle had returned.

Unfortunately, due to his mother, he had even managed to displease Granny Drake.

Back then, his uncle was a well-known talent from Coral Island, countless ladies admired him and aspired to marry him.

Granny Drake had approved of a young lady from a reputable family, an absolutely faultless match for her son in all aspects, they were truly a match made in heaven.

However, after he went to Lostswa for college, he ca ho one sumr vacation with a woman, insisting on marrying her.

Granny Drake vehently disagreed, and her obedient son was uncharacteristically adamant on marrying this woman, even at the cost of severing ties with his mother.

Granny Drake ultimately compromised because of her son.

At that ti, the reputable lady’s reputation was scandalized.

Photos of her misdeeds were circulated, and all the public opinion attacked her at once.

Unable to bear the blow, the lady fell into insanity and was sent to a ntal hospital by her family.

Granny Drake, with her keen eye, began an in-depth investigation and found that this woman was behind the scandal.

However, the woman was smart and left no evidence.

This manipulative woman, Granny Drake, even at the risk of alienating her son, decided to prevent their marriage.

But in the end, her son left.

Granny Drake sat at the door every day, waiting for his return, but instead received his death notice…

All these years have passed, and Granny Drake still cannot accept the outco.

She stubbornly blad the woman for her son’s death, even disavowing her own grandson.

Nicholas Drake too is a pitiful character.

“Young master, the rain is getting heavier, you should not sit under the eave, you could get sick.”

“Grandpa Housekeeper, I’m fine.

How has my grandmother been recently?”

There was genuine concern in the young man’s eyes.

The housekeeper sighed, “It’s just so old problems.

As for Granny Drake…please, don’t bla her.

So things are not so easy to accept.”

“I understand.”

At that mont, the door to the room behind them opened, and Granny Drake walked out wrapped in her outer coat.

Nicholas Drake imdiately stood up.

His lips twitched as he called out with emotional restraint, “Grandmother.”

Granny Drake’s gaze landed on his face, and she beckoned him, “Co over here.”

Nicholas Drake walked up to Granny Drake, looking sowhat restrained.

The next mont, Granny Drake gently embraced him, her palm lightly patting his back.

“Edward, I wronged you before.

The Drake’s house will always be your ho.

You are now…

ho.”

Nicholas Drake choked back a sob, “Grandmother.”

“Good boy.” Granny Drake released him, gazing at his face, her eyes filled with a lancholy familiar to Nicholas, but now there was more tenderness and love.

“You look so much like your father.

If he saw how well you’ve grown, he would be very pleased.”

Granny Drake held his hand, “You must be tired and hungry after all this traveling.

Benny, let’s serve dinner.”

“Alright, alright.” The housekeeper retreated excitedly.

It was great to see Granny Drake finally letting go.

Granny Drake led Nicholas Drake to the dining table, inquiring about his studies and life over the years.

Both of them tactfully avoided the topic of Virginia Frost.

Besides that, Nicholas shared everything without leaving anything out.

It was as if there was no estrangent or distance between them for the past decade or so, maybe this was the kinship from sharing the sa bloodline.
