Chapter 271: Chapter 271: Yun Lih Is Here Chapter 271: Chapter 271: Yun Lih Is Here Li Qiao’s remaining words were choked back, with no chance to ask anything more, as Academician Jiang had already ended the call.

She leaned against the edge of the desk, her expression faintly falling.

At this mont, a series of footsteps ca from the neighboring conference room, sounding like the investors had arrived.

Li Qiao sighed silently, stuffed her phone back into her lab coat, and walked out of the office.

Fu Lvting was still waiting for her in the corridor; seeing her co out, he asked, “A friend of the teacher?”

Li Qiao, with her hands in her pockets, glanced at the frosted glass of the conference room, “Possibly, but the teacher won’t be back.”

“Then…” Fu Lvting followed her gaze, “Are you going to et him?

When he ca in just now, I saw him; he seed rather imposing, not very approachable.”

Imposing?

Are you sure he’s here to invest?

Li Qiao thought for a mont, then looked toward the conference room, where she could vaguely see the silhouette of a man sitting at the table, “Mhm, I’ll go and have a look.”

Fu Lvting was a bit worried; rembering the man’s fierce deanor, he couldn’t help but step forward, “I’ll co with you.”

Li Qiao intended to refuse, but after a second thought, she decided against it, nodded, and walked towards the conference room with Fu Lvting.

At the sa ti, at Yan Emperor Group, Liuyun also received a report from the security guard at the research building.

He looked down at the surveillance footage on his phone, his gaze landing on the man wearing sunglasses and a gray suit, and he felt strangely familiar.

Concerned about the safety of the research building, Liuyun did not act rashly.

Holding his phone, he went to the chairman’s office, only to find it empty.

He stood at the door, dazed for a mont, when suddenly soone kicked behind his knee, “What are you standing here looking foolish for?

Praying for luck?”

Wang Yue’s teasing voice ca from behind.

Liuyun shifted his body to the side and glared back at him, “Where’s the boss?”

“Over there, in a eting.

I heard there’s been so trouble with Zhui Feng; the boss and Luoyu are solving it through a call,” Wang Yue said, nodding towards the multidia room, then turned back to look at Liuyun, “What’s up?

You need the boss for sothing?”

Liuyun nodded seriously, contemplating whether to interrupt.

Wang Yue, puzzled, looked at him, “Whatever big issue you have, I advise you not to go in.

The situation with Parma seems pretty serious; I heard Zhui Feng got injured.”

Upon hearing this, Liuyun’s expression tensed, “Serious?”

“Don’t know.

Seems like a car accident.

We’ll have to wait for the bosses to co out and see how bad it is.”

With Wang Yue’s reminder, Liuyun dropped the idea of going in.

But the man looked so familiar to him that he opened the video on his phone again and handed it to Wang Yue, “Take a look at this person, do you recognize him?”

Wang Yue took the phone and looked intently for a few monts, then shook his head, “He seems sowhat familiar, but I can’t place him.

Who is he?”

“Supposedly an investor, planning to invest in Miss Li’s laboratory,” Liuyun explained.

Wang Yue had an epiphany and exclaid, then tossed the phone back to Liuyun, “What’s strange about that?

There are plenty of rich guys these days, maybe he’s been on TV, no wonder he looks familiar.”

Is that it?

Liuyun found this sowhat unbelievable, feeling uneasy within.

At that mont, Wang Yue walked a couple of steps forward, and seeing that Liuyun didn’t follow, couldn’t resist teasing, “What’s on your mind?

Just look outside; it’s cloudy, overcast.

And yet that guy is still wearing sunglasses, clearly just showing off his wealth.”

Liuyun silently put his phone into his pocket, not wanting to talk with Wang Yue anymore.

In the laboratory, the ti had just passed two in the afternoon.

At the entrance of the eting room, Fu Lvting was the first to push the door open, allowing Li Qiao to enter first.

As Fu Lvting turned to close the glass door and looked towards the direction of the conference table, he couldn’t help but stiffen his neck.

This investor is quite mysterious.

In the eting room, asuring only a dozen square ters and housing a conference table with six seats, a man was seated at the head of the table with his back to them, a pair of sunglasses placed on the table.

The mid-height backrest of the chair obscured his figure, leaving only a shiny, slicked-back head exposed.

Fu Lvting subconsciously glanced at Li Qiao and noticed she had her hands in her pockets and her eyes downcast, lost in thought.

In this situation, Fu Lvting thought she was nervous and couldn’t help but step forward and politely began, “Hello, may I ask if you are…”

Before he could finish, the man with his back to them swiveled his chair around, slowly revealing his face.

But Fu Lvting had no ti to take a closer look, as he caught sight of what the man was holding and drew a sharp breath, instinctively stepping in front of Li Qiao, “What are you trying to do?”

The man was holding a silver and black Colt revolver, casually spinning the cylinder with his thumb.

Fu Lvting’s spine tensed, and a cold sweat broke out on his forehead.

In a society ruled by law, he had never encountered such a scene.

Fu Lvting almost completely shielded Li Qiao behind himself, even though he was from a family steeped in martial arts tradition, he had never seen anyone brazen enough to wield a real gun so openly.

As the atmosphere grew increasingly tense, and he quietly took out his phone intending to call the police, soone patted his shoulder, “Brother Fu, you should step out first.”

“No, if we leave, we leave together.”

Li Qiao: “…”

She kept her head down, took a step to the side from behind Fu Lvting, and looked up at the man across the table, forcing a smile, “What he’s holding in his hand is…

a lighter.”

Fu Lvting was taken aback, still on full alert as he stared at the dark muzzle, “A lighter?”

Li Qiao ‘hmd’ in response, walked forward to open the eting room door, and gestured to Fu Lvting, “Don’t worry, he’s an acquaintance.”

Too much of an acquaintance.

She really hadn’t expected Yun Lih to find her so soon.

Fu Lvting did not want to leave, the more he looked, the more he believed the object in the other’s hand was a real gun.

But out of consideration for Li Qiao’s insistence, Fu Lvting slowly moved towards the door, keeping a aningful glare on the other man, and cautioned Li Qiao, “I’ll be right outside the door, call if there’s any trouble.”

“Hmm.”

After sending Fu Lvting off, Li Qiao leaned against the door handle with one hand, turned back languidly, and faced the other person.

He was involved in the blood-tingling business of a blade’s edge, yet he had the face of delicate enchantnt.

His thick eyebrows were like painted strokes, his nose sharp as a peak, and his pale purple thin lips were curved in a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, appearing restrained yet full of bravado, his features clear and handso, but emanating a deadly aura.

Yun Lih, twenty-nine years old, leader of the International Club rcenary Group.

Without speaking, Li Qiao stepped forward, pulled out a chair, and was just about to sit when Yun Lih, with a cool voice overflowing from his lips, said, “Hiding for so long, you finally show up?

Are you going to take your own life, or should I do it for you?”

Li Qiao looked at him dispassionately, and after sitting down, she tilted her chin towards the muzzle of his gun, “You make the move.”

There was silence in the air for two seconds, and then Yun Lih tossed what was in his hand onto the table and, licking his molars, burst into a mocking laugh, “Kid, you know perfectly well I couldn’t bear it, and yet you’re still pissing off, aren’t you!”

After speaking, Yun Lih crossed his arms over his chest, squinted his eyes narrowly, and stared intently at Li Qiao.

“You’ve been gone for over three years, aren’t you going to explain yourself to ?”

Li Qiao t his gaze, then tilted her lips indifferently, “I don’t plan to.”
