Capítulo 1306: Chapter 1319: The Last Earth
The Star Thief Boss took a quick glance at Allen, and only after seeing him nod slightly, did he clear his throat and say, “No rush, no rush. The promised benefits will still be given to you.”
Different from his timid deanor in front of Allen, when facing others, the Star Thief Boss’s tone carried a hint of ferocity, buzzing and thundering, nearly deafening everyone around.
Unable to contain his bandit nature for a mont, the Star Thief Boss suddenly rembered the great presence sitting near him and was imdiately apprehensive, fearing the other might get angry.
He hadn’t forgotten that this Duke was soone who paid great attention to ceremony and propriety.
Most importantly, he was a madman.
If by chance he found his loud voice annoying and turned him mute, he’d have to accept his misfortune.
Being the head of star thieves, losing his voice seed not to matter much.
Frightened by his own wild imagination, the Star Thief Boss couldn’t help but shrink his neck down, altering his rough speaking tone to present himself as more cultured and refined.
“Ha, naive,” Allen comnted with a smile.
As Allen’s gaze swept over, the Star Thief Boss’s face imdiately tightened, even clamping his legs a bit tighter.
Staring at the light screen, seeing the small airship already docked, Allen rubbed his hands together, eager and ready to go.
He stood up quickly, then sat back down, pouring himself another glass of bright red wine in excitent and downing it in one go.
“Let’s wait a little longer. It’s not ti yet, we need to wait a bit more….”
Forcing himself to restrain his agitated and restless heart, Allen curled up his lips and said to the Star Thief Boss, “Next, it’s your ti to perform….”
“Only by experiencing ultimate fear can one be redeed by a glimr of light born in the darkness… That’s how a perfect opera is perford… And then cos my perfect entry, she will be redeed by , giving birth to the purest flower of love and then….”
“And then… die at the most beautiful mont. Death is not an end, but a beginning….”
Allen, like the most frenzied bard, chanted a beautiful and moving love poem with fervor.
Though looking completely at a loss, the Star Thief Boss couldn’t understand a word of Allen’s self-talk, but was still awed by it, feeling a sinister chill, making his hair stand on end.
This terrifying madman.
The prey he set his eyes on was indeed pitiable.
After his lant, Allen reverted to a noble and calm deanor, dismissively waving his hand, “Take care of the rest.”
The Star Thief Boss imdiately looked serious, lowered his head, and responded, “Yes.”
———–
Having handed over the person, Ryan pressed his arm with a poor expression, waiting for a response.
Earlier, it was just one arm, but now it had turned into half a body twitching occasionally, and even though he injected a genetic serum, the originally unbearable pain that nearly drove him insane was only reduced to a level that wouldn’t push him over the edge; however, the deep-seated pain, penetrating his bones and even soul, lingered persistently.
No matter how many tis he ran checks in the dical cabin, the results were the sa: his body was perfectly healthy with no issues at all.
That was what scared him the most.
How did that Earth woman do it?
Ryan had already grown to hate Su Li to the core; had it not been for the notorious Fifth World requesting the goods, he certainly wouldn’t have let her go.
At that mont, all he wanted was to quickly receive the paynt and find a more advanced dical cabin for treatnt.
But the other party was taking too long to reply.
The longer the ti dragged on, the higher the chances of changes occurring, not to ntion, they were dealing with the vile Star Thief Gang….
Ryan couldn’t help but start feeling uneasy.
Watching coldly by, Da Li couldn’t help but chi in, “Ryan, you’re usually so shrewd and capable, why would you trust a group of star thieves’ word now?”
Since when did he beco so naive?
The value of the only survivor from an extinct Primitive Star was incomparable to a newly discovered species; the value was far beyond comparison.
The Alliance might turn a blind eye to star thieves trafficking in species, but it would never allow them to play around with and sell a sole precious species recklessly, especially not before figuring out its value.
So…. if the star thieves dared to commit such a hostage act, they must have been prepared to leave no survivors. How could Ryan naively think the other side wouldn’t just reward them handsoly but also let them go?
“No, it can’t be, they’ve always upheld their promises before…” Ryan rebutted frantically.
Unintentionally, Da Li said out loud what he had just been thinking.
Only then did Ryan panic a bit, but he forced himself to stay calm, no longer caring about exposing anything, and insisted, “In previous deals, we worked together very smoothly.”
Although there had been suspicions of Ryan’s misuse of public office for personal gain before, hearing him admit it, Da Li still felt imnsely angry.
Ryan was indifferent, “They were just lowly kinds, breeding rapidly, losing ten or a hundred wasn’t a big deal….”
In contrast to the Dada Star people’s strong physiques and abilities was their extrely low birth rate.
With an average lifespan of about five hundred years, the Dada Star people hadn’t seen the birth of a newborn in nearly two centuries.
This was why the Alliance had always been dedicated to finding the origin of their species.
No new births ant that one day they would face the extinction of their species.
Of course, this was only one perspective; many Dada Star people deed it unnecessary worry.
While Ryan and Da Li argued, a magnetic and sowhat enigmatic male voice exuded from the communicator.
The other party seed unconcerned about soone on another channel hearing his voice.
This voice was extrely familiar to the ears, though Da Li couldn’t imdiately recall where he had heard it before.
After pondering for a while, a stroke of inspiration hit Da Li, and he exclaid in shock, “Duke Xingyao….”
Wha- how could it be him….
He would never mistake the suavely dignified voice he had heard countless tis on the Star Network, now bearing a trace of wickedness.
Simply because Lord Xingyao was the person Da Li admired the most.
Though born a noble, he had always been committed to species protection charities, providing shelter and ho building for many poor creatures.
No one was as benevolent as that gentleman.
Yet this small recognition completely overturned his imagination.
Lord Xingyao was mingling with star thieves.
While Da Li was shocked and at a loss for action, the familiar voice from the communication device said again, “Take care of the rest….”
Before Ryan and Da Li could react, in their final conscious monts, all that was left was a burst of explosive flas erupting before their eyes.
