"Woof."

Both of them froze.

Selene’s eyes shot wide in alarm.

In a flash, she scrambled out of the sleeping bag and dove back into hers.

Zzzzzip! The closing of the zipper echoed like a gunshot in the silent igloo.

Selene hid inside her sleeping bag, her face burning.Hati, you stupid wolf! she scread internally. We were so close! I even felt... that... thing!

anwhile, Alex stood up stiffly, his jaw tight. He glanced at Hati with narrowed eyes, silently fuming. Why did you bark?! You did that on purpose, didn’t you?!

Grumbling under his breath, he took a deep breath, then quietly stored the sleeping bags back into his spatial ring.

Monts later, Selene finally erged, her cheeks flushed with a faint red hue—but her expression was perfectly composed, as if nothing had happened. She wore black jeans and a long, warm blue coat that reached down to her knees. Her silver hair fluttered slightly as she adjusted her collar.

Their eyes t briefly—then quickly darted away.

Neither of them said anything about what happened.

"Ahem."Alex cleared his throat awkwardly."Let’s... uh, leave this place first. We can eat breakfast sowhere safer."

Selene gave a curt nod, keeping her face neutral. She raised her hand, blue energy gathering around her fingers, and with a flick, she ford a doorway in the ice wall of the igloo.

The cold wind howled outside, welcoming them back into the harsh world of Frozen Hell.

A little later...

Alex and Selene were searching for a place to sit and eat breakfast.

Unbeknownst to them, just a short distance away, three Frost Tooth monsters lay hidden beneath the snow. Their icy blue eyes glowed faintly beneath the frost, and a single shimring blue horn protruded from each of their foreheads. With thick white fur that blended perfectly into the frozen landscape and a faint, transparent aura masking their scent, they were the perfect predators.

Silently, like stalking wolves, they crept forward—each movent calculated, graceful, and deadly.

Alex and Selene paused as they spotted a small snow-covered hill ahead. The formation dipped inward, forming a natural arch—just enough to provide a makeshift roof.Nodding at each other, they turned and headed toward it.

But then—Alex’s instincts scread.

He crouched low and yanked Selene down with him.

Swoosh!Thud!Grrr! Grr! Grrr!

A Frost Tooth lunged overhead, crashing past them.

They had narrowly avoided death—saved in the final second by Alex’s sharp instincts.

Snarling, all three monsters erged from the snow and closed in, surrounding them.

Hati spun around and growled, standing protectively in front of Alex and Selene.

But the Frost Tooth didn’t retreat. Intelligent and coordinated, they circled in slow, deliberate steps, their movent crunching softly over the frozen ground.Their icy eyes shimred, locked on their prey.

Alex and Selene stood up, eyes narrowing as the monsters circled.

Selene smirked. "Let handle them."

Alex glanced at her, concern flickering in his gaze. "Are you sure? Monsters can be unpredictable."

She nodded with a confident smile, her voice soft but steady."Don’t worry—I can handle them."

Alex hesitated, but finally stepped back, staying alert just in case.

Hati followed, yawning lazily. He clearly had no interest in a morning workout.

A soft blue glow began to swirl around Selene. A smile tugged at her lips.I’ll show you, Alex... I’m strong.

The aura pulsed and rushed into the icy ground beneath her.

Crunch!

Suddenly, jagged ice spikes erupted from the ground beneath the monsters like a blooming flower of death.

But the Frost Tooth were quick—too quick. With feline grace, they leapt into the air and landed a few paces away.

Selene’s smile widened. "It’s not that simple of an attack."

The mont they touched down, the ice beneath them pulsed again. This ti, sharp thorn-like spikes burst upward—crafted from her aura, blooming like frozen roses tipped with death.

Squelch!Squelch!A sharp cry echoed.

One of the Frost Tooth hadn’t moved fast enough. A spear-like thorn shot through its belly and out its back. With a final guttural growl, its body went limp.

Its blood froze upon contact with the icy thorns, crystallizing mid-air into jagged ruby-like shards that shimred like crimson glass.

The remaining two howled in fury.

Their calm, intelligent gaze was gone—replaced by primal rage.Blue aura burst from their bodies as they charged.Their long snow-colored horns glowed, and similar spikes ford from their energy, razor-sharp and gleaming in the pale light.

Selene didn’t flinch.

The two Frost Tooth pounced—

But before their bodies even reached her, their horn attacks shot forward like icy bullets.

Selene’s eyes widened, but she didn’t hesitate.Blue aura flared around her, forming a glowing shield in front of her.

Thud! Thud!

The horn spikes collided with the shield just as the monsters themselves slamd into it.

Crack!

Boom!

The shield shattered under their combined weight, and Selene stumbled backward—

Slash!

"Arghhh!"

A claw tore through her jeans, and a deep gash opened on her thigh, blood seeping and steaming in the cold.

At that very mont—

Alex rushed toward her, eyes wide with panic.

Ssssh!

Without warning, a figure shrouded in smoke appeared in front of him.

Alex, caught off guard, skidded back—

Thud!—and fell hard onto the snow.

The smoke-clad man lunged. A dagger, coated in chilling, black-blue aura, pierced straight into Alex’s stomach.

Squelch!

Alex gasped, his breath misting in the frigid air. Pain froze his senses.

But before the killer could move again—

Shhhht!

Selene’s spikes hurled through the air, screaming with vengeance.

But the man vanished into smoke—Like a phantom.

Gone.

As if he had never been there.

Selene’s heart thudded. Her eyes blazed with rage.

She spun, scanning the area, but saw no sign of the attacker.

Her anger boiled over.Dozens of ice lances ford above her, shimring with deadly purpose.

A sharp yelp echoed across the frozen silence as the remaining two Frost Tooth were pierced again and again.

Each lance tore through them like divine punishnt. There wasn’t a spot left unmarked, no place unpunctured.

The beasts fell still—Their eyes wide open, not with hatred toward Selene,But with silent resentnt toward the black-cloaked manwho had made the Ice Goddess angry.

Selene ran toward the bleeding Alex, her feet stumbling in the snow, heart pounding with fear.

She dropped to her knees beside him, eyes wide with panic, and quickly examined the wound on his abdon—his hands were pressed tightly over it, blood seeping between his fingers.

Alex looked up at her with a weak smile, his voice soft but steady.

"I’m okay... I’ll heal in a second."

He closed his eyes and summoned his wood elental aura.Golden-green energy flickered around him—

But the mont it surged toward the wound, a violent pain erupted inside him.

A chilling, freezing aura flared from within the wound. It twisted through his vessels like a serpent of ice, thrashing through flesh and spirit, destroying everything in its path.

Only coldness remained.

Alex scread—"Arghhhh!"

His body convulsed, arching off the snow as agony coursed through him.

Selene’s breath caught in her throat. She looked at the wound—already closed on the outside—but Alex was suffering as if he were being torn apart from within.

Tears spilled freely down her cheeks. "Alex! Are you okay?!"

But he couldn’t answer.

His body writhed on the frozen ground, the small trace of blue aura snaking under his skin, relentless and cruel.

Selene’s hands trembled. Her thoughts scread in panic.

What should I do?! What should I do?!
