Chapter 985: Chapter 83: The Daughter Ran Away with the Blond Guy

In the castle built against the mountain, Mountain Giant King Saki sat grandly on his gem-studded throne.

He had the standard yellow-brown skin of the Mountain Giants, muscles coiling like dragons all over his body, with a height controlled to around three ters, robust but not bloated, giving one a mountainous sense of oppression and the profoundness molded by ti.

Although rocks do not possess the aggressiveness of wind and snow, they are more enduring against the ravages of the years.

Similarly, Mountain Giant King Saki’s strength in Jotunheim is not the strongest, nor is his reputation the loudest—often overshadowed by the Frost Giant King—yet his reign has outlasted several Frost Giant Kings.

Because he is one of the rare giants who has drunk from the Wisdom Spring Water, understood the Lun Runes, and learned to use his brain.

At this mont, seeing his daughter Scadi storming into the Royal Palace with an imposing aura, he was not angry but pleased:

“What, have you thought it through?”

Scadi asked coldly, “Was it you who sent the Giants to attack my village?”

Not hearing the answer he wanted, Saki shook his head in disappointnt and casually replied:

“What Giants? I have no idea what you’re talking about. Ever since those Asa Gods made a ruckus here, the Land of Chaos has been in disarray. Solem’s subordinates, now without control, have fled everywhere, wreaking havoc. Not only your villages but even my subjects have suffered from attacks.”

Hearing this seemingly justifiable reason, Scadi bit her lips and said:

“And when are you planning to restore order?”

“Restore order? You think too highly of ,”

Saki spread his hands helplessly and said,

“Right now, I have the Asa Divine Race pressing down from above, and conflict with my neighbor, the Frost Giant King Lafei. If either of them makes a move against , I’m afraid I’ll end up just like Solem. At this mont, I can’t even protect myself, how can I bother with the life and death of others?”

Hearing this earnest lant, Scadi fell silent.

Seeing her like this, Saki took the opportunity to speak:

“Scadi, my daughter. You went to the Dwarf Country to subdue the Dragon Disaster last ti; you should have seen the true colors of those from Asgard. They are in full swing now, squeezing our Giant Clan’s living space every mont. When Solem was still alive, by joining forces with him, we barely managed to control the Land of Chaos and secure a resting place for our entire Mountain Giant Clan. Now that Solem is slain by the Thunder God Thor, the Land of Chaos is in turmoil, and our power is at a low. If others target us, we will be in danger.”

“So, you want to send to Frost Giant King Lafei or Warner Divine King Niord?” Scadi counter-asked.

“It’s a helpless option. To live in peace, we need to stick together for warmth.” Saki answered honestly, then looked at his daughter sincerely, “You should have heard of Lafei and Niord’s capabilities. As long as you’re willing to marry over, they will definitely not mistreat you. At that ti, the whole Mountain Giant Clan will be grateful for your sacrifice.”

As Scadi listened, a trace of hesitation slowly erged on her face.

Indeed, she was still the sa as before—she could be swayed by gentleness but not by force.

Seeing his daughter wavering, Saki imdiately added fuel to the fire:

“Even if you don’t consider and our people, you should think about those outsiders you’ve taken in. If the order of the Land of Chaos completely collapses, how will those poor souls survive in this chaotic land? Without the restraint of you and , incidents like today may beco the norm.”

Faced with her father’s repeated persuasion and this undeniable truth, Scadi’s hesitation beca more apparent.

But just as she was about to speak, a faint voice ca from outside the corridor:

“Outsiders? So, you know which village was attacked by the Giants today?”

As the words reached her ears, Scadi suddenly realized sothing, raised her head sharply, and looked towards her father on the throne with alert.

She had almost been deceived!

She never ntioned which village was attacked. How could he be so certain that the attack was related to the settlent of outsiders?

Obviously, her father was likely involved and was trying to force her into compliance.

So, after all the talk and seemingly righteous performance, wasn’t he just thinking of sacrificing his own daughter to secure his throne?

At this mont, Saki also realized his slip of the tongue and looked ominously towards the Human from the Central Court stepping out from the shadows at the door:

“Who are you to interrupt a conversation between father and daughter!”

The mountainous pressure surged forward, ready to crush the entrant Luo En into pulp.

With her suspicions confird, Scadi’s eyes displayed deep disappointnt towards her father Saki, and she decisively stepped forward to stand in front of Luo En.

As she activated the Authority of ice and snow within her, she stoically withstood the Authority’s pressure from her father Saki and retorted coldly:

“He is the husband I chose, so he has every right to speak for !”

“Passing up on a proper King to marry a re Central Court man? You’re simply mad!”

Saki was furiously enraged, his face grim as he stretched out his right hand forward,

“It must be this little bastard who’s brainwashed you. Once I capture him, you’ll co to your senses!”

A gargantuan hand ford from the earth burst through the floor, reaching for Luo En.

Scadi unapologetically pulled out the Cen Wood Magic Wand from the Magic Circle Diagram, rapidly condensed the moisture in the air, and ford an ice wall to block this formidable strike.

To make her father Saki give up on targeting Luo En, Scadi explicitly declared:

“Forget it. Even without him, I won’t marry Lafei or Niord as you wish!”
