Every single professor raised their hands... except one. All of them couldn’t believe just how high Fleur had scored. Her scores had increased by 50% in weeks. Her growth was simply unheard of. It was only a matter of ti before she would obtain one of the Legendary Seats of the Academy.

The only professor who hadn’t raised his hand was Beerus.

He was well-known for only accepting demons as his disciples, as it was said that he despised all the other races. It was also very common for the Demon King’s children to take him as their master.

That’s why he didn’t feel it was necessary to raise his hand. After all, there was an even greater talent patiently waiting in the crowd. On top of that, he was almost sure to obtain him.

’Why would I waste my ti with that stupid elf? She’s not even great compared to the Demon King’s son!’ Beerus thought with a sly smirk, remaining in his seat as the professors began arguing among themselves.

They were all trying so hard to convince Fleur to choose them.

’Pathetic.’ Beerus shook his head. ’The students should be the ones trying to convince us, not the other way around...’

He despised the other teachers at the Academy. He didn’t think they deserved their place inside the Demonic Academy because of how weak they all were.

After a few minutes, all of the professors stopped talking as they waited for Fleur to make her choice.

She looked troubled, hesitating, pensive.

"Ugh..."

Then, she finally opened her mouth, giving hope to everyone.

"C-Could I think about it a little more?" Fleur said, embarrassed.

She could feel just how annoyed most of the professors beca. She knew that so of them would feel insulted by such an answer. However, she was in a position to make such a request. All of the professors wanted her.

Still, the real reason she wanted to delay her answer was that she wanted to see what decision Caliste would make.

She knew that the chances of him choosing Beerus as his master were high. However, for so reason, she felt like he would defy the odds once more.

That’s what he had done ever since she had t him. She had a feeling that he would completely shock everyone present.

"Just know that there is a chance that most of us will have chosen another disciple by then," one of the professors said as he began walking away from the stage.

Fleur thought for another mont. However, in reality, she had already made her choice to leave.

So, without saying another word, she began walking away from the stage as the professors beca more and more enraged. After all, they would have to make offers to other students, and once they got their disciples, they wouldn’t be able to change them.

’Ugh... Why didn’t she choose anyone? This just makes things more complicated!’ the secretary thought as she observed the frowns forming on all of the professors’ faces.

"Ti for the next student. Can..."

After that, many students ca to the stage, and most of them were a lot more uninteresting, ranking in the C or B-Rank Classes. For that reason, the professors had not made any other offers yet.

While that happened, Caliste was talking with Fleur.

"Why didn’t you choose anyone?" Caliste asked with a slight frown, unsure why she had made such a choice.

"I don’t know... None of them seed good enough to ."

Caliste frowned. He knew just how important it was to obtain a "Master" or a sponsor to beco stronger. That’s why he didn’t quite grasp why Fleur hadn’t chosen anyone.

"What about you? Who are you taking?" Fleur asked, knowing that all professors would be raising their hands for him.

Caliste didn’t show much emotion as he shrugged. "Not too sure. I’ll see once I’m there."

Fleur smirked. "I knew it. You’re not gonna choose anyone."

Caliste frowned slightly. However, he didn’t say anything else. Fleur had indeed seen through him. He wouldn’t be choosing anyone. The reason was simple: he didn’t want their help.

More and more people passed onto the stage until finally, so interesting prospects appeared.

The first A-Rank student ca onto the stage, and two professors raised their hands, hoping to get him.

Usually, more of them would have raised their hands, but they knew who would be coming next.

This ti, though, the student chose one of the professors. After all, they knew just how important it was to get a master to gain more resources.

Only Fleur could make such a choice because of how special she was.

The A-Rank student chose the Alchemy Professor, an old man with a beard.

"Can Caliste Henry please co to the stage?"

[The system reacts to the situation.]

[You have obtained a new quest.]

[By completing this quest, you will enter the third Stage of the Demon System.]

Caliste’s eyebrows raised. It had been quite so ti since he had reached the second tier of the Demon System, which was the [Children Stage]. By reaching that stage, he had obtained a lot of stats and also the skill [Demonic Authority]. So, he could only imagine what he would obtain with the next skill.

All he knew was that reaching the third stage would make him even stronger.

[Quest - Choosing Your Master!]

[Description: Please choose Professor Beerus as your master and gain his trust.]

[Reward: 1 System Stage]

’That’s it?’ Caliste thought with a frown.

He thought the quest was way too simple. However, at the sa ti, it annoyed him. He didn’t want to have a demon as his master; he despised the idea, actually.

At most, he had wanted to choose soone else.

It was the first ti that sothing like this had happened to him. The system was telling him to do sothing that he did not want.

There was no punishnt, so it was still his choice. But even then... he didn’t like it. It was annoying.

The system was trying to force him down a path that he did not want.
