Yang Chen observed his surroundings. Down at the boiling lava pool, there were nurous rocks and structures probably from the heyday of the sect, floating around.
From how dispersed and fractured they were, he reckoned that a big battle must have happened here a ling ti ago. Nevertheless, thanks to that battle, there was ample foothold for him to use.
Imdiately, he jumped down and used the shattered structures as foothold while making his way.
Yang Chen’s action didn’t go unnoticed. Several practitioners who saw him go down, similarly mimicked his way to traverse the lava. However, there were always bound to be so who underestimate the formation. Naturally, their fate was a cruel one.

In the sea of lava, boiling liquefied flas jutted out of the pool intermittently. The air here was so hot that even breathing it seared one’s lungs.
Thankfully, Yang Chen had the undying ability as such, he could be more reckless when charging ahead. He could see many practitioners trailing behind him and didn’t want any of them to get to the treasure faster than him.

Scaled body, razor sharp teeth and an elongated figure. Its fra was decked with many sharp spikes and thick armor capable of stopping any attacks. Dozens of gigantic crocodiles peeked their head out of the lava.
"Ancient Lava Crocodile. To think that you would encounter such demonic beasts here, your bad luck never fails to amuse ... kfufu" As always, the demon seed to take quite so pleasure in his misery.
"Since you are in the mood to enjoy this situation, then it must an that there is a way out of this predicant, right?"
By now, Yang Chen was already used to the antics of the little demon. If the latter didn’t judge the situation as absolutely hopeless, he wouldn’t be in such a carefree mood. After all, the demon was connected to the system. If he died, so would the demon.

Just as he ca to a realisation, the Ancient Lava Crocodiles attacked. As Amon said, driven by instinct, they went for practitioners with higher levels.
The ancient domain had attracted a variety of people from all corners of the desert region as well as the empire. As such, it wasn’t unusual to find a few practitioners still hiding their strength.
They were the black horse that could turn the tide of this inheritance battle. Their strength attracted quite a few Ancient Lava Crocodiles.
One practitioner amongst them specifically stood out. Well, more than standing out, it was just too eye catching how many crocodiles they managed to attract.
If a powerful practitioner in Nine Star Battle Grandmaster level or higher managed to attract two or three Ancient Lava Crocodiles, then that person attracted more than a dozen Ancient crocodiles.
Just the scene of them being surrounded by so many scaled demonic beasts gave chills to anybody watching.

Yang Chen clenched his teeth and prepared for battle. It seems like his strength did manage to attract one over. Thankfully, it was just one. He should be able to sohow handle it.
SPALSH... the giant Ancient Lava Crocodile peered its head out of the boiling flas and ca snapping at him.
Imdiately, Yang Chen took out the spear he got from the ancient hall earlier. A dark brown spear appeared in his hands. It had a long shaft with deep hidden indents shining with a dim light.
Coiling around the length of the spear was the engraving of an ancient dragon, so life-like it seed ready to leap out at any mont. The spearhead was slender, shaped like a dragon’s fang.
When held, it gave off a heavy, ancient pressure, like a sleeping beast that could awaken at any ti.
Flood Dragon Spear... that was the na of the spear. When Yang Chen held the spear, a droplet of his blood seeped from the edges of his finger nails and seeped into the spear, thus forming a connection with him.
Swoosh... Air vibrated as he brandished the spear. Although it was just simple actions, every movent and thrust carried the angry roars of a dragon. Ethereal Grade weapon... not bad!! However, it wasn’t the only thing he prepared for this battle.
"Ancient Lava Crocodile. Heh, don’t mind if I use you as a test bed to test the strength of my new battle skill— [Soaring Dragon Spear Arts]"
A Mystic Grade skill and one that cost him a whopping 90,000 mischief points. However, since it was for improving his combat strength, it was worth it.
