Xu Zeng’s responses usually got shorter and shorter the farther one went from his favorite topics—Xu Feng and his precious nephew, Xiao Long and Da Long.

It was sotis hard for him to have a productive conversation outside of his topics of choice, so of which were learned in the other (modern) world. It wasn’t that he hated everyone, but he was actually a bit shy.

Who would believe this dense and uninterested looking giant of a ger (and a man), would be shy? Not many.

But when it ca to this especially awkward conversation dealing with marriage, as soon as "sire babies" was ntioned, he beca fired up. He was ready to defend his skill as a demon beast and preserve the honor of his ancestors!

His pepper was talented as well as spicy!

His jade sword was broad and sharp!

His aim... well, he’d never practiced before, but he was sure his aim would be spot on, and all shots would land!

As for skill, that would co with ti, he was still young...

Young and fiery! Youth had to count for sothing!

Before he could go off on a tangent about his ability to get a certain red furred fox pregnant with ease, he was thoughtlessly cut off! A double insult to his honor!

While Xu Zeng was mostly preoccupied with his bloodline and his ability to sire children, Bai Mo beca confused, "Xu Feng was of fox bloodline." This was a certainty! Bai Mo had discussed this with Feng Feng several tis.

"That’s why I went to Jinghua. I went to get a cultivation thod for us." He was interested in cultivating too, but he also wanted to help Xu Feng be able to stand tall against his in laws.

The Xuan family wasn’t a family he could ddle with, and his help to Xu Feng was limited. This was sothing he invested ti and resources in, he’d taken priceless Dragon Chrysanthemum flowers from Xu Feng.

These were rare flowers he now had no access to—would Xuan Jian go into Nanshan forest to provide him with a steady supply of tea? No.

Not even in his dreams.

He gave these items to his prideful and spiteful distant family mbers for Feng Feng’s and his own sake, because they were both foxes who could benefit from fox cultivation thods!

Now both n sat staring at each other with deep frowns on their faces, it was like they were speaking different languages. This might be a first for Bai Mo, but Xu Zeng always seed to be speaking in tongues when it ca to the people in Nanshan Estate.

Bai Mo and Xu Hu Zhe were just two of his victims.

"We can’t cultivate your fox thods, besides, once you fully awaken your bloodline, you should receive your ancestral inheritance."

Bai Mo was a young talent in Xu Zeng’s eyes. Maybe he hadn’t been one before he t Xu Feng, but now he was one. Plus, Xu Zeng had no idea just how much or how little his brother’s abilities had played a role in Bai Mo’s journey.

He was only a step away from being a full blooded demon beast. This didn’t an his human heritage had been completely erased, but that his demon beast blood was nearly fully awakened. Not every half breed could fully awaken their blood.

Potential was a big factor.

It was the difference between a half blooded beast who could only show their animal traits within Dongzhou, and a demon beast who could transform their appearance fully and nearly at will outside of boundaries of the continent.

Half blooded demon beasts weren’t common outside of Dongzhou and in other realms, but they weren’t sothing you wouldn’t co across in a lifeti.

But within Dongzhou, even with their numbers being pitifully small, there were still much more in a concentrated area.

Xu Zeng didn’t know if they all needed cultivation techniques to cultivate like the human cultivators. As for full blooded demon beasts like him, even ones with lower bloodlines, cultivating was like breathing, it was part of their inheritance.

They practiced whenever there was ti.

New techniques could be learned and added to what they started out with, but taking cultivation thods from the Bai and Deng families made no sense. Even for Bai Mo, it was only a jumping point.

"Inheritance?"

"Yes, inheritance!" Xu Zeng looked at Bai Mo with a keen eye that made his fox ears twitch in sha and embarrassnt.

Bai Mo’s two fox ears were a color dancing between brown and red at one point, but from the ti Xu Zeng had t him till now, they had beco an unquestionably red color.

Whatever Xu Feng had done to nurture the little fox was very effective. Even when he wasn’t present to feed him tea and energy rich foods, the fox’s bloodline was growing more and more potent.

Delicious even.

Xuan Yang should be a normal garden snake and Bai Mo should be a run of the mill fox, but both slled like more... Even Xu Hu Zhe slled like more...

On the other hand, Bai Mo was interested in learning all Xu Zeng knew, but the stare was so strong, and his heart was beating so fast. It felt as though his heart was ready to jump out of his chest and sprint away in the opposite direction.

"O—O—Okay! Stop looking at !" Bai Mo shouted before bringing both his hands to cover his mouth as his eyes beca large plate like orbs.

How rude! How uncultured! How could he yell like that in the company of another? His face went from the red color to a pale deathly shade.

Embarrassnt and sha, these were now the two emotions he knew fondly. These were the two emotions he wore around Xu Zeng.

Xu Zeng didn’t flinch, but there was so emotion in his eyes. Bai Mo couldn’t bear to look the other directly in the eye for too long, but he knew he couldn’t leave things as they were.

"I’m sorry for my outburst. Your gaze is so...so..."
