The more excellent I am, the greater the accomplishnts of the gods, and thus the more exalted their existence!
So, in a special way, I am just expressing the highest respect to those great creators of Olympus.
If they are not satisfied, that's their problem, but to throw into hell as punishnt, that's really petty!
Luo En was startled upon hearing these words and couldn't help taking several more looks at the talkative deceiver before him.
He seed to have said sothing similar when he t Athena...
Imdiately after, Luo En patted the dark boulder in front of Sisyphus, his eyes deep with aning.
"Tornted day after day by this aningless toil, do you regret it?"
Sisyphus's sophistry ca to an abrupt end, but a pleasant smile still blood on that handso face.
"Is it really aningless? I feel quite fulfilled, very proud. As long as I am here, there will always be sothing to do.
In my eyes, what I am pushing forward is not rely a boulder, but a monunt to humanity breaking through fetters and mocking the gods. This is the greatest achievent of my life!"
Upon hearing this, Luo En examined Sisyphus for a long while, and then burst into a hearty, unabashed laughter.
"Interesting, very interesting, then I'll take your monunt for myself!"
In an instant, the outline of the Spear of Nation-Building appeared in Luo En's hand, its faintly glowing edge sweeping forward, and the shackles at the prisoner's feet snapped apart.
At the sa ti, the dark boulder crumbled apart, with hundreds of lines of light flickering and rging into a red and black ribbon of light, shooting straight into the sky.
"Hum!"
Ripples accompanied by the ether humming spread out, and the gray and black death air around them boiled and surged like boiling water.
Bone friction, wails of departed souls, and the low howls of hunting dogs overlapped in a cacophony of sound.
"They're coming after us, hurry!"
Having just escaped, Sisyphus yelled and transford into a whirlwind, leaving Luo En and Thetis behind as he fled forward at full speed.
As everyone knows, when running for your life, you don't need to be very fast, just faster than your companions.
And he was not only the king of Corinth but also the son of Aeolus, the god of storms and fierce winds.
His family was also known by another na—Rider of the Wind.
Therefore, Sisyphus had enough confidence in his speed.
Unless...
"Swoosh!"
Just as Sisyphus was smug about his speed, a fierce gust of wind swept past him, and the smile froze on his face.
Looking at his "partner" who was shouldering a burden and still far ahead, Sisyphus cursed inwardly.
That bitch of Lady Luck, she really let encounter soone with Hers' Divine Speed...
"What are you dawdling for? Lead the way!"
Luo En glanced back at their temporary guide whose expression was clouded, deliberately slowed down to maintain only a few steps' lead, and "kindly" reminded,
"If you don't run, those things you ntioned seem to be coming..."
Hearing this, Sisyphus shuddered and quickly conjured the most unsightly expression that was worse than crying, then pushed his godly wind powers to the limit, embarking on a desperate flight.
anwhile, amidst the wilderness, the death fog surged as ethereal patrols from the Netherworld ford and let out shrill screams, waving their translucent claws in a bid to corner an escaped convict and two intruders.
And beneath the trio's feet, the ground of the Netherworld trembled and humd as skeletal warriors crawled out of the dark earth, their death essence forming pitch-black armor and their bones serving as swords and spears, as they arrayed in lines and advanced towards the center, attempting to annihilate the intruders.
"It originates from light, its majesty lies in fla; judgent by sword, punishnt by fire!"
A solemn chant echoed in the gray and dreary wastes of death as the Golden Disk materialized behind Luo En, its pointer moving to the sixth slot,
"——I command you, bring forth the light!"
Accompanied by the marching figure pulsing with the authority of the [Fire], he recited holy words and, with a curling motion of his fingers, grabbed at the air before him. Thousands of fissures of light ford on the gray wasteland, and from them erupted intense white flas.
In an instant, the patrolling spirits and Skeletal Guards of the Netherworld along the way, together with the surrounding aura of death, evaporated into wisps of smoke, scattered by the wind.
"Hiss~!"
Upon witnessing the scene before him, Sisyphus gasped in astonishnt, his gaze turning toward the temporary partner in front of him.
With a single strike, he annihilated over a hundred Netherworld patrollers and Skeletal Guards. Just who was this guy?
Fortunately, he hadn't done anything out of line; otherwise, wouldn't his own small fra have been torn apart by the foe opposite him?
While Sisyphus was secretly relieved, a deep inquiry reached his ears.
"Where's the way out? Where is it?"
"Ahead! The ferry crossing! The Netherworld is encircled by three interwoven Styx rivers. It's too well-guarded to walk through, but we can take the waterways to get where we want to go!"
Sisyphus hurriedly answered, not daring to hide anything under the intimidation of that previous strike.
"Good..."
Luo En nodded with satisfaction and, taking advantage of the remaining power of the [Fire], began tracing sothing in the air with his fingers.
Hum!
In an instant, Hers Script, Titan Symbols, Linear Letters, and a whole series of mystical symbols that would drive magicians to madness and devotion, converged from the residual flas into a cascade of light, spreading in all directions. As commonplace as cabbages, they covered the ground and lit up the sky.
Suddenly, a path of pure white brilliance stretched directly toward the Styx Ferry Crossing.
Patrolling spirits that were regenerated in the aura of death and Skeletal Guards that crawled out from the depths of the earth were kept at bay.
Looking at the exposed gray-black soil of the Netherworld before him, and beyond the white path of light, the dense crowd of Netherworld patrollers and Skeletal Guards, Sisyphus's estimation of the collaborator in front of him climbed several notches.
He's also proficient in magic?
Even though he did not know where this fellow ca from, he was certainly not soone to be provoked!
"It's there, follow !"
Trying to demonstrate his own value, Sisyphus quickly pointed toward the ferry crossing of the Styx ahead and took the lead.
Luo En picked up Thetis and decisively followed.
Almost there!
Seeing that the ferry crossing of the Styx was revealing a clear outline, Sisyphus was thrilled and just about to turn around to offer so words of celebration.
Unexpectedly, the temporary partner behind him kicked out, sending him flying more than ten ters away, nearly tumbling into the tumultuous Styx.
"You..."
Overco by shock and anger, Sisyphus was just about to call out and denounce his ungrateful teammate.
"Bang!"
But then, a shadow with three heads, its necks adorned with bronze collars and a body as robust as an ox, burst out from the miasma of death, smashing the path of light, and lunged to the spot where he had been just before.
"Woof~!"
As the strike missed, the creature growled lowly, lifting its three heads; glistening saliva dripped from its white teeth, and six dark red eyes stared intently at the fugitives by the edge of the Styx.
The creature across from it, on two legs, slled delicious.
anwhile, at the sight of the true form of this monster, Sisyphus felt a shiver down his spine, cursing inwardly.
Damnit, the Hellhound, Cerberus!
The stupid dog guarding the gate had actually followed them!
