Upon hearing this, Liu Zhenguo’s expression turned awkward. He smiled wryly and shook his head. "It seems nothing can be hidden from the Marshal."

"What exactly is the matter?"

"It’s about the rocket you launched this morning!" Liu Zhenguo said, sounding sowhat helpless.

"The incident alard the higher-ups. Now everyone is on edge, thinking a war was about to break out. Zhongyuan Wolf personally called to try and find out what the Marshal’s intentions are!"

At this point, it was evident that Liu Zhenguo was quite nervous. This was no laughing matter. A rocket appearing in the city center would make anyone extrely tense.

"Is he afraid?" Chen Zheng sneered.

Liu Zhenguo slowly shook his head. "Marshal, I know you’ve always been concerned about what happened to the Old God of War, but this incident isn’t entirely Zhongyuan Wolf’s fault."

"Back then, he was responsible for the safety of Zhongyuan. To not make any secret moves was a logical choice—standard procedure, even."

"Standard procedure?" Chen Zheng roared. "My adoptive father defended the line against The Crimson Fla Army’s breakthrough into Zhongyuan. He fought to the last man. If Zhongyuan Wolf had sent reinforcents, my adoptive father wouldn’t have had to die on that battlefield!"

Chen Zheng’s fists clenched tightly, his eyes bloodshot. He slowly raised his head and asked icily, "Zhongyuan Wolf was right there, yet he refused to help. You’re telling that’s standard procedure?"

His voice trembled as he spoke, his anger nearly uncontrollable.

During that great battle, The Crimson Fla Army had flanked the border to launch a surprise attack on Zhongyuan. The Old God of War and his n held their ground, fighting to the very last soldier. And that Zhongyuan Wolf simply watched and did nothing to help. Chen Zheng had suppressed this hatred in his heart for all these years.

Of course, Zhongyuan Wolf was well aware of this. Chen Zheng was now incredibly powerful. He commanded a well-equipped army of several hundred thousand strong, and the entire border was impenetrable.

Naturally, he was afraid. This morning, several rockets had suddenly appeared. Of course, he would want to know what Chen Zheng was planning. Could it be revenge for what happened all those years ago?

"Marshal, the decision to hold the line in Zhongyuan wasn’t Zhongyuan Wolf’s alone. You should know he wouldn’t dare offend those people in the Capital," Liu Zhenguo said, his expression complicated.

"Did he pressure you?" Chen Zheng’s eyes narrowed slightly.

"It’s not like that, Marshal, please don’t misunderstand!" Liu Zhenguo slowly shook his head. "Although I am stationed in Zhongyuan, my loyalty has always been with the border. I just hope the Marshal can consider the bigger picture," he added with a sigh.

"You can rest assured. I know exactly what I’m doing. When this battle is over, Zhongyuan Wolf will be held accountable. And those people in the Capital... they will pay the price as well," Chen Zheng said, a cold glint in his eyes.

About fifteen minutes later, the Audi arrived at the Jinshan Hotel.

As an enterprise under the provincial departnt, the hotel’s decor was fairly standard. It had all the usual furnishings but gave off an unpretentious impression.

Liu Zhenguo had his secretary book a private room on the second floor. It was just an ordinary room, as this was a private dinner. He was finally getting a chance to catch up with Chen Zheng and was naturally worried about being interrupted. Fortunately, the hotel had only recently opened, so few people recognized Liu Zhenguo, which saved a lot of potential hassle.

However, as the two were passing a luxurious private room, a familiar voice drifted out, causing Chen Zheng to stop in his tracks.

"Mr. Zhang, our brand, Tianwei Si, may not be a major one, but it’s very popular with young people. If you’re willing to work with us, it would absolutely be the best choice!"

"Miss Wei, you should be well aware that our website’s hopage only features established brands. You are indeed very capable, but your company just doesn’t et the required standards."

"Mr. Zhang, we can be flexible on the collaboration fee. I hope you’ll reconsider!"

"Miss Wei, why don’t you start by drinking this glass of wine? This is our first ti discussing business. Let’s just treat it as making a new friend."

"Mr. Zhang, I do apologize, but I don’t really drink."

"You won’t drink? Miss Wei, you need to understand sothing. I couldn’t care less about a small company like yours. I only agreed to et you because I admire your talent. If you’re not going to show so respect, then we can just forget the whole thing."

"Alright then... I’ll have one glass."

Hearing this, Chen Zheng ca to a complete halt and turned to look at the private room.

"Marshal, what’s wrong?" Liu Zhenguo asked, turning to look at Chen Zheng.

"I’m going to see a friend. Which room did you say you were in? I’ll co get you later."

"Room Ten."

"Alright, I’ll be over in a bit. You go on ahead." After saying this, he turned, pushed open the door to Room Three, and walked in without hesitation.

Inside the room, a man and a woman were seated. The man wore a designer suit, his hair slicked back, giving him an oily look.

And the woman was his wife, Wei Zixuan.

Wei Zixuan was just about to drink the wine when Chen Zheng strode forward and snatched the glass from her hand.

"Do you have any idea what your alcohol tolerance is? How could you dare co out to drink with soone alone?" Chen Zheng’s voice was sharp with anger. But it was more worry than anger. She’d already run into trouble twice, yet she still dared to go out drinking with soone else.

"Chen Zheng, why are you here?" Wei Zixuan asked, stunned, her brow furrowing tightly.

"Kid, who are you?" Zhang Ming sneered. "Why do you look so familiar?" He thought for a mont before it clicked. "You’re that guy from the sales office in the Jiangnan district... Right, right, I rember now! The piece of trash who sells fruit!"

No wonder the guy looked familiar. The mory of what happened at the villa was still fresh in his mind. He had been thrown out and drenched in urine. It had taken him several days to recover.

"Mr. Zhang, please don’t be angry. I’ll make him leave right now!" Wei Zixuan said, finally understanding the situation.

"You two know each other?" Zhang Ming asked, suddenly curious. He had designs on this Wei Zixuan, so of course, he wanted to get a clear picture of the situation. She was beautiful and possessed a certain quality that made him want to conquer her. Who would have thought soone would show up and ruin things?

"He..." Wei Zixuan hesitated, unsure how to introduce him.

"I’m her husband, Chen Zheng," he said simply.

"Husband? Miss Wei, you’re married?" Zhang Ming was instantly disappointed. He had assud that such an outstanding woman would be single, never imagining she was already married.

"Zixuan, if you’re having trouble at work, why would you turn to an outsider instead of ?" Chen Zheng asked, his brows furrowed. He felt a growing sense of unease.
