The sisters chanted, summoning their deceased sister.

"Ad te, Vetula, te invoco, ad veni, per Et Virginem y per Et Matrem."

"Ad te, Vetula, te invoco, ad veni, per Et Virginem y per Et Matrem."

"Ad te, Vetula, te invoco, ad veni, per Et Virginem y per Et Matrem."

The candles started flickering. They chanted again and the candles blew out.

A glowing figure appeared above the body of The Crone. It took no defined shape, just a glowing humanoid figure stood before them.

Her essence.

It was beautiful and delicate.

"The Crone, we summon your soul before you pass to ask you of your vision before death." The Mother spoke first, giving the spirit a command to tether too.

But The Crone did not speak; instead, she held out her hands and a white fla began to dance in her palms.

In it the fla split into four separate flas, changing color. One white, one black, on blue, and one green. They flickered in her hands.

The two living witches stared at one another in confusion.

Why wasn’t she speaking? What did the flas an? What did they represent?

They both were asking the sa questions when the flas changed.

There was only the black fla now, it was small looking smothered and barely flickering, and then it sparked to life turning blood red and blazing before shrinking back to it’s original color and shape. A second fla appeared this one red, standing next to the black fla.

The black fla faded out leaving only the red. The red fla didn’t flicker, or dance, simply existed in her palm when a small pink one moved into the center. The pink and red started dancing together.

The two witches were puzzled by the aning of The Crones fiery display.

She continued regardless. The pink and red fla had an additional two lighter red flas.

The flas changed again leaving The blood red fla moving only slightly and grey flas appeared with it. And as the pink fla and two lighter red flas entered the picture the pink one exploded and then disappeared with the two red flas.

It was then they realized The Crone was telling a story with the flas. However, even with this new understanding they were still at a loss for what the story was about. How did The Crone expect them to figure it out?

Almost like she could sense their confusion she stepped back and contemplated how she could explain the story without her words.

She couldn’t co all way back like a usual summoning of a spirit before it entered the wheel. But the goddess Apollo had already claid her and put her back in the cycle. So only her essence could return. And soon her soul will call it back. Her ti was limited.

Then an idea popped in.

The figure tried to change its whole shape. It expanded itself making itself large and a blinding white light turned into a perfect circle.

"The Moon?" The Maiden asked. Her eyes narrow and nose scrunched trying to think.

The figure shrunk back and focused on giving the bottom of her form a skirt and gave the energy around her a twirling look.

"The Moon Goddess?" The Maiden added.

The figure changed back and held out her hand again and showed the four flas, including the white one.

"These flas are the gods?" The Mother asked, catching on to The Crones ga of charades.

She changed the shape of the flas again. Using both hands they expanded and more were added. Giving them forms of animals and humans.

The black fla stood next to the red fla in a human form with little grey fla flickers. The white fla flickered next two forms a human and wolves. The blue fla stood next to flas shaped like birds and the green next to large cats like lions.

And then it clicked for them. The gods, the shifters.

It made so much more sense now.

She was showing them her vision, and it was one of the past.

But the pink and grey flas? What did they an.

The Maiden looked up at The Crones essence with surprise.

"The pink fla is Violet?"

"No, child, it’s Lilith. But you were close. So, this is a history lesson?" The Mother sounded displeased, they had to know about the eyes.

"Be patient, can’t you see we fucked up the spell or sothing so her whole spirit didn’t co back with her, just her essences." The Maiden snapped at The Mother.

The Mother shot her a glare but let it go cause she was right.

This was just the essence, so her molding ability is limited to basic geomatical shapes. And maybe this was related to the eyes, The Crone knew better than to waste ti.

She shut up and The Crone continued once more.

She opened her hands again and all the flas ca back but separated this ti. The larger black fla flickered in the back where the red fla hovered in the middle of her palm surrounded by grey ones and the other hand the larger white fla stood in the back like the black and the white fla shaped like a person centered itself and was surrounded by the blue birds, green lions, and white wolves.

They all clashed except for the red fla and two white flas. They stayed planted in the center of each hand while the rest battled until they were snuffed out.

And then the white wolf and white fla fought and the red fla. When the red fla was nearly snuffed out the white fla ca forth and encaged it. Leaving the three flickering white fla and the black fla on the figures hands.

The white fla absorbed the two fragnts and then flickered out. The black fla grew and twisted into the shape of two ovals and exploded before disappearing all together.

The figure stood dropping its hands to their side.

The Maiden and The Mother stood in silence processing what they’d seen.

It was a war. One started by the gods.

They looked up to ask about the black eyes, but the figure started to fade out.

The Crone was being pulled back by the soul. And she couldn’t fight it.

The Maiden and The Mother understood and released The Crone saying goodbye one last ti.

The Crone left with a necessary sense of peace, one that would make her next life easier. She wouldn’t feel a burden on her soul.

They understood enough.

The Maiden and The Mother were perplexed by what they’d just seen.

"That’s a lot to process." The Maiden, as usual, spoke first.

"You think she showed us the creation of the shifters?" The Mother asked. Her mind already trying to fit the pieces together.

"Yes, and I think the white flas were the Moonchild and the wolves." The Maiden added and questioned "That ans the white fla is Odette?"

"More like her first incarnation. Since Lilith was in the picture" The Mother corrected.

"How do you know the pink fla is Lilith and not Violet?" The Maiden questioned The Mother’s accuracy.

"Because Ash wasn’t born with the soul of a god, the red fla was. So that ans whoever is the red fra is Lilith’s husband and the Grandfather to King Asher." The Mother explains.

"Okay, that makes sense, but how co none of us know any of this? Wouldn’t there be records?" The Maiden couldn’t understand why there was no records on this. Their coven was the oldest, they should have information on this.

If this was all true? Then where were the records?

"I don’t know, that doesn’t make sense to either. Maybe we can do so digging and find sothing, anything that can give us a clue." The Mother told her.

"What of the falling star? Where are we even going to find one of those? teorites are so rare now." The Maiden continued.

"We’ll have to hunt one down." The Mother insisted "How do you think this relates to now? You think its history repeating itself?"

"Yes, I think it is. Down to where the MoonChild is." The Maiden said "It was the shifters who took her, and in the Prophecy, it was said a wolf would find her and protect her."

"I think we need to call our witches back from the front. Arya can stay if she so chooses, she marches to a beat of her own. We can’t knowing contribute to this with the information we have no. After the celebration and The Crone selection we’ll contact Arya with what we know." The Mother needed to end the blood bath if she could. Without the witches, the vampires would be more vulnerable to retaliation attacks during the day, it wouldn’t be a smart move to continue the war effort.

Besides if what the vision and prophecy said was true, then there was no rescuing the princess, only aiding in the final battle.

"So shall it be, Mother."
