Ch 110 Part 4 – Teamwork (IV)

November 3, 2022November 3, 2022By koffeam

Did he feel regret? There must be.

Upset? There was also that.

But more than anything, Xue Chengxuan was aware of the small sense of relief that ca from the bottom of his heart — despite his best effort to suppress it.

Xue Chengxuan watched how ng Qi rejected Lin Yan’s offer, and then listened as countless gasps ca from the crowd around him.

Strangely enough, he did not find ng Qi’s choice shocking.

Ever since they first t, ng Qi had always had her own ideas and never strayed away from them.

With such perseverance, she could naturally carve out the Dao that belonged only to her.

It was with that persistence of hers that ng Qi was able to reach the end of the barrier, finally even gaining the approval of Lin Yan’s remnant will.

Xue Chengxuan stared at ng Qi. The blue-robed young girl in front of him had an exquisite face and looked the sa as the first ti he saw her.

“ng Qiqi…” Xue Chengxuan’s lips curled up slightly. His voice was gentle, calling her just like her friends did.

“Yes?” ng Qi had already reached out to Su Junmo and pressed her fingers on his wrist. Hearing her na being called, she turned her head and looked at Xue Chengxuan.

“Nothing.” Xue Chengxuan raised his eyes and stared into the endless starry sky of the Starfallen Sea.

He suddenly felt no hurry to return.

The tips of ng Qi’s fingers had just begun to shine when a chill suddenly appeared in her spiritual sea. The chill quickly spread to her body, invading her limbs and bones in just a mont.

“Ugh—” ng Qi groaned. Her feet staggered, and she almost lost her balance.

“Be careful!” Sikong Xing hurriedly took a step forward and reached out to support ng Qi, “ng Qiqi, what’s wrong?” Her face was full of worry: “Did you use too much aura just now?”

“You should rest for a while.” Su Junmo’s teeth began to chatter again, “No hurry.”

ng Qi nodded. She quickly sat cross-legged and began to probe into her spiritual sea. The chill ca so suddenly and overwhelmingly, but despite that, she actually didn’t feel any danger.

Once ng Qi was inside her spiritual sea, she quickly found the abnormality. A thin layer of ice, similar to the frost she found on Su Junmo’s hair, floated on the originally formless and colorless sea of aura. Spiritual aura was still flowing slowly beneath, shaking the ice gently as it made pleasant, bell-like sounds.

ng Qi probed around. Above the sea, her inner core was turning slowly as usual. However, the strands of spiritual aura it produced didn’t fall into the sea, but instead were absorbed by the five spirits cauldron, which in turn spit out pieces of pure white snowflakes.

What’s going on?!

ng Qi was stunned.

No wonder she suddenly felt so cold just now. Her aura was turning into snowflakes, freezing even the surface of her spiritual sea. How could she not feel cold?!

The five spirits cauldron floated mid-air, swaying from ti to ti as it dumped a loadful of snowflakes into the spiritual sea.

What—

ng Qi almost cried in shock. Could it be that the snow fang bees just now were not burnt into ash but were actually absorbed by her five spirits cauldron?!

Otherwise, how to explain the snowflakes and thin ice in her spiritual sea?!

ng Qi dispatched a strand of spiritual consciousness to probe every inch of her spiritual sea, but found no other abnormality. As ng Qi opened her eyes again, her mind was turning fast. Her fingers flickered slightly, confirming that she could still use her aura as usual.

“How are you feeling?” Sikong Xing asked worriedly, “Did you get hurt just now?”

ng Qi shook her head and gave Sikong Xing a reassuring smile: “I’m fine.”

“Let’s take a rest here and recuperate for an hour.” Qin Xiumo gave ng Qi a deep look, “We will take the sa route for our return journey.”

They entered the Starfallen Sea for ng Qi. Now that they had found her, their next priority was to return safely. The Starfallen Sea was indeed an excellent place to cultivate and gain experience, but it was still far too dangerous for their current level. What’s more, Su Junmo was poisoned, and ng Qi seed to have overdrawn her aura. They’d better go out as soon as possible.

With a wave of Qin Xiumo’s hand, his natal sword leaped into the air. Xu Zijun, who had gotten used to working in tandem with him these past few days, imdiately followed suit and flew his sword in the opposite direction.

ng Qi nodded towards Xu Zijun: “Thank you, Fellow Daoist.”

She took a deep breath and checked on herself again, but found no other abnormality. On the contrary, she found that her aura was now more condensed after being refined into snowflakes by the five spirits cauldron.

In short, this situation was actually a good thing for her… right?

In less than half an incense stick of ti, ng Qi felt rejuvenated again. She sent another strand of spiritual consciousness into her spiritual sea again, and was surprised to find that her aura capacity had expanded 20% from before.

Not only that, but her cultivation base had also silently risen to the fourth realm of the Golden Core stage.

Uh……

“What’s happened?” Seeing the flash of surprise on ng Qi’s face, Qin Xiumo, who never let his gaze off her, imdiately asked.

“The fourth realms of the Golden Core stage…” ng Qi muttered in shock. Was she wrong to believe that all the benefits of killing those snow fang bees were taken up by her?

“I see.” Qin Xiumo nodded.

ng Qi stared back into Qin Xiumo’s probing gaze and suddenly rembered the question he had asked her just a mont ago.

—Who is the Little Devil Lord?

ng Qi’s mind was full of more pressing matters until a mont before, but doubts began to overco her now that the situation had cald down.

Qin Xiumo turned his eyes and looked into the distance: “A storm seems to be brewing there.”

ng Qi paused, knowing that this was not a good ti to question Qin Xiumo. She followed his gaze, and sure enough, there was a huge black cloud in the sky, enough to even obscure the brilliant starlights.

ng Qi took a deep breath, stood up, and walked to Su Junmo. She took out a small porcelain bottle from her storage space and announced: “I’ll try to detoxify Su Junmo first.”
