Chapter 130: Chapter 130

"Benjamin, when I speak to you at least have the decency to listen. I was almost close to liking your behaviour tonight but I know there’s got to be sothing you’re trying to hide from . I will call your sister tonight so she can help you. I’ve had enough of the two of you bothering ," said Vance.

Vance preferred it when they bothered each other rather than him. Although they bickered with each other like strangers, they were still able to get the job done.

Adeline had more than enough ti to relax and clear her mind.

"I don’t know what to say to convince you that I didn’t do anything wrong tonight. No wonder Adeline ran away from ho. I was stupid to stay back," Benjamin said, laughing at himself. "Neither of us was ever going to make you proud and we both knew it. Still, we were so dumb to try to get your attention."

"What’s wrong with that? The two of you should do sothing to impress . I’ve raised you to be better than everyone around you but the two of you keep failing

even at this age. You should have been better than your sister after everything I did for you. You’ve yet to impress ," said Vance.

It was disappointing for Vance that he had to wait so long for him to see sothing worth applauding them over.

"Ha," Benjamin laughed. "I knew you would be like this and it still hurts . I am not going to regret anything that happens to you. One day when you are much older and frail, I won’t look at you and feel anything."

Vance didn’t care what his children would feel when he was ill. He was accomplishing everything he wanted to care about who was by his side. His children were going to be there because they would want to see what was left for them but Vance hadn’t inford anyone that he wouldn’t be passing his money to them.

What did his children do to deserve to inherit his money?

"You’re a piece of work, father. If sothing happens to

then I would want my family by my side. I don’t know if I can send Julia to see you tomorrow. She’s always been too nervous like

and the aftermath of when she talks to you always upsets -"

"If she doesn’t show up at my door tomorrow morning then it will be you who has to pay. It will double if I find out you did sothing stupid," Vance warned Benjamin.

Vance had enough with his family treating him like he wasn’t the head of it. He raised his children better than this but it was his fault for going so easy on them as the years went on and not raising his hand at them a little bit more.

When they feared him when they were younger, he liked them most since they knew never to speak to him as he did now.

Benjamin smiled when he noticed sothing outside. "I hope you die a miserable death. I wish I didn’t have to speak to you like this but you’ve driven

here. I hate you," Benjamin confessed.

He couldn’t rember a day when he didn’t hate his father.

Vance sighed. "Are you done? If you didn’t hate

by now then I would have been surprised. Hate

all you want but get the job I placed you to do done. I need to talk to your mother about what she did when she was pregnant with you."

"There’s nothing wrong with

other than my father beating

for the smallest mistakes I made when I was a child. You’re part of the reason I drink," Benjamin said, rembering the first ti he made himself so drunk that he almost blacked out.

"Don’t put that all on ," Vance said, refusing to be a scapegoat for how Benjamin was. "I gave you everything you needed. You should thank

for what you have. I only told you to be the best little puppet you could be for the city."

"Yes, thank you for giving

everything and occasionally beating

when I ss up like children do. Then again, you always said that we weren’t like other children. As screwed up as I can be sotis, I am glad that I didn’t turn out like you. That I didn’t beat my children. I raised my hand once but never again," said Benjamin.

Vance wasn’t swayed by what Benjamin was telling him. "Have you gotten everything off your chest now? Do you want

to co next to you to hug you? I’m almost certain that you and Adeline plotted together to upset . The one thing you could work together on and it was this? I didn’t beat you enough."

"Where the hell is he going now?" Vance questioned, annoyed that the driver was going way off course. "Where are you going now? We won’t reach my ho at this rate."

"I’m sorry, Mr Smith. There’s soone who wants to et you."

"You," Vance realised what was happening. "Do you never want to work in this town again? You can’t go behind my back and plot for soone to et with . Are you stupid?"

The driver remained focused on the road. "I’m sorry but my hands were tied with the request."

For Vance, his driver was already fired in his head. He should know by now that he wasn’t to accept any request concerning his employer and take Vance to anyone.

Vance relaxed in his seat and left it to his bodyguards who rode in a different car to take care of whoever had co to speak to him. He had to admit that it was bold but it was also stupid. Once this person was taken care of, Vance wanted to see the idiot who managed to get his driver to do sothing so stupid.

"Did you help with this?" Vance asked, suspicious of the timing.

"? I’m your idiot son, rember? How would I be so smart to pull off sothing like this?" Benjamin asked but he secretly looked forward to the show.

Vance didn’t believe anything that ca out of Benjamin’s month. "Just a little longer and we’ll get the police to be escorting us around again. That is if you stop being an idiot."

Vance looked out his window at the three guards he travelled with approaching another car in the distance. When they were done, his driver should be dragged out of the car and left on the side of the road after a good beating.

Benjamin was starting to beco bored and his hope for an entertaining night was decreasing but a single gunshot heard restored his hope that he would get what he wanted.
