In the corridor, she crossed paths with Kai, who had been turning away but paused at the sight of her. His brow furrowed, a mix of curiosity and concern etched across his features. He watched as Helga exited, noting the way Es had so easily dismissed her, almost as if she were a re footnote in a grander sche.

"What just happened in there?" Kai asked, his voice low and probing. He leaned against the doorfra, arms crossed, clearly intrigued by the shift in Helga’s deanor as she was going away without even notucing him.

Jay, who had been standing quietly in the corner, watched Es with a growing sense of caution. His initial shock at her calm deanor quickly turned to alarm when he noticed the blood dripping steadily from her hand. The towel she was using was soaked through with red, a sight that made his stomach twist.

"What the—? What are you doing?" he exclaid, his voice a mix of disbelief and concern. Without waiting for an answer, he darted forward, pulling out his handkerchief and pressing it tightly against her bleeding hand. "Sit down, now," he ordered, his tone firm but laced with worry. "Are you crazy?"

Es allowed herself to be guided to the edge of the table, her eyes never leaving Jay’s face, though her own remained unnervingly calm. She didn’t even flinch at the stinging pain.

Jay, anwhile, was frantic. His gaze darted around the room, landing on the side drawer. He rushed to it, fumbling as he yanked it open and grabbed the first aid kit. Hands shaking, he pulled out a bottle of disinfectant and poured the liquid onto a cotton ball. He returned to Es, gently but firmly wiping her hand, the sharp sll of cologne filling the air. Blood sared the white cotton, but Es remained still, not even a flicker of discomfort crossing her face.

Jay’s focus was entirely on cleaning the wound, his brow furrowed in concentration. "What were you thinking?" he muttered under his breath, half to himself. "You can’t just ignore this."

Es was quite calm, even as the sting of antiseptic bit into her hand. She didn’t flinch; instead, her focus was entirely on Jay as he gently wiped her palm, the cool cloth a stark contrast to the sharpness of the antiseptic.

In that mont, a wave of emotions washed over her, swirling together in a confusion of nostalgia and recognition.

Es watched Jay kneel in front of her, his golden hair glinting in the soft light as he gently cleaned her wounds.

She could feel the warmth radiating from his hands, and for a mont, the pain receded into the background. As her gaze lingered on his hair, a sudden wave of nostalgia washed over her, and she felt the stirrings of a long-buried mory.

She closed her eyes, allowing the mories to flood her mind. Jay had golden hair that reminded her of sunshine, just like Cain, her Ex-Lover, who was always ready to lift her spirits with his infectious laughter.

Then there was Ray, whose slightly blue eyes seed to pierce through her very soul, full of depth and intensity. And finally, Kai—the embodint of confidence. His words flowed like a river, drawing her in and compelling her to listen, even when she had doubts about their shared path.

At that mont, realization struck her like a lightning bolt. Oh, so that was the reason. The pieces of the puzzle fell into place with startling clarity.

She understood now why she had signed the contract with these brothers, despite their status as rivals in her mind. It wasn’t just a matter of strategy or necessity; it was sothing deeper, sothing rooted in her very essence.

She rembered the unease that had settled in her heart when she had made the decision.

How could she ally with those who once sought to undermine her? But there was no hesitation when she signed the contract, no second thoughts.

The truth erged, and it was undeniable: they reminded her of her father.

Though she couldn’t recall her father’s face, the shadows of his mory lingered in her subconscious.

His laughter, the way he encouraged her to be brave, and how he’d wrap her in a warm embrace—these sensations ca rushing back.

Jay’s golden hair, reminiscent of the warmth that once surrounded her; Cain’s cheerful shouts echoing through her mind like a cherished song.

Even if his eyes weren’t blue, there was sothing in the way he smiled, a hint of joy that stirred a familiar ache in her heart.

She rembered how her father used to look at her, filled with love and pride, and how that had shaped her perception of the world.

Each brother held a fragnt of that lost connection. In their presence, she felt an unexplainable pull, a magnetic force that drew her to them despite the initial wariness.

It was as if the universe conspired to reconnect her with her past through these three n.

Jay’s gentle touch as he bandaged her wounds beca more than just a physical act; it transford into a healing balm for her spirit.

With every stroke of his fingers, she felt the ghosts of her childhood rise to the surface, intertwining with the present.

In that mont of clarity, Es realized that it was not just about business or rivalry.

It was a chance for her to reclaim a piece of her past—a way to honor her father’s mory through the bonds she was forging with these brothers.

Each of them represented a different aspect of her father, a reminder of the love she had lost and the courage she still possessed.

As she opened her eyes, she looked at Jay with newfound understanding.

"You know," she said softly, "I think I’ve been searching for sothing I didn’t know I lost." Jay t her gaze, and in that mont, she felt a connection that transcended words.

Jay heard Es’s words and paused, his gaze shifting to her, curiosity evident in his eyes. "What do you an?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper. The air around them felt charged, thick with unspoken tension.
