Chapter 840: Chapter 28: A girl in our family has co of age, with a spirit soaring above mountains and overshadowing the world.

“Boom!”

A red-black bony head crown with bull horns shattered in response, and the kiloter-tall humanoid monster made up of flas, magma, and dirt crumbled apart.

Luo En, holding the Magic Sword Leavateinn, stood amidst the sky of falling fire, watching the disintegrating Fire Giant King Surtr and the scattering army of Fire Giants, yet his face showed little joy.

Seven years.

It had been seven years since he led troops from Midgard to head to the Southern Realm to intercept the invasion of the Fire Giants.

During this prolonged seven years of war, he seized opportunities to slay Surtr more than a dozen tis.

But each ti after Surtr was killed, this Fire Giant King would only lie dormant for a ti before being resurrected from the flas of Muspelheim, leading a huge revived force of Fire Giants to attack Midgard once again.

“Eternal Fire…”

Luo En murmured softly, looking up at Muspelheim, filled with sulfur, smoke, magma, and live volcanoes, his brow furrowed.

This secret treasure of the Fire Country is said to be connected to the lifeline of Nordic fate, signifying the world’s destiny, never to be extinguished.

Therefore, it could grant Fire Giant King Surtr the power of Infinite Regeneration until the gods face twilight and the world reaches its end.

The only way to prevent Surtr’s Resurrection was to find the Eternal Fire and sever its connection.

In order to thoroughly quell this turmoil, after killing Surtr, Luo En had also made several forays into the Fire Country in an attempt to find the Eternal Fire, hoping to accomplish his mission once and for all.

However, during these seven years, he searched every corner of Muspelheim—as if digging three feet into the ground—but could not find any trace of the Eternal Fire.

It was as though this thing didn’t exist at all.

Or perhaps, it might be so sort of providential power, obstructing his search.

Luo En narrowed his eyes and gave the order:

“Retreat.”

“Not searching anymore?”

Freya, serving as the deputy, kicked aside the charred stone corpse of a Fire Giant at her feet, sowhat surprised by her superior’s order.

After several tis slaughtering Surtr and fruitlessly searching for the Eternal Fire, they had contemplated retreating.

But strangely enough, whenever the Immortal Palace army was ready to return ho, the fire power in Muspelheim would beco abnormally active, increasing the number of Fire Giants, and Giant King Surtr would also revive during this period.

This forced the Immortal Palace army to remain on guard at the border, defending against the attack of Fire Giants.

So, Freya couldn’t help but doubt whether this retreat would go smoothly.

Luo En glanced at Freya beside him, then gazed into the distance toward the smoke-wreathed Fire Country:

“I never planned to hang myself on just one tree in my many trips to Muspelheim.”

Hearing this, Valkyrie’s eyes lit up:

“Do you have another thod?”

Luo En nodded and replied in a deep voice:

“There are two ways to extinguish a fire. One is to directly aim for the source, proactively putting out the burning flas; the other is to remove all flammable materials nearby, creating a containnt circle, letting the flas that can’t get more fuel extinguish by themselves.”

Freya quickly grasped the implication, instantly understanding.

“You’ve tampered with Muspelheim!”

Luo En remained silent, slightly raising his hand toward the distant Muspelheim.

“Hummmm!”

Instantly, beams of light shot up into the sky, with countless golden Lun Runes whirring and dancing among them, weaving a huge Magic Circle Diagram in the sky.

Its scope stretched tens of thousands of miles, covering the entire Muspelheim.

Like a golden cage, it imprisoned this burning land and the creatures inhabiting it.

—Great God’s Cage.

This was another outco of Luo En’s seven years.

Although he couldn’t find the Eternal Fire, he had inscribed nurous Lun Runes in the ley lines throughout Muspelheim.

These Runes restructured the foundation of the place, not only intercepting nutrients from the World Tree to Muspelheim but also transforming Muspelheim’s fire power into Magic Power to sustain the operation of Spells, thereby significantly delaying Surtr’s resurrection and tightly restraining the Giant Clan within Muspelheim.

While not a permanent solution, he wouldn’t need to worry about Muspelheim’s army stirring up trouble for at least a few decades.

Having done all these, Luo En waved his hand:

“Let’s go, we can go ho now.”

The Immortal Palace Guards and Human from Central Court who had followed him on the expedition heard the news; they were first taken aback, then realizing what it ant, let out a deafening cheer.

This long seven-year war had been tornt for every sentient being present.

The incessant Fire Giants, the air filled with toxic fus and smoke, the volcanoes erupting now and then… Everything in Muspelheim emanated an aura of destruction and doom, truly hard to endear themselves to.

After enduring for so long, they could finally say goodbye to this hellish place, return to the nicer environnt of Midgard and the Immortal Palace, have a good al, and get a good night’s sleep.

The Soldiers’ faces brimd with joy as they quickly ford ranks and completed the retreat through the Rainbow Bridge.

A flash of light passed, and Luo En descended from the altar, looking at the verdant lushness around him and familiar buildings, feeling exceptionally warm.

Heather Island, finally back again.

Leaving the follow-up military affairs to Freya as usual, Luo En, containing his slightly excited emotions, arrived in front of the Fertility Temple.

“Daddy!”

Before even entering, the keen-nosed Heluo sniffed excitedly and dashed out of the temple, knocking over her Feeder and mounting on top of him.
