Upon arriving at the high-speed train station, Su Ming stepped out of the car, imdiately drawing the attention of those around him.
He was wearing sunglasses at the ti, dressed in a white T-shirt and sky-blue denim shorts, with white sneakers on his feet, looking extrely sunny and handso.
"This young man is so handso, and by the looks of it, he’s also quite wealthy."
"Indeed, look at that, he’s driving a Bentley. He’s definitely a tall, rich, and handso guy!"
The girls around were whispering among themselves, eyes filled with admiration as they looked at Su Ming.
However, Su Ming clearly wasn’t concerned about their discussions. He scanned the crowd and imdiately locked onto a figure.
This figure was about 1.78 ters tall, wearing a black T-shirt, sporting a crew cut, with dark, rough skin, and wearing Anta sneakers while carrying a luggage bag.
"Deng Zhigang, over here!" Su Ming waved towards him.
Deng Zhigang looked over, initially startled, but then overjoyed, saying, "Ming bro!"
He hurried over with a smile, saying, "Ming bro, it’s really you! I almost didn’t recognize you, you look like a complete elite now!"
Su Ming was montarily speechless inside, thinking he was just wearing the most ordinary sportswear; it seed that Deng Zhigang hadn’t lost any of his flattery skills from before.
However, his company currently needed soone with such honeyed words.
Su Ming smiled, patting him on the shoulder, and said, "Old classmate, welco! Co on, let’s go to the company, my car is parked over there."
Once inside the Bentley, Deng Zhigang couldn’t help but exclaim, "This kind of luxury car must cost at least millions. Look at these leather seats and this luxurious interior, I feel like I’m dreaming!"
He then exclaid towards Su Ming, who was sitting in the driver’s seat, "Ming bro, you’re amazing. I could work my whole life and still not afford a car like this."
Su Ming initially wanted to say that this wasn’t his car, that he was just the driver.
But he felt it wasn’t necessary because elevating his own status might help in winning over the first batch of employees.
So Su Ming shifted the topic, "Zhigang, I didn’t expect you to arrive so quickly, there’s sothing I forgot to tell you."
Upon hearing this, Deng Zhigang, still smiling, said, "Ming bro, from now on I’ll follow you! As long as you say east, I won’t go west, just make sure to not delay my salary."
"What I need to discuss with you is indeed about your salary. Not only might it be delayed, but we might not be able to pay it at all for the first few months," Su Ming said flatly.
Upon hearing this, Deng Zhigang’s face fell, turning into a bitter gourd as he said in disbelief, "No way? Ming bro, you must be joking!"
Su Ming said seriously, "It’s really like this, because our company hasn’t made a profit yet, so temporarily we can’t pay wages."
He paused and then continued, "However, once our company gets on track, your wages will definitely not be delayed even a bit."
The reason Su Ming said this was because he believed that starting a company was for the sake of making big money.
Everyone should prioritize their own interests. Since the company hasn’t turned a profit yet, even as the boss, he couldn’t front the wages for the employees.
Moreover, even if he did front it, he couldn’t pay Deng Zhigang much.
By then, Deng Zhigang—having co with high hopes—would find his salary unsatisfactory and might go around saying:
"Su Ming is just for show. He’s not the real deal, can’t even pay decent wages."
Su Ming didn’t want to engage in such thankless tasks.
Deng Zhigang thought for a mont, and then unusually seriously said, "Ming bro, no problem! Since I’ve decided to co all this way to Longcheng to join you, these issues are not a problem at all!"
Then, looking at the road ahead with full hope, he said, "As long as we work together, we will definitely make money. I have full confidence in you!"
Su Ming looked at Deng Zhigang in surprise, not expecting him to have such confidence in him.
After reaching Mingchang Construction Company, Deng Zhigang’s eyes lit up. After Su Ming took him around the company, he couldn’t help but exclaim, "Ming bro, your company looks even more impressive than the photos showed, this decor and setup is impeccable!"
At that mont, Yang Chang and Sha Hai walked in with a group of people, Su Ming asked in confusion, "How co you’re back so early?"
Yang Chang replied gloomily, "Don’t ntion it, Zhang Zhichao initially promised to give us so glass installation tasks, but then nothing happened."
Su Ming thought for a mont and then said, "It seems there are quite a few construction companies competing for tasks at his site."
Zhang Zhichao is considered a major contractor in Longcheng; he has ample credibility and connections to secure valuable projects.
He then subdivides these projects into tasks and assigns them to other small companies.
But clearly, with the real estate market slump and economic downturn, more and more construction companies are competing for these small tasks, and the competition is getting fiercer.
Yang Chang nodded and then noticed the unfamiliar figure standing behind Su Ming, asking, "And who might this be?"
"Oh right, I forgot to introduce. This is my old classmate Deng Zhigang; he just arrived from his hotown and wants to join our company," Su Ming said with a smile.
"Ah, I see. Welco! From now on, we’re all family," Yang Chang said, smiling, before taking out a pack of Chunghwa cigarettes from his pocket and offering one to Deng Zhigang.
After accepting the cigarette, Deng Zhigang smiled and said, "I’m new here, I hope everyone will show the ropes."
Su Ming then took them to a small stir-fry restaurant next to the company and also brought a few bottles of chilled beer.
They had all co from the construction site, sweaty and hot, so nothing could feel more refreshing than a few bottles of chilled beer.
Su Ming learned this from Zhang Biao’s approach. Although Zhang was ruthless, he was indeed smooth and thorough in his work. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have transitioned from a rural boy to a wealthy big boss.
"Co, let’s raise a glass to welco our new colleague!" Su Ming said, raising a beer-filled glass and calling out to everyone.
