October arrived, yet the temperature still hadn't dropped.
Under the scorching sun, Li Hao was busy at a construction site where work had temporarily halted.
The site had unearthed ancient ruins from thousands of years ago, so ergency excavation was now underway.
Li Hao was in charge of the preliminary survey work for the rescue excavation—specifically responsible for operating and recording total station data, and mapping the corresponding ancient site plans and cross-sections.
Occasionally, when broken fragnts of artifacts were found in the soil mounds, Li Hao was also responsible for collecting and preserving them.
Although tedious, this work is the most fundantal skill required to beco a qualified archaeologist.
Honestly speaking, if it weren't for Li Hao's outstanding performance, this work would not have fallen to a freshman like him.
"Fortunately, it's almost wrapping up."
Wiping the sweat off his forehead, Li Hao began entering various data into the laptop and started modeling reconstruction of the ancient site.
This laptop wasn't Li Hao's, and his modeling work wasn't within his responsibilities either.
However, the professor who brought Li Hao to participate in this archaeological dig had given additional instructions.
Recently, the city museum has been collaborating with the school, planning to fully establish an electronic, informational online museum.
If Li Hao could convert this ancient site into a 3D model to prepare data for the future online museum, he could recomnd Li Hao for an internship at the museum.
Even though Li Hao wasn't concerned about these things, he chose to take on this extra work to be able to access more ancient and unknown cultures.
"That professor is just drawing a pie in the sky, can't you tell?"
Silently appearing at the collar of Li Hao's shirt, Hua She comnted as she flicked her tongue.
"Of course I can tell, I'm not an idiot."
Rolling his eyes helplessly, Li Hao stopped his work for a mont and said.
"It's just that that pie he drew is sowhat useful to ."
Understanding the implication instantly, Hua She responded quickly.
"Have you discovered sothing again?"
Li Hao was never soone to act without reason.
Plus, the fact that he didn't plan on going ho for the National Day holiday could only an sothing significant had happened that motivated him.
"Have you heard of the Bai Ze Map?"
Upon hearing this, Hua She nodded imdiately.
Being the Sun God of the Mountain and Sea Realm, how could she not know the famous "Bai Ze Map"?
Ever since the Old Gods of Mountains and Seas began to return, tales of the Holy Beast Bai Ze's past glorious achievents had also been passed down.
Know that the Mountain and Sea Civilization was already rooted in the belief in Bai Ze.
Coupled with bits of news passed down from the Old Gods of Mountains and Seas, people could piece together a general account of events.
"In the ancient Mountain and Sea Realm, due to the unique 'Path of the Creator' of the Mountain and Sea Gods, a spectacle was created where divine spirits, spirit monsters, and all living beings coexisted."
"Whether spirit monsters or gods, they were rely part of the whole picture of life."
"However, the power of the gods and spirit monsters was overwhelmingly strong, and every move triggered celestial calamities..."
"Learning to coexist with these powerful beings beca a crucial research topic for the intelligent beings of that ti."
At this point, Li Hao paused slightly, then continued.
"No, it wasn't just about simple coexistence..."
"During the flourishing tis of the ancient Mountain and Sea Realm, spirit monsters numbered in the millions, and one could encounter them anyti, anywhere. Simple coexistence couldn't solve the problem."
"Thus, gods descended with divine techniques to teach those wise beings how to identify spirit monsters and understand their might."
"Among them, Bai Ze was the most prominent, docunting 11,520 kinds of entities that transford from essence and wandering souls, detailing their nas, abilities, and weaknesses."
"This was the original 'Bai Ze Monster Map,' a culmination of Bai Ze's life-long efforts."
After listening quietly to Li Hao's recount, Hua She, sowhat puzzled, turned to look at him.
"So, how is this related to your discovery?"
With a faint, serene smile at the corner of his lips, Li Hao calmly began to explain.
"On this Huaxia land, there are records of the 'Bai Ze Monster Map.'
"It is said that during the reign of the Yellow Emperor, he encountered a divine beast nad 'Bai Ze' at the East Sea and received a complete 'Bai Ze Monster Map' from him."
"Unfortunately, after thousands of years, the original 'Bai Ze Monster Map' has long been lost."
"Only a colored rendition from the Tang Dynasty of the 'Bai Ze Monster Map' remains as fragnts in the Dunhuang Grottoes, passed down to modern tis."
"But even those two remaining Dunhuang fragnts were taken by Paul Pelliot in the early 20th century and are now kept in the National Library of France and the British Library."
Still not understanding the connection, a bewildered Hua She blinked her eyes.
"So?"
Li Hao snapped his fingers lightly, and a projection of a painting scroll appeared out of nowhere in his hand.
"The museum that the professor recomnded to
is trying to recompile and restore a digital version of the 'Bai Ze Monster Map.'
"If I could intern at the museum, I might get access to those two Dunhuang fragnts."
Upon hearing this, Hua She imdiately rolled her eyes.
"Great God of Gods, as long as you have the idea, you could get those two fragnts from the library at any mont!"
"I don't believe there's anyone on this planet who could stop you?"
Hua She was speaking the truth, but unfortunately, she completely misunderstood Li Hao's intentions.
"Those Dunhuang fragnts—if I want, I could indeed get them now..."
"But those are just two fragnts, not the genuine 'Bai Ze Monster Map.'
With Li Hao's current status, even recreating a complete 'Mountain and Sea God Map' with all the information about the Mountain and Sea Realm gods is just a matter of a change of thought.
Therefore, instead of the conventional "divine artifacts," Li Hao is now more in pursuit of an advantage and omniscience in terms of intelligence, data, and information.
"Do you want to acquire all the information on the original 'Bai Ze Monster Map'?"
Hua She finally understood what Li Hao wanted to do, her eyes wide in astonishnt.
"Yes, since there's an original 'Bai Ze Monster Map' on Earth, it ans Bai Ze must have appeared on Earth."
"Whether it was a brief stay or a complete demise, its appearance proves a fact..."
At this point, Li Hao tily paused the conversation.
So, Hua She didn't know for a long ti the sentence Li Hao added silently in his heart.
[Is it rely a coincidence for the Candle Dragon to appear on Earth?]
