Chapter 879: Chapter 878: Searching for Him
The entertainnt industry is much the sa, teeming with beautiful people, but there are only a few with truly interesting souls.
“You…” Qing Ran wanted to say sothing, but he found himself at a loss for words and without anything to rebut. Forget it, he was already living a tireso life, carrying a heavy burden. Perhaps behaving capriciously once in a while might actually be a good thing.
Chu Yifei didn’t say anything and turned away from the lounge, leaving behind a Qing Ran with an expression of complex emotions, and a Sang Jie deep in thought.
It had been four days since the entertainnt news about Yeqian broke.
Qiao Xiaren didn’t have much of a role today, and she left the set at ten in the morning, heading straight for Bigui Villa. The Bigui Villa was a seaside property. Yeqian owned several villas in the Capital, the one the dia didn’t know about was Bigui Villa.
Initially, Qiao Xiaren didn’t think Yeqian would be at Bigui. After all, he had once said that his least favorite villa was Bigui, for no particular reason other than a dislike for the beach and seaside views.
How many promises are made amidst such beautiful scenery, yet how many are truly fulfilled?
Qiao Xiaren found Yeqian’s perspective a bit ridiculous, yet she felt a twinge in her heart watching him earnestly explain. Not liking it but buying it anyway—was it because he had too much money and nowhere to spend it?
The certainty of his presence in Bigui was due to the information brought by Si Limo, who ntioned that Zhao Xueli might be there as well.
After discussing with Chu Yifei, Qiao Xiaren decided to go together. Naturally, they hadn’t inford Yeqian beforehand; they wanted to catch him in the act. As soon as she stepped out from the set, she saw Chu Yifei’s car already waiting at the entrance.
The car window slid down, revealing Chu Yifei’s distinct outline.
Wearing sunglasses, he tilted his chisel-jawed chin slightly upward, and Qiao Xiaren could even sense the gentleness emanating from his whole being, “Get in.”
Qiao Xiaren nodded and directly got into the back seat.
Chu Yifei seed a bit astonished, “Why not sit in the front? You’re not looking down on now, are you? Even though you rejected before, this disdain is too obvious and far too heartbreaking.”
“You’re overthinking it,” said Qiao Xiaren sowhat speechless, “Haven’t you heard that a man’s passenger seat is only for his wife and girlfriend? It’s inappropriate for any other woman to sit there, isn’t it?”
Chu Yifei appeared unconcerned, casually tossing his sunglasses onto the dashboard, “Well, I don’t have a girlfriend or a wife, so there’s no need to fuss over it. As for you, you’re not worried I’ll do sothing to you, are you?”
“Even if you wanted to do sothing, you couldn’t,” Qiao Xiaren half-joked, “And why have you suddenly cast yourself as so lecherous old man? That deity Chu, who has countless adoring fans and makes countless hearts flutter upon his arrival—how co you’re self-deprecating today? With so many girls throwing themselves at you like moths to a fla, why the self-mockery?”
“It’s not bad to indulge in a bit of self-deprecation now and then.”
He took out a bottle of coffee from the car and handed it to her with a smile, “This is fresh, still warm.”
Qiao Xiaren accepted it, “Thank you, as thoughtful as ever.”
“Of course, aren’t the ‘nice guys’ always the spare tires?”
“You’re becoming more amusing,” responded Qiao Xiaren, “I’ll feel guilty like this, using deity Chu with a myriad of adoring fans as a spare tire. Could I end up getting egged?”
“More than whether my fans will egg you, I’m more concerned about whether you’ll actually feel guilty,” Chu Yifei asked very seriously, then suddenly laughed, “Alright, let’s stop teasing. Let’s get going.”
