Si Limo stepped forward and asked quickly, "I am. How is she? Why did she faint?"

"Are you her husband?" The doctor’s serious face beca even grimr. "How on earth are you taking care of your wife? She caught pneumonia, and you didn’t bring her to the hospital for treatnt? You dragged it until now!? Her body’s in such poor condition, and with her gastric issues untreated, you, as her husband, didn’t remind her? How could you let her act recklessly?"

"Did she have a car accident before? The old injury in her leg hasn’t healed, and she’s covered in injuries. This is truly the first ti I’ve seen a patient like this. Are you planning to give up on her leg?" The doctor grew more upset as he spoke. In his line of work, nothing is heavier than life itself.

"Did she do sothing strenuous recently? It aggravated her lung pain and caused a high fever accompanied by unconsciousness. I ask you, how are you taking care of your wife?"

Si Er coughed lightly, as he did see Miss Qiao run ten laps on the training ground earlier.

The doctor, thinking it over, glanced warily at Si Limo and asked suspiciously, "Do you have a tendency for dostic violence?"

He had seen many husbands like that, though he hadn’t seen one with such a handso face.

Mary, who ca along, felt a bit awkward and was about to step forward to explain that the patient brought in wasn’t his wife at all.

Unfortunately, before she could speak, Si Limo’s words ca through.

"I don’t."

Si Limo didn’t respond further, just listened to the doctor, his aura becoming even darker.

He truly didn’t know she had so many illnesses. She never said anything, and probably never would, about all the various wounds on her body.

Mary and Si Er stood silently by, the shock more intense than ever.

She was only 20, yet she bore burdens unimaginable even for a man.

No wonder there was always a feeling of near desolation about her, her fragile body steadfastly standing in the wind.

It seed that heaven had taken much from her, perhaps at this young age, she had already tasted the warmth and coldness, seen the indifference and enthusiasm of the world.

It was easy to imagine how Qiao Xiaren persevered through all of it before.

No one knew how long they remained silent when Si Er was about to ask sothing but saw Si Limo say nothing, turning to head towards the left elevator door.

Qiao Xiaren was still on an IV drip, not yet regaining consciousness.

He sat by the bedside, holding her other hand tightly in both of his, brought it to his lips and kissed it gently, just watching her peaceful sleeping face.

The ward was very quiet, so quiet that only the sound of the IV dripping water could be heard.

His grip on her hand tightened, quietly waiting for her to wake up.

She slept for a whole day and night.

When Qiao Xiaren awoke, it was already the next afternoon.

She didn’t know how long she had slept. Once she gained consciousness, her throat felt dry and thirsty, her stomach very hungry, her whole body felt as if it were being roasted in a furnace.

What happened to her?

"You’re awake?" Si Limo noticed her eyes open, a glimr of light appeared in his eyes. He reached out to touch her forehead, the fever had subsided.

Qiao Xiaren was taken aback, seemingly hadn’t expected soone beside her, subconsciously said, "I want so water."

"Okay." He walked over, poured a glass of water, took the pillow, and placed it behind her for support.
