"Ah, that must be the delivery. I’ll go get it." Alice said, happy to get out of that awkward situation, and went to the door, but when she opened the door, she found a hooded person holding a box.

"Your delivery." They said and Alice’s eyes went from the suspicious delivery person to the box. It was fried chicken and her eyes glittered.

"Wow, I didn’t know Mark ordered fried chicken." Her mouth watered.

This threw her off guard as she was more interested in the food compared to the suspiciously dressed delivery person in front of her.

She grabbed the box.

"Alice, what did you get?" Miss Stella asked, and Alice turned her head around, smiling with her entire teeth on display.

"It’s fried chicken." She said and Miss Stella smiled back at her.

"Oh, that’s nice. Hurry up and co in. I think your phone is ringing." She said and Alice nodded.

"It must be Diane." She said and turned to the delivery person. "Thank you." She said and was about to turn around when the delivery person took out a knife and stabbed Alice’s side.

It happened all of a sudden and though the delivery person hadn’t exactly been too fast for Alice to react, Alice simply took her ti reacting.

After all, it wasn’t like just anyone could hurt her.

The knife, seemingly a dungeon item or well-crafted weapon by a skilled blacksmith, did not pierce through Alice’s skin.

It didn’t even pierce through her jacket since it had its own protective chanism.

As soon as it ca into contact with Alice’s jacket, the blades shattered and the delivery person’s eyes widened in shock.

"Wow, would you look at that?" Alice exclaid. "Were you perhaps planning to stab ?" She asked and this told the delivery person to run.

Get away from this monster of a girl as fast as possible. If not, it was over for real.

But they could not even take a step away as Alice grabbed the hood and threw them into the house.

Their body slid over the floor, and Miss Stella stood up, wondering what was going on when she noticed the shattered blades by the door.

"What the?"

She acted quickly and pinned the delivery person to the floor while Alice amicably shut the door.

"So, who wants chicken?" She asked as if nothing had happened.

"Don’t eat that, Alice. We don’t know for sure what this person put it in." Miss Stella warned and Alice frowned.

Yeah, for soone who was trying to kill her, there was no telling what they put in it. But... She gulped with her eyes greedily staring at the box... This was fried chicken. How could they do this to her?

"Who are you?" Miss Stella asked. "And who sent you?"

"Kegh! Kegh!" The delivery person seed to be choking on sothing and Alice’s eyebrows furrowed. She dropped the fried chicken aside and grabbed their face, taking off the nose mask they were wearing.

They were female, and this girl apparently had red bulging veins all over her face. Her eyes were bloodshot and red as well.

She was soone who had consud demon blood.

"Hold on," Alice said, and Miss Stella got off. She was going to tell Alice to be careful, but it seed like she was the one who had to be careful among both of them.

She understood that awakeneds, herself included, were sowhat immune to regular attacks such as stabs from a fellow human, but the knife she used wasn’t a normal knife.

It looked like an S-grade item. Just who was this person and what beef did they have with Alice that they wanted to stab her to death?

"So, you took the so-called miracle potion and then started losing control." Alice began, "And because you were scared for your life, you went back to the person who gave it to you, only to be given a condition like, ’kill this person, and we’ll give you the cure’, am I right? Or am I right?" Alice tilted her head, staring at their dumbfounded and sullen face.

"How did... Kegh... How did you know?" The delivery girl asked and Alice shrugged her shoulders.

"Well, it was the only explanation my mind could co up with at this mont. And since I am 120 percent sure that I have never t you in my life, I know you have no beef with . At least, I don’t feel any form of hostility."

She got up to her feet and stretched her arms.

"It’s usually these instances when soone you don’t know cos to kill you all of a sudden. They’re mostly an assassin on the job but you’re too sloppy to be an assassin. I think I even did a better job when I was four years younger." She knocked her head a bit, for so reason. "So, you fall on soone who is trying to survive. And the fact that you’ve got these red veins just draws the conclusion in my mind right away."

Miss Stella was shocked. Alice was able to co up with such a smart theory in less than a minute.

She adjusted her glasses, gloating at the side.

This was why she was a genius.

"So, did I get it right?" Alice asked the girl who was still heaving and coughing. She looked like she would lose her senses completely if she tried to channel her own mana.

"Hahahahaha." The girl suddenly started laughing like a maniac. It looked like she had given up on herself after all. "Just how... How did they expect to take out a monster like you?" She asked, tears streaming down her cheeks. "I just... I just wanted to beco powerful. I didn’t want to be looked down on any longer. But how... How did it co to this? Kegh, kegh,"

She had begun with her sob story but anyone who was in this state was beyond pity. At least, to Alice.

No matter what the reason was, accepting sothing like a, ’miracle potion’ without knowing what it was made of or where it ca from was totally out of the question for her.

"Miss Stella, would you mind taking a few pictures?" Alice said to Miss Stella who flinched. "The agency needs to know what they’re dealing with, right?"

"Of... Of course."
