However, as the man and the beast walked by, all the demonic beasts who would usually go rampant at the scent of the humans and attack wildly, cowered at the first signs of their presence and even backed away from their own territory in fear.
Even the Three Star Battle Grandmaster demonic beast, War Ape General who was the boss of this territory, showed visible signs of fear and dared not co out of its territory to bother them.
Needless to say, the man and the beast were Yang Chen and his new battle companion, the Flacrest White Tiger.
When Yang Chen first appeared inside this mountain valley and saw that no demonic beast showed signs of attacking him, he was quite puzzled. Though in the next few days he realised the reason why.
These demonic beasts weren’t afraid of him; instead, they were afraid of the little tiger beside him. This little tiger that he picked up coincidentally inside the forest near the Yan clan was of a very high bloodline as compared to these ordinary demonic beasts.
As such, just a whiff of its presence was enough to scare these demonic beasts to their core. Thanks to the deterrence that the was the little tiger, Yang Chen had a relatively carefree journey these past few days.
Soon, after travelling for a while, they ca in front of a huge mountain range. Reaching high into the sky, these mountains appeared grand and awe inspiring. The top of the mountain couldn’t be seen as clouds wrapped them like a soft blanket.
Standing in front of these mountain ranges, Yang Chen couldn’t help but feel extrely tiny. Like ancient guards, they stood mightily and gave off a heavy pressure.
"After we cross this mountain range, we should finally be arriving at the Orchid City" Yang Chen spoke to seemingly no one yet he got an answer from his battle companion who growled in response.
This little tiger possessed high intelligence even for its race as such, it clearly understood what he said. They had been travelling at a high speed from Yan city to here, avoiding most of the cities that ca across their path and only resting when necessary.
Like this, they were able to cut their trip ti extrely short. Of course, Yang Chen had to thank little tiger for it, whose deterrence caused all the demonic beasts they t on their way to be scared of them.
"Hmm, calling it Little Tiger seems abnormal. Should I give it a na?" As he used the branches of the tree as a pedestal to travel through the mountain range, the thought arrived in his mind.
In any case, the flacrest tiger had beco his battle companion and they would be going through the future ordeals together. He couldn’t call it a little tiger or with its race na forever. Thus giving it a na was necessary.
"Good idea, this little guy will be of much use to you in the future. Although the Flacrest White Tiger are an extrely fierce race, but once they form a connection with another, no other demonic beats are more loyal than them. It is already attached to you; however, once you give it a na, your bond will beco even stronger" Amon explained, reading his thoughts.
"So, what will you call it?".
At that question, Yang Chen’s mind spun and he thought of various cool and aweso sounding nas.
Growl~ though when he saw the little tiger’s cute eyes that shone like rubies and its adorable nature, he couldn’t help but discard all those nas and give it a cute nickna.
"How about Little Cloud?"...
"Little Cloud?" Amon parroted.
"Yeah, because it’s white and adorable just like a ball of cloud" Yang Chen explained his reasoning for giving it that na.
"What kind of silly na is that..." Just as Amon was about to make fun of it, the little tiger rubbed its head against Yang Chen as if telling him that it liked the na.
"Haha, so you like it huh? Alright, from now on your na is Little Cloud" Yang Chen rubbed the fur of this little fellow before continuing to advance forward.
They travelled for another day and were just about to see the end in sight of this mountain range when suddenly Amon’s caution rang inside his head "Be careful"...
Imdiately, he ca to a stop. Little Cloud also stopped beside him and turned its eyes ahead as a fierce light shone in those cute little eyes of his.
Understanding that sothing was wrong, Yang Chen used his [Ethereal Vision Technique] to scan his surroundings. Soon, he found out the reason behind Amon’s and Little Cloud’s caution.
There, a few hundred ters ahead of him, a camp could be seen set up. A couple of figures sat around that camp while lazily discussing sothing.
Judging by their aura, they appear to be at the Nine Star Battle Master level, with the one in the middle being a One Star Battle Grandmaster. There were about seven of them, and the fact that they wore similar robes indicated that they belonged to the sa faction.
When Yang Chen saw these people, his eyes couldn’t help but widen and a grim look appeared on his face. Given his current strength, a lineup like this wouldn’t even catch his eye.
However, the reason why his expression was so grim was because he recognised the robes these people were wearing. Bright gaudy clothes like the colour of flas with golden lining around the collar and cuffs.
There was no doubt, that these extrely flashy robes showcased that they were from the Yan clan. All along the way, he had deliberately chosen to avoid entering cities in fear of alerting the eyes and ears of Yan Clan.
Even when he entered a few cities out of necessity, he had concealed himself and observed his surroudnings. However, from the fact that he found no sings of the Yan clan being anywhere near, he thought that they had given up on him.
