Chapter 904: Chapter 53: Divine Assistance from My Sister-in-Law_3
Judging by the external dilapidation and signs of decay, the structure seems to have been built before the Durin Clan switched allegiances.
However, in the Nordic God Era, a polytheistic world, while serving the gods of Midgard and Asgard, the Durin Clan didn’t completely abandon their worship of the Hunting God Skadi, who once protected the Northern Realm.
Thus, though the Temple appeared sowhat deserted from the outside, the interior remained as pristine as ever, with fresh fruits, vegetables, nectar, and prey laid upon the altar – evidently receiving regular offerings from the grateful Durin Dwarves.
“Skadi, you’re back!”
The future Goddess of the Hunt, Scouty, with her dark brown hair, excitedly rushed up to greet Skadi, taking the snack offered and retreating to a corner to enjoy it thoroughly.
And the orange cat culprit found itself smoothly captured by Skadi’s hands.
“What have you eaten today? Spit it out!”
“ow?”
The orange cat, with its big watery eyes, looked utterly bewildered.
“Stop feigning innocence!”
With a cold huff, Skadi unceremoniously punched the orange cat on the head:
“Open wide!”
In pain, the cat looked pleadingly at Scouty, its creator, but its master was wholeheartedly engrossed in her al, completely indifferent to its plight.
Left with no choice, the orange cat obediently opened its mouth.
Skadi skillfully widened the jaw of this disaster of a beast with one hand, while the other reached down its throat, searching.
“This doesn’t seem to be it…”
After a mont, Skadi glanced at the two gold bricks she pulled out and tossed them carelessly aside.
“Not this, not this either! Where is it?”
And so the second, third, and even the tenth item were pulled out in succession: from gemstones imbued with Magic Factors, to half-digested Magical Pigs, remnants of Dragon Crystal, and common minerals from ley lines…
Observing these items extracted from Yengade’s belly, Luo En couldn’t help but marvel at the cat’s expansive diet and huge appetite.
Unfortunately, none of these items were what he had lost, and regardless of their value, they were irrelevant to him.
“Found it!”
Finally, after pulling out a hundred or so miscellaneous things from Yengade’s stomach, Skadi eventually located the tal blanks described by the owner.
With a wave of her hand clearing the miscellany that cluttered the Temple, she watched Luo En receive the washed tal blanks. A satisfied smile crossed her chilly face, feeling quite accomplished.
All this hassle for a few tal blanks?
I should never have swallowed them!
Yengade, now a quarter of its original size and reduced to skin and bones, was on the verge of tears. Seizing a mont when Skadi was distracted, it desperately wriggled free from the Goddess of the Hunt’s grasp, leaping back into Scouty’s arms. There it absorbed the Divine Power emanating from its mother to alleviate its hunger while joining her al.
The two gluttons quickly polished off a large stack of pastries. Scouty, still unsatisfied, wiped her mouth and then finally found the ti to lift her head and curiously examine today’s visitor in the Temple:
“Luo En, right? I recognize you.”
Upon hearing this, Luo En tensed with wariness.
Together with the World Snake Yengade, along the road, he had inquired about the cat owner’s na – Angelboda, and the true identity of this little girl before him all but revealed itself.
— The future Goddess Scouty.
— His intended, yet-to-be-married fiancee.
As Luo En pondered whether he had inadvertently given himself away, Scouty quickly stepped forward, tilting her head and asking with a playful smile:
“I heard you’re a nice guy, is that true?”
“That’s an overstatent. It’s just friends talking up.”
“Have you gotten married yet?”
“Not yet, what about it?”
Luo En cautiously responded, ready to react violently at any mont.
What’s this about?
Are we reigniting old flas, or is this a plan for revenge on a heartbreaker?
Unexpectedly, Scouty’s face shone with an even brighter smile, praising enthusiastically:
“It’s great that you’re not married!”
Caught up in her excitent, she patted Luo En’s shoulders vigorously, her eyes gleaming with joy as if squinting into crescent moons, and she silently chuckled to herself.
Since my second sister likes him, he’s the one.
Although with the Authority I possess, I can’t erase that divine seal from thin air, I can create a chaotic future!
Like, drawing my sister into another contract for risk mitigation.
I am such a genius!
While boasting to herself, Scouty, through physical contact, etched the mark of the [Future] on her personally chosen one—
—Fate favors you, and the present Belldandy will forever be by your side!
anwhile, at the Guild.
“Achoo!”
Having bid farewell to her sister and returned earlier, Belldandy sneezed loudly, feeling an inexplicable chill creep in.
As if sothing bad was quietly unfolding…
