Remira didn’t know what to do with the information at hand. From the looks of it, Jester wouldn’t have given her such an opportunity if he didn’t know that in the end, he would sohow co out on top, so this was definitely a trap of so kind.

A trap where she might lose her life if she didn’t tread carefully. But at the end of the day, her obsession won her over, since hearing what Sheva had to say, she had already made up her mind.

Even if it was a trap, she would go in. Considering that, unlike at all other tis, the place where Malidi is hiding is far from the civilian population, the collateral damage caused by her actions should be minuscule.

She hopes it is, but because she lacks confidence in what had happened before, she chooses to ask the experts in this field, who irrevocably deny her request, calling her irrational. The tis were not right, and from what Remira understood, the beast that had awoken was far more dangerous than Jester at the mont.

Its history had been noted down in all the major churches, for he was a scourge that is far harder to defeat than one can ever hope to imagine. And having angels and the likes on one’s side rarely helps a being that can overpower such powerful beings with his personal strength alone, even if he hadn’t stepped into the path of either the totem or a Daemon.

That’s how dangerous a fallen Knight can be.

Of course, it’s not like he was truly supre. As long as he entered the dinsion where the true gods and their servants reside, Dragon would be nothing more than an insect for them to deal with. But in the material plane, with restrictions abound, it’s far harder for them to make a move even with a realized Domain that far exceeds the domain of a normal Legendary.

And if left alone for longer, this serpent that claims itself to be a Dragon might start devouring others in hopes of becoming a true dragon.

A feat nigh impossible for a being of his nature. Which is why it was prioritized.

But Remira was not one to easily back off. In the office of Ziegart Hawking, the current Leader of the Radiant order in the Brihma Chapter. She put down her case, specifically the part where Heroth, the Serpent’s mortal psyche before it was broken had been seeking Malidi for his cure.

"We did let you go out and seek Malidi in hopes of dealing with Jester, but look what that brought to us instead." However if there was one thing that Grand Ziegart lacked, it was being cordial in front of failures.

Ignoring the background and Identity that Remira had the Chosen of the First Knight, she was an embarrassnt to him. All she had brought to the Order had been one trouble after another. Making his job far harder as ti went on. But earlier on, due to her identity as "saint", a term that is not well-liked among the Radiant Order because they didn’t want to be considered a religion, Remira had been able to do things that would have put a ban on other Knights in her position.

At least on paid leave for a bit, and in the worst case, forced to retire.

And these words did hurt Remira. She understood her mistakes more than anyone, and although it hurt her heart, she had co to accept the losses caused by her actions. It was her burden to carry and to prevent more sacrifices from happening, she had to deal with the issue at hand.

So although she had felt ashad to confront such words. Words that hurt not only her mind but also did away with so of Jasper’s efforts to heal her mind. But she still spoke. "Heroth had been using Malidi to cure his ntal issues and keep that monster at bay. It’s why he was under Malidi’s service for so long."

"Which ans that Malidi might know a way, a simpler way to deal with this issue than just brute forcing it or using dangerous relics whose consequences everyone knows about."

Among the history noted about this immortal serpent, it’s said that in the end, the forces in the world that had to suffer under it eventually end up coming to a single conclusion, they have to seal him instead of hoping to kill him. Because the latter was close to impossible to do, as this serpent was not as simple as it appeared on the surface.

Which ended up requiring sacrifices.

Sacrifices of the transcendent and mortals alike. The relics that are used to seal such a powerful monster are corrupted ones, their very nature is corrupted, but that ends up adding a more potent effect to its power. Though due to being corrupted they always require sacrifices, as for what kind.

Remira didn’t want to think about it all. However, none of it will be good considering one of the most evil relics sealed in Radiant Order, sothing her old ntor Maxim Hailey had a hand in dealing with his own teacher.

A relic capable of charming an entire city, though what it feeds on is innocent children’s hearts. The very item was a perversion of nature.

"You expect a scholar to deal with that beast?" Zeigart asked, appearing a bit disappointed in Remira’s claim. "I can agree that the man might have a way to suppress the monster hiding beneath that man, but even the Bartender’s Guild did the sa by feeding that monster riches on a regular basis to keep it satisfied, but they also have no way to suppress the demon once it is unleashed into the world."

Since learning the kind of monster they were dealing with, Cynark had long approached the Bartenders who they initially kicked out of Rudrain to learn more about what they were doing with it. Because anyone can see that no one was more desperate than the Bartender when trying to prevent this monster from being unleashed on the world.

It’s when they learned of the many thods they used to satisfy the greed and hunger of that monster. And how much of their own profits were sacrificed to that beast whenever it got awakened by Heroth’s frustration.

"The bartenders are also not capable of exploring forbidden zones, not on the level of Caves of Wondernt at least." Was Remira’s response to Ziegart’s words. And she was not wrong. There are few that would survive such a tough ordeal in a dangerous environnt like that even among the Radiant order. So one can imagine how rare it would have been in the outside world.

"Remira, you are basing all of this under the words of who we can only consider an enemy at this point. More so the enemy you had been pursuing all this while...hah, this is just like before, whenever so Knight goes after that bastard, they fall into obsession, losing oneself and their reasoning." Ziegart spoke in frustration, before sighing and then continuing with his refusal.

"I won’t allow this under any circumstances, and it’s not because I care about Jester at the current mont. There are many voices outside that are asking for your resignation. Although such voices don’t know what your true identity is, once we keep coddling you, they might get suspicious about it. Not to ntion, your record hasn’t been clean if not at all. So if you wish to regain the right to act on a whim, produce so proper results, take so simpler tasks that haven’t been solved yet, and build so goodwill before I will allow you to go after Malidi again.’

It was straight refusal, there was no way Ziegart was going to allow Remira at this point. Not to ntion, Jasper a prominent Magistar among the Radiant Order had long warned Ziegart from giving Remira any other missions until her mind had stabilized.

Ziegart didn’t see one bit in Remira’s eyes, she was still clouded by her obsession. And he didn’t know why when even bigger trouble was on the horizon.

Who knows, they might end up needing her in the upcoming conflict with that monster.

Though Zeigart’s words ca close to an end abruptly as he felt sothing, along with Remira who turned their head toward the Door’s direction.

With a Push, the door was opened, and there he was, Vance Clifford who ca here unannounced into the room, although there was a eting already going here. But at this mont, he was no longer the confident old him that could tackle the whole world on his own, at this mont, he drooped his head down low and first apologized for disturbing the eting, before saying. "This here is the Retired Knight Alabasta, also my master," he spoke as a young man walked into the room, finding the decorations in it a bit distasteful considering how gaudy they appeared.

Though his eyes soon fell on Remira at first, followed by Ziegart who had completely gone mute under the face of this madman.

"You." Were all the words he spoke as there was no need to speak anymore.

The old man Alabasta was known to have retired long ago after his failures caused Tragedies as they did with Remira. Though the truth was, he was actually forcefully kicked out of the Order under the pretext of retirent due to his madness that stemd from his obsession with that weird thing.

Obsession that has caused nothing but misery in this world.

And it would seem that obsession never subsided. It’s that obsession that drove Alabasta to rise to the ranks of Legendaries and regain his lost youth.

"It’s such a disappointnt that you still keep ignoring him." The Knight spoke with so sadness. "But worry not, this ti, I will end him and all his ilk."
