Chapter 779: Chapter 3 High-Level Green Tea Chapter 779: Chapter 3 High-Level Green Tea Several dozen days later, Odin paid another visit.
Upon entering the cave, he gave his newly acquainted blood-brother a big hug, with his face so full of excitent and joy that it was overflowing:
“Loki, the ad you brewed is fantastic! The jars I brought back to our clan didn’t even touch my lips—they were all snatched up by the kinsfolk who got a taste of it. As soon as the blizzard stopped, they gathered all the items you wanted, and begged to co and exchange with you!”
As Odin spoke, his spear traced several robust lines on the ground with gentle taps.
The saltpeter from Mist Country, the ores from Fire Country, the skins and at of Magic Beasts, the bones of Giants…a vast array of unique products from the Nordic Divine Era and so materials needed for brewing poured out of the brightening Magic Circle Diagram, nearly filling up half of the storeroom in the cave.
There was even a small bottle of milk from the prival cow Audumbla.
Such precious items being offered for exchange proved just how popular honey wine was among the Divine Race.
A glint appeared in Luo En’s eyes as he showed a troubled expression:
“You’ve offered too much; the honey wine in my storeroom is far from sufficient.”
...
Upon hearing this, Odin laughed heartily:
“No worries, just use these materials to brew, that’ll do. When the honey wine is ready, I’ll bring people to collect it!”
During their conversation, his satisfaction with his blood-brother grew.
Setting aside the fact that he had saved his life, his reaction to the treasure spread before him wasn’t that of insatiable greed; he was straightforward in ensuring fairness, proving himself a worthy friend indeed.
Thinking this, Odin removed a silver pendant from his chest, placing it in Luo En’s hand:
“This is my share. You saved last ti and even treated to that much honey wine. I’ve yet to formally thank you; consider this a token of my gratitude.”
Seeing that refusal was futile, Luo En reluctantly accepted it and lowered his gaze to observe the gift.
The main material was mithril, and its design was unique. Three overlapping arcs ford a shape resembling leaves interconnected (similar to the Holy Symbol on the Thunder God’s Hamr).
Three-Branch Rune?
Rembering the esoteric knowledge accumulated in his mind, Luo En looked at the dallion in his hand with a trace of surprise.
This was a widely used Holy Symbol in Nordic culture, often serving as a token of protection and blessing.
Moreover, the Three-Branch Rune was also interpreted as a sign of the Trinity, especially after the Celtic cultural revival in the 19th century; it beca a Christian emblem. For Christians, the three branches represented the Trinity: one God in three persons.
Receiving such a symbolically rich item from Odin left Luo En feeling inexplicably complex.
Continuing to observe, he made another discovery.
“What is this?”
Luo En, pointing at the three Runes etched onto the leaves, asked out of curiosity.
Although referred to as Runes, they were really crude primitive Divine Pattern lines.
After all, the Nordic Divine Era of the present was ancient, and Odin had yet to understand the complete system of Runes from the World Tree, hence the incompleteness of the Nordic rune system.
In response to his good brother’s question, Odin replied candidly:
“Well, it’s thanks to you. Grandfather and Father were quite satisfied with the honey wine I brought back. They didn’t scold but instead blessed with a new Divine Na and Authority?”
“You can even bestow it again?” Luo En was sowhat surprised.
Odin nodded affirmatively, answering solemnly:
“For deities, a na is not just an identity but a manifestation of Authority; they represent different essences.”
Listening, Luo En nodded thoughtfully.
In ancient tis, a na was often related to a person’s profession, identity, or capabilities, as in the case of the Giant parents he ntioned: one symbolizing the Thunderbolt, the other symbolizing the great tree.
Through further questioning, Luo En learned from Odin the pronunciation and aning of the three Divine Nas.
They were Odin, Willie, and Ve. Together they ford the complete identity of the future Nordic Divine King.
Among these, Odin stood for the Divine; Willie symbolized Spirit; and Ve ant Will. Clearly, this implied that Ancestor Buri and Divine King Bao’er wished for the Divine Race to walk toward a divine and glorious future under Odin’s leadership.
It appeared that the two rulers of the Divine Race had, in so sense, acknowledged his status as the heir after the honey wine Odin previously brought back, and each bestowed upon him powerful authority and expectations.
However, this sense of déjà vu made Luo En think of the famous Trinity concept of the future.
Together with the Three-Branch Rune in his hand, which had a myriad of connections to himself, his mood grew even more complex,
Originally, he was just planning to set a trap for the Nordic Divine Race, to instigate a clash between the Nordic Divine Race and the Giant Clan.
