Chapter 988: Chapter 84: Hello Great-Nieces
Giant Country, Alien Village.
Hearing the sound of the chariot crushing the snow, Gerd and Gai, who hadn’t slept all night, excitedly rushed out of the door.
Seeing Scadi driving the chariot alone, confusion appeared on the faces of the two little ones:
“Sister Scadi, why did you co back alone? Where is Brother Luo En?”
“He went sowhere to take care of so business,” Scadi casually replied.
A trace of disappointnt showed on the faces of the two little ones, and they couldn’t help but ask further:
“When will he be back?”
This question stumped Scadi, as Luo En hadn’t ntioned it before he left.
Seeing Scadi hesitating, the two little ones felt sowhat uneasy:
“Isn’t it very dangerous for Brother Luo En to go out alone?”
Facing the worried eyes of the two little girls, Scadi remained silent for a mont, then a reassuring smile appeared on her face, and she earnestly said:
“No, it’s not!”
~~
anwhile, in Turin City.
The Old Dwarf King, seeing the figure that appeared in the main hall, rubbed his eyes in disbelief:
“Lord Loki?”
Luo En smiled and nodded, speaking with a hint of apology:
“Sorry, Ivald, for disturbing you so late.”
“No need for apologies! You are welco anyti!”
The Old Dwarf King, while earnestly speaking, jogged down the steps to eagerly show his gratitude to the man who had saved their families, moving chairs and pouring water.
“There’s no need to be so formal, let’s sit down and talk,” Luo En stopped the Old Dwarf King’s overly enthusiastic actions, and casually asked, “How are your daughter and son now?”
The Old Dwarf King rubbed his hands, respectfully saying:
“Thanks to you, Eden is now working in the Eternal Garden, cleaning the Temple; my son’s spirit is also rging with his remade body, and it shouldn’t be long before he awakens. When that happens, I will definitely bring him to personally thank you.”
“That won’t be necessary,” Luo En said gently.
Saving the Dwarf King’s family had already been paid for by Eden, there was no need to trouble the Dwarf father and son further.
On the other hand, his relationship with the Seven Dwarf Clans was too close, which could make his suspicious Blood Alliance brother overthink and even consider weakening the Seven Dwarf Clans again, sothing not beneficial for the Dwarf Country.
However, to put the Old Dwarf King at ease, Luo En casually said:
“Actually, there is sothing I need your help with this ti.”
“Just say the word!”
The Old Dwarf King patted his chest eagerly, as if ready to go through fire and water for him.
The Dwarfs might not be cunning, but after experiencing the Dragon Disaster, it was clear which coattails to cling to for the survival of his clan and his own family.
Upon hearing Luo En’s request, the Old Dwarf King sighed in relief:
“So you an you need the Heart of Mountains.”
“It’s a loan.”
Luo En took a sip of tea, coughing to correct himself.
Getting the Heart of Mountains was only to pry from Saki the mystery of Scadi’s origin.
Once the father and daughter completed their deal and the old thing Saki loosened his lips, he could find a ti to sneak back into Giant Country and take the Heart of Mountains back from him, returning it to its rightful owner.
By then, if sothing was lost from Saki’s possession, he couldn’t bla Scadi, only his own incompetence.
Thinking this, Luo En smirked malevolently, almost seeing the impotent rage in Saki’s future.
At that mont, the Dwarf King waved his large hand and answered with a laugh:
“Loan or not, this thing is yours! You quelled the Dragon Disaster and saved my son, you are a great benefactor to the Dwarf Country and the Durin Clan. I was planning to offer you the Heart of Mountains as a gift when you returned to the Asa Divine Domain, to adorn your throne in the Temple!”
As he spoke, a sly gleam passed through the old Dwarf King’s eyes, belying his simple appearance.
The Heart of Mountains, the Aken Treasure Diamond, was an extraordinary item unearthed from the ore veins during the gold rush in the Northern Realm.
According to the original plan, this treasure was to be transported to Turin City to celebrate the union of the Seven Dwarf Clans and adorn the throne of the Dwarf King.
However, his son who was responsible for mining had turned into a Giant Dragon due to a Curse, and the Treasure Diamond was hence kept in the Dragon Nest. After much difficulty, the Aken Treasure Diamond was finally brought to Turin City.
But after this event, the Old Dwarf King deeply suspected that this Aken Treasure Diamond, like the Rhein Gold, carried an unknown Curse.
Moreover, a man with no guilt incurs bla by harboring valuable jade.
This divine and powerful treasure was not sothing the now declining Durin Clan of Dwarfs could possess. Even if the gods and Giants didn’t co to snatch it, other Dwarfs might not stay honest.
So, rather than living in constant fear over such an item, it made more sense to do a good deed, handing over this hot potato to Loki.
In this way, with the Aken Treasure Diamond representing the Dwarf King’s authority set in his throne, and his daughter Eden managing the Eternal Garden, cleaning the Temple, the Durin Clan would be firmly bound to this God of Fire and Deceit. Even in their declining period, they could stand firm in the Dwarf Country and gradually get through the crisis in the Nine Worlds.
Seeing the Old Dwarf King’s expression as if he wanted to dedicate his whole family to him, Luo En could roughly guess his motive.
Although he didn’t want to get too involved, since the Aken Treasure Diamond was indirectly vital in tracking down The Three Fates, he could only nod and agree:
