Chapter 709: Square Root Three’s Strong Points

Translator: Halcyon Translations Editor: Halcyon Translations

Lu Li was quite disappointed.

He knew that he had made a na for himself in the gaming community and he could at least consider the offer. However, he declined the position straight away without saving face for Lu Li.

Ruling Sword was in desperate need of a coach. Lu Li was looking for soone who could pass on their experience while instilling a professional mindset in their players.

"Let’s talk about your daughter then. Does she have the intention of playing for Ruling Sword?" Square Root Three asked, changing the topic straight away after being rejected.

Lu Li wasn’t sure why he had decided to give up so quickly, but he remained silent.

Despite his rebirth, in terms of social interaction, he could never compare himself to Square Root Three. This was because of their differences in upbringing and social class, as well as Square Root Three’s past experiences.

"I..." Kitty Likes at looked at her parents.

Her mother smiled while patting her head and saying, "If you want to join them, then go ahead. If you don’t want to find a job after you graduate, then you might as well find sothing to do at ho rather than lying around all day with nothing to do.

"Ruling Sword is located in a suburb close to the university. It’s a very safe and clean neighborhood."

"Yes, we’ve research into this. There are only you guys and Star Moon Union in Gangnam now. Oh yeah, Little Three, weren’t you in Star Moon Union before?" her father casually asked.

Square Root Three felt slightly bitter, but kept up his smile and answered, "Yes, I left Star Moon not too long ago and established a new guild with Lu Li."

"Mmm, Star Moon Union doesn’t seem like they have a very bright future. You’ve got great insight and knowledge of what’s best for yourself. Drunkard is very capable of supporting a guild by himself anyways."

Kitty Likes at’s father seed to know about Drunkard as well. In his mind, he probably thought that Drunkard was more capable than Lu Li, who was newly erging young leader.

"Lu Li is not bad either. I don’t even play this ga and I’ve heard about him." Mother Cat complinted, afraid that her husband’s words were too blunt and straightforward.

"Our team has March Rain and Mu Qiu as our main healers, Sakura mories, who has Bloodlust and excels in team fights, and Fat Monkey, who is basically a walking glass cannon. Moonlight and Lu Li are both capable of defeating most star players in the ga in any given situation. We are looking to recruit two mbers that can provide DPS and give us more fire power, and we think that Kitty Likes at is very suitable and fitting for that role. We’ve co today with sincerity and hope to recruit your daughter," Square Root Three explained, getting straight to the point.

Kitty Likes at was very touched by his speech. She was dying to get on the big stage, no matter how much she was paid.

There weren’t any other guilds that could guarantee giving her playing ti. Most guilds would develop their rookie players and only allow them to play when they felt like they were ready. Only small guilds that were lacking in numbers would allow their new recruits to start right away. However, these types of guilds never usually advanced deep into the tournant.

Kitty’s mother was more interested in the fact that her work would be quite close to the university. As long as it was not too far away, she could always visit her and check up on her whenever she wanted.

When you beca a professional player, the ga was no longer a hobby but a job.

Anyone who had seen past matches of Ruling Sword would know the players that Square Root Three was talking about.

Besides Moonlight, every mber of Ruling Sword’s current team were naless players that had suddenly erged into the professional scene. All of these players were now worth over 1.5 million dollars. As such, there was no need for Square Root Three to make promises in order to please soone.

"I can even promise that whenever your daughter wants to leave she can go," Square Root Three offered.

"Ok, I’ll support whatever decision you make then. You can decide for yourself now Kitty."

Kitty’s Father was a very intelligent negotiator. He knew when to push and pull, and if he pushed any further, he might ruin this great opportunity for his daughter.

"Great, then it’s done." Square Root Three laughed joyfully and shook his hands.

After leaving their ho, Lu Li couldn’t help but ask, "Brother Three, I want to ask you sothing. It’s not that I don’t trust you; I just don’t understand."

"You want to ask why I didn’t persist on asking her father to be the coach, right?" Square Root Three answered as he drove.

"Yes, that was one of my questions," Lu Li nodded.

Although the circumstances of his childhood were quite unfortunate and he had never received a proper education, his curiosity and desire to learn was respectable.

"It’s simple. My goal was to recruit her daughter to join our team, but do you really think a father would let her only daughter who has been sheltered all her life to co out and experience the real world by herself?" Square Root Three asked with a smile.

"Umm.. do you an..." Lu Li wasn’t stupid and knew what he ant.

"Exactly. When the ti cos, he’ll volunteer to be our coach without us even trying to recruit him," Square Root Three said, then continued, "What was your other question?"

"Why do you allow her to leave anyti she wants to?" Lu Li wasn’t sure about this either.

It wasn’t that he was against Square Root Three’s promise, but that he just didn’t understand why he was so generous. If Kitty Likes at decided to break contract and leave, it could cost a lot of inconvenience and wasted money for Ruling Sword.

Square Root Three did not answer the question directly but asked another seemingly irrelevant question.

"Do you know why players leave?"

"They leave because... they’re unhappy, or because they’re not getting paid enough?" Lu Li guessed.

"Yes, you just answered your own question," Square Root Three laughed. "Our guild has great people and we try to create a comfortable environnt for our players. She also gets to start straight away as well. What else is there for her to be unhappy about?

Lu Li thought about it and realized that his guild probably had the lowest rate of players leaving.

This was one of the major advantages of a new guild. Everyone had the sa goal and worked in harmony to build up their new project without quarrels or argunts.

"As for the money, can you imagine how much their house would cost in that area?" Square Root Three asked.

"I can’t put an exact price on it, but it must be very expensive," Lu Li said while he recalled the house they had just left.

"Kitty’s father has got his own business and they have also hired a house maid. They’re extrely wealthy and don’t need the money, so it doesn’t matter how much money we offer his daughter. As long as his criteria are satisfied then we’re fine."

With all his past experience of managing a guild, Square Root Three was very good at reading other people and knew how to manipulate them.

Lu Li could probably defeat ten clones of Square Root Three in a fight, but in terms of managing and dealing with affairs, he was clueless.

All that was left to do was for Kitty Likes at to sign the contract and move into her new ho which would take about two days or so. Since the tournant was starting soon, she would need so ti to gel with the other team mbers as well.