Now, before any signs of conflict had erged, he inadvertently gave a significant enhancent to the future Nordic Divine King Odin, shaping him into a conceptual deity of the Trinity.
Moreover, this change seed to be an inevitable accord with historical facts.
“`
Perhaps, the Heavenly Destiny of the Nordic World was at play, mysteriously guiding events.
Tch, why is it so difficult to sabotage sothing?
As Luo En was muttering to himself, Odin, mistaking his brother-in-arms for considering the gift too precious to accept, heartily patted Luo En’s shoulder and laughed aloud,
“Take it, if it weren’t for your help, I would have barely made it back alive, let alone earned the recognition of my grandfather and father. I hope this amulet imbued with Divine Power can protect you from any evil harm!”
Hearing Odin’s earnest words, Luo En gave a dry laugh, nodded, and deftly changed the subject,
“I will make the honey wine for you as soon as possible and let you know when it’s done.”
“How about 30 days? I’ll bring people to collect it then?”
“Are you in such a hurry to take action?”
“Yes…”
Odin had just responded when he suddenly realized sothing was amiss and forced a stiff smile.
“What are you talking about?”
“Heh, I make the honey wine. From the mont you asked if this wine could intoxicate Ymir, I had a vague idea of what you intended to do with it. Did you really think you could fool ?”
Luo En shook his head with a sneer, looking at the silver amulet in his hand, he smiled faintly and said,
“Besides, a few jars of honey wine are hardly enough to make the Ancestor Giant Buri and Divine King Bao’er suddenly place high hopes on you and shower you with favors. It must be that so decision of yours affects the entire future of the Divine Race, which explains their complete change of attitude towards you.”
Upon hearing this, Odin’s expression fluctuated, and he cautiously looked at his blood-oath brother, his right hand unconsciously gripping his spear tighter.
Luo En rolled his eyes at his “good brother” and huffed with annoyance, “What are you nervous about? If I wanted to snitch, I wouldn’t have agreed to brew the wine for you.”
With these words, Odin’s tense body instantly relaxed, half relieved and half terrified, he looked at his good brother,
“You almost scared to death! If you really planned to snitch, today, only one of us might have survived.”
Luo En just smiled, neither confirming nor denying.
Subsequently, as Odin’s emotions cald down, he looked at his blood-oath brother with a frown and asked the question on his mind,
“Why did you decide to help ?”
“Who made us drink Blood Wine, swearing oaths not to harm or betray each other?”
Luo En replied irritably, seemingly regretful,
“I can’t just watch you go to your death, can I?”
At these words, Odin’s face showed sudden embarrassnt, and a strong sense of guilt surged in his heart.
Initially, the blood pact he made with the other party, becoming brothers, was just a spur-of-the-mont thing while drunk, really not based on much real affection.
But, unexpectedly, the son of a Giant before him truly regarded him as a brother, knowing full well that he aid to make a move on Ancestor Giant Ymir, and still didn’t snitch.
On impulse, Odin slapped his thigh and turned to walk outside the cave,
“Brother, say no more! I’m going back to tell grandfather and father that you’re not around, and the honey wine can’t be made. We’ll discuss later how to deal with Ymir and those Giants.”
Luo En grabbed Odin’s arm in one swift movent and retorted with a cold huff,
“Do you think you can withstand the wrath of Ancestor Giant Buri and Divine King Bao’er?”
“…”
Odin’s step froze, and a hint of fear appeared in his eyes, as he bitterly smiled with regret,
“If only I hadn’t been too clever for my own good, telling grandfather and father about using honey wine to deal against Ymir and the Giant Clan. Now we both are in a difficult position.”
“Does a difficult position an we just give up? If we delay any longer, your Divine Race will be on the brink of extinction. Enough said, I will get the honey wine made as quickly as possible, but as for how effective it will be against the Ancestor Giant Ymir, you’ll have to test it yourselves.”
Luo En patted Odin’s shoulder with a brother’s resolve to go through thick and thin.
Upon hearing this, Odin felt even more remorse,
“What will happen to you if we make a move on Ymir?”
“I am your blood-oath brother, do you think if another Divine Race takes over, you would mistreat ?”
“Absolutely not!”
Spurred by these words, Odin promptly thumped his chest and vowed,
“As long as I’m here, the Divine Race will always have a place for you!”
As a forthright Nordic god, Odin had never encountered such high-level manipulation from Greece, and now he was completely ensnared.
